I would say Agent Whiteman from 1941 is the hero of the whole series. Besides the other three agents in different timelines. He's the one who got to know about time travel at the last, still, he played well with bravery and smartness. He's the one who eliminates both Mannix and Polly, takes revenge for Esther and dies with grace in both timelines.
Agent Mapplewood from 2053 made a blunder by shooting the Dofea still she's the 2nd best who figured out the timeline, rescued Defoe and played a major role in breaking the loop.
Agent Willinghead would say the useless role in the series, playing all the time Gay character with utter cowardness.
Other, all the characters has justified their rules. At last, series becomes slow but not too boring.
