Season 1 was great....

But Season 2 is a real drag - Such a shame as Season 1 was great, much better thought out plot and kept you hooked, now I just want to finish it and move on to something else.

Moronically cancelled - Great show.

Why oh why was this cancelled??

Excellent show and one of the best in its genre, such a shame it was cancelled and goodness only knows why - As you can see in these reviews it had quite a following.

Seasons 1-3 Fantastic - Season 4 a let down.
19 October 2020
Have really tried with Season 4 as Fargo is one of my favourite shows on TV. Episode 1 was OK but now however after 5 episodes I've decided I don't really care about the story and there are a lot of better shows to take my time. Very disappointing and really not worthy of the Fargo branding.

10 stars for Seasons 1-3.

Great indie movie
17 June 2020
Would recommend this title to anyone but good luck finding a way to watch it, have been waiting for a DVD/Stream release since watching it at the cinema.

When (If?) it is finally released make sure to get a copy, support the team behind this magnificent production.

No Wonder They Held It Back
19 November 2019
Boring yawn-fest with CBBC effects and a totally unnecessary and very 21st Century sub-plot.

What this story needs is the kind of love and detail that only a Director with passion for the novel (and a big budget!) can deliver.

What Peter Jackson did for Tolkien we need someone similar to do for War of the Worlds.

The impression I had was this production team were not passionate about War of the Worlds, H.G.Wells or maybe even scifi generally. Instead it seemed to me they were dumped with this project and so glossed over the alien invasion part and instead hijacked it as a vehicle for a modern agenda and made that the story instead.

Please god will I still be alive before someone actually produces a period accurate, book accurate, Thunderchild scene including, non budget limiting, visual representation of the original book ?

A message for all scriptwriters -

1. When involved in the representation of a classic masterpiece be accurate to the period it was set in, do not try to re write history with inserted modern sensibilities that simply did not exist at that time.

2. Do not be so arrogant as to think that your tinkering can improve on a literary classic, that you are somehow more skilled than the original author and can improve on their tale.

3. Do not do projects that you know require a very significant budget when you only have a limited budget. Bad effects are worse than no effects at all - some pictures can get away with near zero effects and are all the better for it (eg. the excellent Let the Right One In) but some like War of the Worlds you simply cannot do with out effects, so if you don't have the budget to do it justice then just don't do it. The money (UK TV License Payers money!) would be better spent on alternative projects.

It's quite clear the BBC can do amazing things War and Peace (2016), Peaky Blinders and even do big budget collaborations well as shown in His Dark Materials - How this got through the review board within the BBC amazes me, no wonder they were keeping it back for over a year and released it with so little fanfare they knew it was a **** up, what a waste.

So Disappointing....
15 December 2017
Around 2/3 of the way through I started looking forward to the end so I could leave the cinema and go home..... and I love Star Wars.

Villains are pathetic, do not come across as evil like the Emperor, Vader etc. In fact they are like Disney villains, like clowns trying to be bad..... The Dark Side would seem to be a place where villains with single digit IQ's go - instead of being sinister and evil they are laughable in their stupidity.

Characters I could not care less about - Fin, Rey, etc I couldn't care less about them. This is a terrible thing to say about a Star Wars film.

A story line that was all over the place, I got tired trying to keep up and I struggled to stay interested. This is a terrible thing to say about any Star Wars film.

I actually spent the last 45 minutes just wishing it to end (really I was bored and my mindset had got so negative it was no longer in any way enjoyable) and I was so pumped to see it...

Crushingly disappointing, cannot for the life of me understand all the positive hype and luvvy back slapping but at least from these IMDB comments I can see I am not the only one - The 'critics' and press made me think I would be the only one stupid enough to not like it - seems that's not the case.
