The Star (2017)
People are rediculous.
It's a cartoon. From the point of veiew of animals. Who talk. It's not meant to be anything more than it is: a fun, funny, entertaining story. We get to see Mary and Joseph as average people who are entrusted with a monumental, overwhelming situation. We get to see it through the innocence of animals. It is a touching, heartwarming, blessing of a movie. I, for one, laughed throughout and got emotional at the birth. Not every movie has to be a huge, epic, three part, bloated, over-done, over promoted, and self important film.
Dream House (2011)
A true "who done it" movie.
Even though I cried like a baby because I have girls about the age of the ones that were murdered. I was thoroughly confused and lost, which are the exact feelings Will was having, until it's explained in the end. It's supposed to be convoluted and keep you guessing. Not many movies surprise me anymore, or make me feel the story. This one grabbed me and didn't let go.
Descendants 2 (2017)
Outstanding

Wow. People have no idea how to enjoy classic Disney for what it is. This has all the hallmarks of a feel good, mostly great acted, stunningly choreographed Disney film that is based on beloved characters. The costumes are based on them and supposed to look that way, and it's supposed to be charmingly cheesy. It's based on Cartoons and childhood stories.) It's also not a drama, and it was leaps and bounds above the first one. Yes, the dragon was annoyingly fake, and there were places where it was slow, but there were so many good song and dance sequences. I still can't believe they pulled off dancing on a water stage. It has the feel of a live WDW stage production.
