Firestarter (2022)
It started a fire of anger in me
The movie is an ordinary flick. Nothing special about it. Half heartedly entertaining? Nope not even that. I'm 42 minutes in while writing this and so far I was bored to death.
But the cat scene?! Useless, unnecessary without any contribution to the story or plot whatsoever. At this point I have to question the writers psychic state. Why mess with cats like that in a movie?! Yes, it isn't real. Yes it is prop and whatnot, but still...
No, my bad review isn't because of the cat scene, but it made me write the review I wasn't gonna write.
The movie is really just bad on all levels. Safe your time and watch something else instead.
Leave the World Behind (2023)
Leave 2:21 hrs behind
This movie was so hyped up, I was excited to watch it just to be disappointed beyond anything.
So at 1:30 I started to skip the nonsense conversation parts...
This movie is filled with storyline errors, plot holes, character fails... a waste of time.
No little hints of any secrets Obama may know, no real answer to anything that is going on in the movie. Animals acting weird, people acting weird, weird sounds coming from nowhere...
Acting? There is no acting... A thriller that failed to be one. The movie actually started to bother at one point.
I gave it a chance, I regret that decision...
You're not missing anything if you don't watch it.
The End of the F***ing World (2017)
Eerily brilliant
An abstract reference to Romeo and Juliet (with DiCaprio & Danes).
A show that is utterly strange, confusing and yet very gripping. As absurd as the entire story seems, it makes perfect sense. And for those who can see and understand the deeper, there are many messages hidden in this show.
My recommendation is to sit back, watch and let yourself drift through the events of the story. Entertainment, tension, confusion and comedy are present. Oh and you can safely ignore the maturity rating. There is nothing to be seen of sex apart from very fleeting "hints", the use of language is quite commonplace and cannabis in 2 episodes can easily be neglected.
Last but not least: ignore the season 2 critics - they are wrong...
Polar (2019)
You won't regret watching
I just watched it today and my expectations were pretty low, considering it a B movie. But I was so wrong. It has its cliches, it is sort of a slasher, typical plot and partly cheesy but not in a bothering way. The storyline adds up, the acting is good and if you watch out for the details at some scenes: they are thought through properly.
A few nice twists and the end is an absolute positive surprise.
I can recommend this one genuinely and say it is absolutely underrated.
Side note: If the "day 1" part is maybe a little hard to watch for you, just skip to "day 4" - you'll understand when you see it 😜
Fractured (2019)
OOOOO KAAAYYY
Ignore the bad reviews, they are clearly from people with 0 idea what a good movie has to deliver and oh boy this one delivers for good...!
Just watched it and I'm left behind speechless.
Twists, turns and then even some more. I had different theories while watching the movie and I had to change and/or adjust them while watching but all of them have been proven to be wrong at the end.
And the end gets you really good...
So lean back, grab a drink and a snack and enjoy the show. It has a few moments where it burns slow, but that's absolutely ok. The movie fully makes up for it.
You will like it and if you do, come back und upvote this review (:
There's Someone Inside Your House (2021)
Your average slasher movie...
The people rating this movie with 1 star also rate their hotel with 1 star because the sea was too cold...
The nerve and expectation of some people is unbelievable.
It is your average college teen slasher movie. It did ok - nothing more, nothing less. I don't love it, I don't hate it. I watched it once and with 100% certainty never again. It entertained me, it was watchable, it fulfilled its purpose.
And if you really expected this movie to be a god damn blockbuster, please just watch ordinary TV...
Stop slamming ones and twos around like nothing. Movies like Sharknado and alike deserve 1 star ratings.
Upgrade (2018)
Venom meets Knight Rider
The movie has some classic Hollywood cliches, every movie runs on. But boy, the twists and turns... they send you to another level.
The ending was just great and fitted perfectly to the entire storyline. The cinematography, the acting, the plot and storyline, they all end up matching and create a very entertaining and edgy movie to watch.
