Unnecessary follow up to a solid original
20 July 2018
This is a film that spends most of its time in a haze. A bunch of unrelated set pieces loosely being woven together by such a small string. There aren't really any stakes for Denzel's character. I love this director, but I don't understand how he read this script and signed on. The only thing great in this movie is Denzel's performance.

Refreshing original
8 April 2018
Reminded me a bit of Signs, but overall a terrific, refreshing original horror/thriller that is extremely well acted, edited and directed. Apart from a little too much "let me explain this to you" in the end, which was not necessary, it was a great watch. Loved having a bad guy that whose origins were unexplained.

Let down

Warning: Spoilers
You'd think a movie that is about humans settling titan would involve space travel. This movie was a waste of time, embarrassingly bad

Well acted, but completely unnecessary reboot
1 April 2018
Big fan of the original Angelina Jolie movies. This film, worked with the same or worse material, but didn't up the ante enough to justify a full reboot. Nothing especially original about it, though it was well acted. Shocked if there is ever anothr sequel.

Uniquely shot, but an average story/movie
1 April 2018
It's clever to have shot the whole thing on an iPhone, but erasing that, it's an average story, very predictable, though excellent performance by Claire foy. Nice to see soderburgh making movies again, just wish he had better material to work with.

A bloated nostalgia packed blockbuster

Love Spielberg films, this is a great one. Biggest complaint is it's 45 minutes too long for the story that exists in the film. Well acted, and the Kubrick stuff is great.
