Wake me up when something happens.
5 March 2024
6 episodes in and literally not a single thing to hold my attention.

Very poor drab acting.

Absolutely dreadful script.

I can really get into shows that are so called slow burners, but this is ridiculous.

In order for an entertainment vehicle of any kind to do its job it needs to be, wait for it, ENTERTAINING.

This drivel doesn't even come close.

Not one episode so far has ended with an event that makes you want to watch the next instead of going to bed or washing the dishes.

Stillers directing is as usual, confusing, meandering and just blatantly rubbish.

You might seem pretty cool by pretending to enjoy this tripe but kinda like having no socks and a man-bun, everyone with sense will know you're justba moron.

Season 5. Ehhhh what?
19 February 2024
Season 1 was absolutely brilliant, some of the best TV you're ever likely to see. Season 2 was pretty decent, since then the decline in quality and coherent story telling has been dramatic.

Season 5 is absolutely dreadful, a promising beginning rapidly decends into nonsensical overly complicated drivel. To think so many good shows get cancelled and this garbage keeps being churned out.

The acting as always is pretty good in fairness but the characters are one dimensional and uninteresting. The reviewers on here saying its a 10/10 need brain transplants and have no clue what a good solid show should entail, let alone a great one.

Mind blowingly bad.

Truly and Utterly pathetic.

Warning: Spoilers
Seriously? Zombie Stormtroopers. Get a grip. This series has been really really poor with the rare good bit sprinkled through it. Dreadful acting, dreadful writing. The casting of Thrawn is nothing short of criminal. Disney have generally ruined most star wars projects they've attempted with the notable exception of Rogue One of course. Kenobi was good, Solo was watchable, but this is a new low. They need to come to terms with the fact that not all fans of Star wars fans are 8 years old. But then if the dollars keep piling up they'll keep churning out this kind of drivel. Absolutely pathetic. And that's being kind.

Decent uncomplicated cop show
5 August 2023
Please ignore the reviews that claim this show is "amazing". Its really not amazing in any way shape or form. It's well written, if formulaic, there's some very good acting and some very poor acting.

If you want a binge worthy show that grabs you and drags you along by the throat, this is not for you. Everything is neatly wrapped up in a neat bow at the end of each episode. No cliffhangers, no "must see" next episodes. That said, it's very entertaining in a soap opera kind of way. It ain't the Wire or the Shield but it doesn't pretend to be.

For the most part the characters (except for the very irritating grandpa) are likeable even if they lack depth. Accept this show for what it is and you will have hours of entertainment, but don't expect to be on the edge of your seat. 6 stars.

2nd series let down
10 June 2023
The first series is so original and refreshing. Well Written, well acted, understated and genuinely unlike any other show ive seen, the only comparison I can make is with the vastly superior Man in the high castle.

However looking forward to the 2nd series as I was, its everything the 1st series wasnt. Over complicated, hard to follow, characters that just appear in order to cover plot holes.

In short it lacks the simplicity of series 1, which for me is what made it so good.

That said the acting remains strong throughout but I can see why it was cancelled.

Series 1 9 stars, series 2 4 stars.

Downhill plummet
2 June 2023
While the first series was half decent and moderately entertaining, the 2nd and 3rd series just become more ludicrous with each episode. What started as a story about a man fighting to clear his name in series one quickly deteriorates into conspiracy theory nonsense, with an awful script and for the majority, poor acting. The holes in the plot you could drive a tank through, notwithstanding, its beyond belief, for one major reason. It actually takes itself seriously, unlike other more fun action series, like Banshee.

The only saving grace is that Ryan Phillipe is, whilst very one dimensional, pretty cool.

That's it. AVOID at all costs.

Carcrash

J.J quite clearly does not understand Star Wars. Disney quite clearly have no interest in understanding Star Wars. If this is the end ive waited 40 years for and not just an elaborate hoax then I'm heartbroken. No characterisation, no plot, no development, no story. There are Star Wars moments, enjoyable moments. The complete lack of any original ideas is mind boggling. I defy any watcher when the final scenes start rolling to explain coherently how we arrived there. A huge disappointing mess of a film.
