Hitorijime My Hero (2017)
This Is How You Do A Romance!
This has been and will remain one of the best romance animes on the market, Especially where BL is concerned. It's got two romances, the better one is centric luckily. The characters are dynamic, the writing is good, and the story isn't over complicated. It's a gem in the Slice Of Life genre.
For a 12 part series, They did such a good job of fleshing out the characters and making you feel things for them. It's got plenty of twist and turns, It doesn't go too fast or too slow, It's just right.
This is one of those good animes that you can't really say anything too bad about. It's comedic, romantic, and it does a good job of getting you to care for these characters and how their "forbidden" romance works out, and I think that's awesome!
Doukyuusei (2016)
A cute Slice of Life.
It's a short, 1 hour experience that takes you through two boys' relationship over a year or two. It's really sweet, the characters are simple but relatable and It's really satisfying to watch.
For being only an hour, It got it's point across. It's a sweet, simple slice of life. I think the writers really did a great job with this one.
The art style is also something very different from what we normally see nowadays. It's simpler and fits the tone.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Loveless (2005)
A good anime, albeit short.
Loveless holds a near and dear place in my heart as the first anime I ever watched. It still holds up, but the anime doesn't do itself justice.
It's unfortunate that Loveless will never get a reboot or another 12 episodes to catch up with the ending of the Manga, as the anime only addressed Volumes 1 through 4.
It's an interesting take on the usually bland BL genre, and I find myself going back to it to rewatch it.
No. 6 (2011)
Okay anime, huge issues with the ending.
If I were grading just episodes 1 through 10, this Anime would be about an 8.
The ending is what kills it. It was so messy and all over the place, and highly unsatisfying. You go through this whole bonding experience of Rat and Shion, learning of one another and growing together, only for that to be discarded when they both die at the Final Episode, but then are resurrected at the cost of Safu's life. You keep the main characters but lose two dynamic side characters (Mr. Detective)
Which leaves us with a confusing ending of Shion and Rat finding a baby and hopefully spending the rest of their lives together, with the Wall of No. 6 being broken down.
It's a confusing ending, and I think this anime would've done a lot better with a simpler ending where everyone got to live, instead of resurrecting the two main characters you killed off a minute before and then dumping the most interesting side character of the series.
Super Lovers (2016)
Give It A Chance.
It's so unfortunate that people write this anime off due to It's first episode.
This honestly was one of the most well written, cute and enjoyable love stories I've seen **AFTER** the first episode. The first episode shows our main character as very young, but after the Time Skip that comes in Episode 2, that changes.
The anime itself is very satisfying and fun to watch, it portrays the relationship between the slowly maturing Ren and the still immature Haru very well, and how two people wildly different can come together with time.
Give this anime a chance, and if you enjoy it, watch Season 2.
