Bering Sea Gold (2012– )
5/10
Mixed bag
19 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Some of the personalities on this show are really good. Shawn knows what he's doing and always seems to be grabbing huge amounts of gold The Kelley's I find super annoying. Kris just shouts about his amazing plans yet it keeps failing. I liken his clan to the burglars from home alone. Just useless.

Zeke and his crew I find an intresting bunch. They just seem these free sprits that are doing good stuff

Vernon I cannot stand. All he does unlike the other captains is sit there, shout and keeps barking orders to his crew.about screw ups yet never seems to offer solutions or help.

Clarkson's Farm (2021– )
9/10
Usual Clarkson with a wholesome undertone
14 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I was looking forward to this series and it didn't disappoint.

While it contains the usual Clarkson ineptitude, it shows just how hard farmers have it.

The line 'most farmers don't have amazon or who wants to be a millionaire to fall back on' really rung true for me.

He shows just how weather dependent farming is and the fact that if its bad yields drop way off, if its bad at critical times yields suffer, if its bad during the growing season it affects yields.

I think in his Clarkson way he has really shown the importance of farming to the country and how much red tape farmers really have to go through. Just planting the vegetable patch in a spare field showed how many forms he had to fill in.

The supporting cast were great, even Gerald who we couldn't understand.

How Do They Do It? (2006– )

Really good program with one bad series
3 February 2019
I've always liked this program. Very informative. There is one blot. Series 14 in the UK was really poor. This had 'interviews' throughout the program with random scientists and experts. They would often say something nearly related but it detracted from the content of the program. I'm glad they've dropped it in series 15 and it's back to old ways.

Bird Box (2018)

Could have tied it off better with less filler
31 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The film is OK. Outstanding acting and great cast.

However this mysterious thing that just appeared and made people commit suicide, there was no dedication in any of the film to find out what it was or how to to defeat it.

When the film ended I was just like oh that's it. It left so much unanswered, other than how the school survived. It was a film that didn't really fi anywhere.

Wheeler Dealers (2003– )
5/10
Americans have taken a winning and unique show and made it 'generic'
15 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
In the early series of wheeler dealers Mike would go and buy a rough round the edges classic or other car. Give Edd a strict budget and then would usually make a profit. Edd would show us what he does, like how to tackle jobs like ime welding, electrics, even sometimes a bit of panel beating.

As the Americans started creeping in, the show lost its Character, rather than fixing and saving what's there. Now its a show similar to all other American car shows where they rip the soul out of the car and replace everything with modern components.

Ant isn't too bad, but there is no emphasis on the fixing of the car, this mustang episode, there was no showing of him removing all of the interior to send it off and then refitting it. There was very little detail on the fixing of the engine. Just 15 minutes of watching Mike polish a bonnet. That could have been cut way down.

Horrible Americanised "Documentary"
18 December 2017
What can I say. I've watched the first 5 episodes. All of which could quote easily be summarised in one episode if they cut out all of the repeated footage around advert breaks. If this was a decent English documentary like finding the Roman treasures in national geographic. Cut out off of the crap. They find what they need to find. No false suspense and waiting till the next episode.

Gone are the days when a documentary didn't have to appeal to someone with a single digit iq
