Copshop (2021)
A fun if not overly complicated ride
Cop shop is a fun 90s style action thriller romp. Taking place in one location, Cop Shop keeps you guessing till the end. Gerald Butler, Frank Grillo, and Alexis Louder are all great. Standout performe from character actor Toby Huss as a psychotic killer. The characters are all interesting and developed. The dialogue and characters are similar to a Tarantino film witty and ridiculous. It keeps you guessing and the ending is bombastic and ridiculous but fun. The movie isn't overly complicated and is a pretty common story. A man hunted by assassins must convince the people he with to protect him. However the performances take make it worth watching. Fun movie for a Saturday night.
Spawn: Burning Visions (1997)
Soldier of Hell
The first episode of Spawn introduces us to the cast of the series. Al Simmons, a dead Cia agent is forced to rediscover his identity as he awakens as the nightmarish hell spawn. Accompanied by a creepy clown who delights in violence and sin, the clown torments him and taunts him to the answer. Meanwhile a shadowy figure deals with a senator, wiping out journalists trying to reveal a secret while in return he gets unlimited funds.
Spawns first episode is moody and atmospheric. Not skimping on the violence nor language. Stand out performance from character actor Keith David. The rest of the voices are also top notch. Also props to the Twilight zone like intro with Todd MacFarlane asking a hypothetical question to the audience.
A must see for fans of spawn, horror, or adult animated shows. I was hooked instantly.
One Piece: Wan pîsu: Ore wa Luffy! Kaizoku Ou ni Naru Otoko Da! (1999)
A pretty good start
This is a solid first episode but their's really nothing special about it. Avodart, Coby, and of course Monkey D Luffy are introduced in this episode. Not much of Luffy's character is revealed except he is an ambitious person and inspires those around him. Nami is also here but she just kinda creeps around in the background the whole episode. Like is said its a good start but knowing what comes after it's not that good. Of course this show has top notch character design Alvida being one of my favorite and I kinda wish they kept fat alvida because she has more personality. The slapstick highjinks are fun. It's a fun episode but it's definitely not one that I'll revisit on other rewatches.
