The Hunger Games (2012)
Not good enough
The biggest flaw of this movie is the way the contestants behave. Imagine being thrown away into a jungle arena in which 23 of the 24 people will certainly die. You would be paranoid, on the edge, aggressive. You would trust no one. Well, in this movie it's just the opposite: The contestants immediately make pacts that everyone takes for granted, nobody watches their back, they sleep like babies all together under a tree which their rival has climbed upon. They sit right in the middle of an evacuation area like a duck although their rivals have bows. It is as if these are not young people facing horrible ways to die, but contestants of a singer/dancer competition. There is no tension in the movie, which was the first thing to put in there in order to make it at least a little bit believable. Besides that, the control room interferes with the game bluntly and openly. People wouldn't like to watch that. It's like watching a quiz show although you know they give away the answers. The control room shoots fireballs at the contestants, imagine the rest!
Blue Bloods: Thanksgiving (2011)
If somebody's named Ayla Demir, she's Turkish not Indian.
If somebody is named Ayla Demir, you can be sure that person is Turkish, naming a character Ayla Demir and making her Indian is like naming an Italian character Patrick O'Hara. A person named, say Tarik Ziyad can be either Turkish or Arab but both the name Ayla and especially the surname Demir are specific to Turkish. Actually, 'demir' means iron in Turkish. A kind of mistake that is very easy to correct in the age of internet while writing the script. It may seem unimportant if you're unaware of the difference, but if you are, the feeling of reality is gone. Well, that is all I like to mention about the show but since there is the minimum of 10 lines rule I guess I'll have to write another sentence and this is that sentence.
Cadillac Records (2008)
Unlike the blues, this movie is bullshit.
Unlike the blues, this movie is bullshit. Did they try to "hip hop" the story, was that the idea? Guess what, it didn't work.
Muddy Waters and Howling Wolf were not Achilleus and Hector. True, Muddy Waters thought Howling Wolf was plain stupid, and they had conflict of interest but that was just a detail in Chicago Blues Era. It was not what the scriptwriter intended it to be: Drama 101: Create Conflict!
Put aside that, those people were true artists. Did they want to buy a Cadillac and get the girls, sure, why not. But that was not the bottomline of their story. The music was not "a way to make ends meet" in that sense. They sang that. They do not sing that.
Ocean's Twelve (2004)
Waste of time and money.
Just to think of how much money they spent on this plot less film, i came to the conclusion that there is and will never be justice in this world! You keep watching it saying "it can't be this bad, there must be some kind of genius heist in the end, it must be mind blowing since, it's going to make sense out of this mess." So, you wait, and you wait, and you wait...
SPOILER: How can anybody expect us to believe that professional thieves will actually try to pass Tess Ocean as Julia Roberts! An Hollywood star will visit Europe and the press won't find out until she wants to see the egg in the museum. Besides the real Julia Roberts (or her associates) won't notice that on TV and won't call anyone. What a master-plan! Where they so out of ideas, did they think it would be funny. Well, It's not funny it's dull.