It partially touches societal areas, especially with automation, AI and some other aspects we are adopting into our lives, that makes you think twice about a few things to be honest.
Overall I recommend the movie as entertaining. Watch it and you won't regret it.
Old Dads (2023)
Very Refreshing for people with common sense
It is a comedy. It is picking on todays soft and easily offended society and it speaks volumes.
I was raised with shows like married with kids, the a team etc and I can definitely relate to the struggle of the main character.
Everyone is easily offended by anything nowadays, even people older then me - like how did they survive the 90s and 2000s!? Let alone the 70s/80s... I don't get it.
Although this is a comedy with a critical message, it was refreshing and I can highly recommend this movie. I enjoyed every bit of it.
The negative reviews must be from people under 30 - I guess they can't relate 😂
The 2nd (2020)
One timer...
By far not the best and not the worst...
You can watch it one time, but never again.
Missing plots/scenes. Errors in cinematography.
Cheap and full of mistakes but ok...
Blood Red Sky (2021)
Nah...
Average "horror" movie...
I'm not getting to much into the details, just this much: don't be too excited about it.
Storyline isn't sophisticated, acting is average and some logic errors are annoying.
A-X-L (2018)
Not the best but still cool
Not the top notch plot, action or whatever but absolutely watchable, entertaining and with a subliminal message for those reading between the lines...
Most Wanted (1997)
Worth a watch... every decade...
A movie that cannot be further away from reality. Meaningless dialogues and an absolutely illogical sequence. A Classic Hollywood Lone-Ranger-tricked action movie. Still fun to pastime and good for some laughs. Watchable every 10 years.
Need for Speed (2014)
Nope...
Disappointing: In places the plot or its logic is missing, errors in the logical sequence anyway and generally not really convincing. Important sequences left out and still produced an exaggeratedly long film ...
Seungriho (2021)
Turned it off after 50 minutes.
I fall for the good reviews but I've been heavily disappointed. Not spoiling but couldn't watch it longer then 50 minutes.
To sum it up: weird, illogical, pointless...
Spectral (2016)
Entertaining sci-fi action.
Well done and entertaining movie.
There is room for improvement but I like watching it every now n then.
Worth watching - recommended (:
Voces (2020)
I gave it a chance...
I read the reviews, decided to give it a chance and ended up being disappointed. Plot makes no sense, neither do some scenes; it tried hard but it failed - at least me...
Assassination Nation (2018)
Societies mirror well placed
Wanna see the dark side of today's society with a nice dark but yet deep touch? - Go watch it !
No further words needed.
Inside the World's Toughest Prisons (2016)
Nope...
Most reviews talk about the host, I don't know about that. But what personally bothers me is the most is that the host thinks he can judge over others. It is none of his business why someone is in jail and even less does he have the right to judge over prisoners. I am also bothered by the condescending and sublime behavior of the host. Not recommendable...
Iron Fist (2017)
Just a big no...
Out of curiosity I gave it a try, but I quit watching after S1:E7 - unwatchable...
Is Danny a moron? A genius? Or just retarded?
I can't tell. But what I can tell is, is the series is lame (not slow) - lame. Acting is bad and so is the story.
Message from the King (2016)
I really gave it a chance.
I read the reviews and really gave the movie a chance but... no!
It sucks with the plot, the story and the acting.
Over all it looks like a bunch of mixed together scenes that have nothing to do with each other to create a story but in the end it destroyed the movie. What a sad waste of time...
Extraction (2020)
Definitely worth watching it
The storyline is successful and understandable. Some scenes are reminiscent of John Wick, but that's not a bad thing. Lots of action with less annoying and unnecessary sequences. All in all it's worth watching it. Acting and also the stunts are performed great and the movie is a successful entertainment.
Edge of Fear (2018)
What a waste
Waste of time, money and resources...
Just quit watching it 40 minutes into the movie. Storyline is crap, acting is cheap and many cinematographic errors...
Not even worth 1 Star
