Laal Singh Chaddha (2022)

Epic failure

1 star is the lowest I could give. I gave one more star for the Shah Rukh Khan cameo. That was the only good thing of the movie. Almost every actor was bad, the Indianisation of the dialogues were cringeworthy.

The way they copied the original movie shot by shot was very shameful. In this era of internet, almost everyone has heard of Forrest Gump so there was no logic trying to remake this movie in hindi. There is nothing wrong in taking inspiration and making a movie using the essence of another. However, they have miserably failed to add anything new to the already told story. This is lazy work and shows how afraid they are of taking risks. Expected a lot better from Aamir Khan.

Spirited Away (2001)

A bad movie which everybody loved.

This movie is a time waste. It is a 2 hour long movie but it feels longer than that. Like most Ghibli movies it is highly over-rated. Only visuals were got. Weak plot and the movie waits long to come to the point. No character development at all. Uses the word "Love" in the end to give the movie a romantic touch. I don't understand how this sorry excuse for a movie gets this much metacritic score. The movie has characters who serve no role in the plot. Would not recommend this to any adult.

A Series of Unfortunate Events (2017–2019)

A kids' show that can please adults.

They warn you. They tell you to look away. But you still watch it.

The show is beautiful in one word. The below 8 rating is understandable because people tend to forget that it is a kids' show. The show grows on you. The first two episodes were a bit dull. After that the real fun begins. It is a dark show compared to other shows made for kids. There are adult humors which adults will find funny. The character explain the plot points elaborately but that won't make you feel stupid. It's a wonderful comedy show you might consider watching.

BoJack Horseman (2014–2020)

Overrated, overhyped

This show is so shallow. Every character in this show is stupid and inconsiderate. Bojack is an who never does anything productive in any episode. His agent is another one and dont know what she sees in him. The amount people relating to this show shows the problem of this society. The kids, without even starting their lives, feel like they are 50 year old Bojack Horseman. The show doesnt have any deep philosophy or something. This show is for people who think they have deeper philosophy than anyother life in this planet.

Mission: Impossible III (2006)

Great in so many aspects

A very good addition to the series. A great movie after the first one. MI:II is must not be considered an MI movie, but this one here builds the foundation to take the series further. We get an insight of Hunt's life. The driving force of the MI series is Hunt's dilemmas. The movie begins to get into the MI universe with showing us what Hunt is made of and why he chooses what he chooses in the next films. The actions were a plus point, very few overuse of action is encountered. The action were basic nevertheless. But still the movie gives away many of Hunt's super spy skills like lip reading and webslinging across building. Got to say, Hunt is very lucky to survive so many life and death situation.

The acting was on point, the other characters other than Hunt hadn't have any significant challenges in acting considering the calibre of them. Tom Cruise grew as an actor and it showed if his performance from first two filmshas to be considered. I wish the movie was less predictable and avoided the cliches. It's a good movie to pass your time.

Pet Sematary (2019)

Sorry, I had to quit. Forced myself to watch this till the episode six of season one. It is so boring and so pointless that I don't to continue watching this. Where are the jokes? The jokes are supposed to be funny because they are not funny. A complete waste of time.

It's a movie so bad that it's good. Yet again nicolas case amazes us all with never seen before acting. His take on the accent is just funny. This is a fun movie to watch. You won't miss anything if you don't watch it. It's a good time pass with friends nevertheless.

Ponyo (2008)

Goes nowhere!

I don't know why this movie is so highly rated. A movie is not only about the visuals. The movie does not have a story. There is no character development, no conflict, no nothing at all. Only good visuals are present. Even the voice acting in English is wooden.

First the movie starts with a bit of promise. The audience get intrigued to know about the fantasy world, but soon it gets boring. A lot of unexplained things are there. In the end nobody gets the purpose of the movie. In the beginning it seems like the movie is about the imbalance of nature caused by humans. But soon it turns into an undigestable love story where a fish falls in love with a kid. And from then nothing really happens.

This maybe enjoyable for kids but there is nothing to look for if you are an adult.

Ishq Vishk (2003)

Bollywood at it's best.

This is what you search in bollywood. I believe it's a timeless piece of romantic comedy for teenagers. Those were the years when bollywood had it's own take on film making not like now where they are all copying from other movies.

Baar Baar Dekho (2016)

Lengthy and repeatitive

It's a typical Karan Johar set up. He has launched three new faces for the future here. The two boys did a satisfactory job but Alia's acting did not impress anyone. It's a good comedy movie.

I have watched 3 episodes and still haven't had a good laugh. What's with the rookie camera work? I have not seen the English version so there is no question of prejudice. I believe this will go on as an unpopular opinion.

Nothing new except for the worst opening scene in the MCU history. A mainstream action film which stands on a foundation created by the previous MCU movie. The plot is not good enough.

Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019)

Entertaining

It's good family entertainmen. The actions scenes are pretty good. The story did not have an eliment of surprise as all the spidy fans could already guess what will happen next.

The actors performed satisfactorily well. Samuel El Jackson was great as always. The special effects could have been better. Attention to details was missing. A busy place like Prague, gets literally empty in a fight sequence where only two of the side characters get stuck in a merry go round.

Overall it's a entertaining movie, but if you want to analyse it scene by scene then it's not your movie.

Live from Dhaka (2016)

Real, raw, explicit!

This is not a film, it is an experience. The portrayal of the story was so raw. It is the real story of Dhaka guys. It is so much relatable and this makes it a must watch. It is not like any other movie. The movie is a never ending struggle of a guy who lives in the busiest city of this third world country. His struggle is different, his pain is different, his love is different. A never seen before experience in cinema.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)

What did I just watch!

It's epic in one word. It is something, nobody has ever seen in cinema. The story revolves around Miles Morales, a kid from Brooklyn. Kingpin creates a collider which opens portal for parallel universes. Miles and other spidys team up to resolve the abnormality. The movie is so well made that there is literally no dull moment. The visuals are splendid. It felt like you are going through a great comic book and it is your imaginative world. The travellers from other universes pursued great character depth. The movie seems so comically realistic that you will be familiar with the laws of the cinematic-verse within the first half. The first half of the movie was too good. Then second half did justice to the first half. It is a never seen before experience.

Surely a must watch.

Debi (2018)

First of many.

Misir Ali is one of the most iconic fictional characters in Bengali literature. Anam Biswas, in his first film, does fair justice to the character. The two leads, Chanchal Chowdhury and Jaya Ahsan nail their roles as Misir Ali and Rano respectively. The lenght of the movie felt fairly short and couldn't reach the dept. The scipt is a let down for people who have already read the book. It is a must watch as it is the first Misir Ali appearance in big screen.
