The Mist (2017)

I wish I had a fan to blow this show away
9 September 2017
I wish I had a fan to blow this show away. The worst 8 hours of TV ever. This is some kind of joke...

Too many characters, no connection. Most of the cast looked ill, due to bad grading. The script was bad and didn't make sense.

Run, Run the mist is on Netflix. Save your self. Delete from all the servers now or they might make a second season.

If you took Burn notice, with the comedic bounce of 48 Hrs
7 September 2017
You get a call from your ex, she needs your help to protect and deliver a hit-man to an International trial. You were at the top of your game and now ……

If you like films like cop buddy movies, this is for you. If you took Burn notice, with the comedic bounce from Eddie Murphy break through classic 48 hrs, Tango and Cash and other 80s cop movies. With a small love story throw into the mix.

The producers didn't spare a cent. This film is packed full of stunts and effects. Like an old James Bond movie, which would have made Bob Simmons and Rémy Julienne proud. Google them!

This is a great movie on all levels, the lighting, the directions, the shots of stunts, the script was simple and funny. The light blue grading makes everything pop. Mr. Jackson and Mr. Reynolds just gives you, what you want in this movie. Action comedy / Moden buddy movie, with a salute to the past.

This movie is about action and then the script.

A well-written comedy drama about relationships and autism.

A well-written comedy drama about relationships and autism. Which quickly pulls you in and creates an emotional connection with you and the main characters.

With amazing main character monologue and lighting. Which helps you understand his condition and how he perceives the world.

With the supporting characters, traits and insecurities become more apparent with every episode. With some great one liners. You find yourself taking sides. The cinematography was clean with warm tones, with a sound track to match. The cast works and delivers some great family moments combined with heart warming moments.

A well-scripted emotional comedy drama roller-coaster. Another strong binge watch. 8x 30 min an episode. 4.../5

Netflix's execs, green light the next season. I know budgets are getting the review. Low-cost culture builder, with so much to give.

Little Evil (2017)

It's the film Adam Sandler turned down in the 90s
7 September 2017
Little Evil is not a horror or a comedy. Your not scar by the movie it self, but by the money and time wasted to make this film. First, the plot lets take omen and make it funny. It's the film Adam Sandler turned down in the 90s and some how the script was lost in time and found it way to Netflix. The sound track basic and abrupt. You feel the scenes change and only works in 20 percent of the movie. The color grading feels rough. It felt like I was watching a vines stars, youtube movie. The cast was a weird fit, like a lot of favors, were called in. Supporting characters with no direction or add nothing to the story. Apart from a couple of one liners. I know a team of people worked hard to bring this story to life. But this was so bad. on so many levels. Maybe I watch too much TV and films. I have and watch all the Hitchcock movies on DVD. So maybe, it's a personal mismatch.

You wake up in a locked room & with a dead body.

You wake up in a locked room & with a dead body. The police kick in the door. No suspects.... So many twists, some see coming and some you don't. A very seductive drama, shot in cool tones. In subtitles, but you stop caring after 15 minutes. The plot and cinematography are amazing. The performances are also amazing due to the fact you connect to the characters very quickly. I don't want to write and ruin the twists. Great watch, great movie. Most definitely a word of mouth classic.

A simple story with a solid script
7 August 2017
A simple story with a solid script with action and twists. When Jacob King from South Africa does not hear from his sister in America. He decides to visit and uncovers a pit of lies and betrayal.

I enjoyed this cracker. I knew, where the story was going and then the story takes a side step. Which leaves you like mmmm OK and then your back to where you thought the story was going.

Now my issues, the accent was too strong or low. Which stopped certain scenes from connecting. Also I'm not going to lie a car chase scene and some one liners would have made it Fire. And the action needed more multi angles (point of view shots). But this would add 1000s to budget and editing time. Modern film making is control by numbers, like most products today. So, I am not disappointed and I cant wait for this teams next project.

Apart from that very good watch. Casting and performances were strong. If you like films like taken with a touch of born identity. Then this is the Netflix title for you. One the best crime action dramas on Netflix today.

What would you do to protect your family? What would you do to survive?

What would you do to protect your family? What would you do to survive?

An amazing story of falling . After a life changing accident puts a white collar worker behind bars. He is left fighting for his salvation.

This film will have you rooting for the bad guy. Shot like an independent movie, light grading with a blue tint, simple tight shots apart from 3 scenes. Also, film has multiple scenes of graphic violence, which reinforces the power of the story. Which allows you to reflect on the main character evolution. So not for the weak hearted.

This movie is all about the script and your emotional connection to the main character. Which leaves the supporting characters looking and feeling a bit flat. The problem is time, is not enough time to build the other characters up and give them depth.

The script is hard and most definitely keeps you engaged. This is not a quick watch. So prepare yourself. Get some rest and enjoy. Ps. Not a first date movie.

Just because you caught a unicorn in the wild
1 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
JimStrouse & Netflix The Incredible Jessica James A funny, well written and delivered light hearted comedy about moving on from an ex and working towards your dreams. A smooth enjoyable watch, which leaves you wanting more. @JessicaWilliams performance makes you connect to the character and makes the emotions feel bigger than life. An example of this, her smelling the Vicks rub before going to bed. The jump suit and looking disappointed. That her little sister didn't think, she was cool enforces the emotions. Also, co stars were well cast and added to the energy. Part 2 London needs to be made!!!!

"Just because you caught a unicorn in the wild, doesn't mean you get to tap it all the time."
