Kardeslerim (2021)
An insult to intelligence
Started watching this with the hope for a good story but the dumbest writers just want to drag this out for the sake of inflicting the worst frustration on their misogynistic audience. 2.5 hours for well over 100 episodes revolving around the same group of helpless idiots. Every now and then they will introduce random yet insignificant new characters who have only a single purpose - to add more unnecessary misery to Kadir and his bunch of losers. There's being righteous and there's being plain stup!d. The main characters are the latter. Fool me once...
Too many flashbacks, cheesy slow-motion clips of various characters crying and all that cr@p. Half an hour episodes would have been more than enough.
With so many episodes and it's still going is a massive red flag that I should've picked up on from the start but my wife insisted that we give this one a go. That's hours of my life wasted on the first season of this idiotic series.
There are good parts that kept us watching but after awhile it's just plain sickening.
(Plus they missed the part where Asiye got her missing tooth fixed)
Stay away at all cost. This is no Game of Thrones.
Jeepers Creepers: Reborn (2022)
Utter garbage riding on the Jeeper Creeper lore.
Reading the bad reviews here was much more enjoyable that sitting through that utter POS disguised as a movie.
Should have known from the start that the lead couple would be annoying. If that was the plan by the director to make us cheer for the Creeper, that worked. Overall acting level is what you'd normally expect from a B-grade. May all these forgettable actors never get another job acting again. For humanity's sake.
Is there anything more un-original than a Halloween-themed event so they can cram the stereotypical college beer drinking dumb kids acting wild in costumes to try and up the scare factor for a bland movie? Red flag that's a cheap movie that has nothing new to offer.
And the Creeper wears riding boots. And that hat. The costume looked so cheap and amateurish it's a disgrace.
This one killed Jeepers Creepers possibly forever. Good luck with the next one. Disgraceful.
Nope (2022)
Should you watch it?
Don't waste your time.
The story doesn't make any sense. It wasn't gripping at all. Just a curio show from all the chatter about the new Jordan Peele movie. You'd think you'll get an ending worthy of the trash you had to swallow for 2 hours. You find yourself quietly rooting for the director to come good with a brilliant twist. I tried to watch towards the end but I just couldn't bring myself to it.
It's like watching a pile of garbage minus the stench. It's not often that everything in a movie is just awful but this one is one of those occurrences. The characters were bland or downright annoying. I don't normally bother with reviews but every now and then you just have to let the director know.
Note to self. Any time the name Jordan Peele is attached to something, run in the opposite direction.
Infinite Storm (2022)
Infinitely Slow
If she had made the decision to just leave him for dead this movie would have been more tolerable, much shorter runtime and had a far better ending. But sometimes we make wrong choices. Like watching this movie.
Halloween Kills (2021)
Nobody should pay to watch this garbage.
This franchise is like Michael Myers. It should die but we find it coming back and the latest always worse than the last. What else can be done that we haven't seen before? Typical pandering is today's norm as well. Make sure all the whiny groups are represented and write them in somehow. The kills are over the top and ridiculous.
If evil dies tonight then why is everyone giving him every opportunity to stay alive? Juvenile writing just to drag on and on and on.
In my book Halloween the franchise dies tonight. I cannot bear to suffer another minute of this.
Intrusion (2021)
Ridiculously stupid plot, horrible amateur acting, unbearably dry.
If you are planning to watch, please watch something else and save some time. Watch paint dry or count ants.
The acting was atrocious and totally unbelievable. So many things make no sense or unnecessarily made to appear helpless.
To think that the writers think they can pull this off without insulting the audience's intellect is beyond me. She drives to a trailer park. Conveniently finds a car with the window down. Finds the key. Breaks a photo frame. Bends down to clean the mess and finds more clues. BRILLIANT!
So many things wrong with this insult of a movie that I could point out but I refuse to waste more time thinking about it than the minutes I can never get back.
When a movie is so bad that the mere sight of the actors' expression becomes aggravating, it's best to steer clear.
Midnight Mass (2021)
UTTER RUBBISH!
Where do I start? A cast of bad actors. Worst of all was that dry, uninspiring role of Father Paul trying his best to make his sermons appear plausible. Horrible writing that drags on and on unnecessarily . Insipid dialogues that takes way too long but gets you nowhere. The makeup was so bad it was a giveaway as to what to expect further down the show.
Almost the entire series was shot in near total darkness. I thought how hard would it be to sit through 7 episodes to see what all the rave was about. Horrible experience like ripping wax, pulling teeth and chalkboard scratching all into one but it's 'slow burn' which makes it all the more excruciating.
The concept of the story as a whole was promising but it was rather obvious the writer's agenda was. That's the only positive thing I can say about this. A movie perhaps. Not something dragged-out from the writer's a** just to fulfil a 7-episode contract. A forgettable cliché at best. Anyone lauding this I don't think they'd be willing to sit through this and waste 7 hours that they'll never get back.
I'd rather watch paint dry than another Hamish Linklater or Mike Flanagan piece.
No Man of God (2021)
What was the point of this movie again?
Bundy was believable. Elijah's Elijah. Production was good enough to draw us back in time. That's where the good ended.
Halfway into the movie my brain went to sleep even though I was watching. Incessant talking but it went nowhere.
F9 (2021)
What is up with Charlize Theron's hair in these god-forsaken movies?
Couldn't bear to watch beyond 20 minutes. Toretto's younger self has no resemblance to him now whatsoever. And that's the least of the utterly ridiculous things that the filmmaker's trying to make you buy into for 2 hours. Lame dialogue. I love British accents but this one I just could not bear any longer.
Servant (2019)
Those that rated this highly must've been high or paid a lot of money.
Note to self. The next time something is described as "slow-burn" it's faux artsy and has no substance.
I'll agree that this started off with great potential. After that it was just all downhill. Bungee jumping with the cord tied to your teeth would have been less painful and quicker than having to sit through this. Slow-burn is the default recipe writers go for when they're all out of ideas and just want to milk it. Agonisingly unbearable with the character decay. It's like a competition to see which one you won't be able to bear any more by the end. Viewers are made to sit through episodes with little to no intrigue/development while each character becomes more and more obnoxious. It's like being skinned alive through 2 seasons while they cut off your eyelids first so you're forced to watch hoping that the pain would be worth it with a Shyamalan twist at the end.
In the end it's just rubbish with a huge name drop just to con people into watching. How much Shyamalan was involved in this farce is questionable. Avoid at all cost.
Season 3 really??
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
I wish they would undo this movie.
Before watching this, every review I read and heard from people I met were negative. But I just had to watch it for myself. After all, it's Gal Gadot.
Forget this one and just remember the first one with fond memories. Two and a half hours felt like a lifetime. Pure juvenile storytelling. There's ridiculous and then there's RIDICULOUS! This one is utter rubbish!
More than half the movie was all dragged-out, unnecessary scenes. The acting was cliché but I would guess that was down to the directing. It was agonising just to sit through it.
The dumbest of all the dumbest was why in the world would she be swingin' - from a plane a mile away / from lightning / even from what appears to be thin air - halfway across the ocean and then decide to go home and get her armor and then fly back again?
DC movies sucked to a whole new level this time. As if Suicide Squad, Justice League and Birds of Prey wasn't enough. Sheesh!
