Black Mirror (2011)
Great at what it wants, I don't like it.
I think this series is great. I really do. I find them very interesting and entertaining. However, in various episodes I found my self feeling anxious and overall sick, but that's not entirely bad. I mean, yeah, I don't like feeling that way while I'm trying to escape from the world and chill a little bit, but maybe that is what the producers want. To make you analyse all your beliefs, well, maybe not all, but some of them. And to make you feel what the characters are feeling, and there's where the series succeed.
In this review that I'll be updating from time to time I'll try to talk about each episode:
San Junípero: I've watched it for the first time by myself a couple years back and I found it boring, I didn't even get to the half of it, it was plain odd and I wasn't catching up on anything really. Three days ago, while chilling with my gf she told me to watch it together and that I'd enjoy it. And oh, my. God, did I enjoy it.
It's great done from the beginning to the end of it. It really achieves the surprise factor when showing, slowly, what is really going on and it gets to the bottom of your heart while it develops. I think it's a great love story even though it still slides a little bit of a crisis internally about what is really to be dead.
Overall it is a great episode, that didn't make me feel that bad because is one of the few that have a happy ending, and I loved it. The story that it tells is greatly transmitted as well as the characters feelings, and it still leaves you wondering what death really is while giving kind of a warm feeling because of that happy ending.
