El caracazo (2005)
7/10
The event that leads us to the actual Venezuela
19 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
El Caracazo is simply a brief part made to fiction of what it was the 27F (februeary 27) to us venezuelans, it tales the story of what happen that day but doesn't come even close to what that day really was. the movie is bad, i mean there's bad scrip, terrible acting, terrible editing, terrible cinematography, terrible sound but it worth the way to see it if you want to know a little bit more of the 27F. I think that the fact that the movie doesn't work it's the scrip and the story.Personally i found really unnecessary the love story that develops in the movie between the 2 title characters, it does not focus enough in the "voicot" events which i think were really poor laking of extras and drama. whoever this movie does fulfill its target that is show us what happen to Venezuela after the events of 27. If you wanna know what happens next you may wanna see "amanecio de golpe" which is pretty much a sequel to this movie (even though el caracazo was release 7 years after the other movie was made)but i still think that the plot of the whole 27f was a great material to turn into a master piece of Venezuelan cinema, but the just ruined. my vote is 8

¡¡¡¡simply the best movie ever!!!!!
18 December 2006
OK first of all, i'm a guy (a straight guy) and i have to confess that "Thelma and Louise" it's my favorite movie of all time. Sure is a chick flick but even guys can enjoy it, what i love about this movie is the fact that most people see it as a feminist movie but it's so does not. The movie deals with the reality that most of the women are force to live now a days, first there's Thelma the typical housewives who's life goes around a probably unfaithful husband and all the "to do's2 of her house and does not do anything to risky cause "it might2 get her husband upset. Second there's Louise a 40 something woman who has a though past and leads her to become the strong (sometimes bitter)woman that she is now. And then there's the guys in the movie. I personally think that the grates are the 3 leading man interpreted gracefully by Harvey keithel (hal) Michael masden (jimmy) and christopher mcdonald (darryl) all of them give us a look of what it is the man perception from women's perspective (hal is the guy that seems to be perfect, compressive and brave but in the long run he is a guy and that is show when he talks about the (women shits) with darryl. Jimmy is the typical romantic guy that gives everything for his girl but that's all because he "loves the chase" and then there's darryl who happens to be the typical "macho man" that thinks that women are only on earth to serve their husbands) But anyway the movie in my opinion is just great, great scrip, great performances, great scenarios, and great directing. My favorite part of the movie is that cliffhanging ending that will remain as a cliffhanger perhaps forever. So if you really want to see this movie, ¡do it! you will not me regret and i will stay in your heart for the rest of your life. my vote is an outstanding 10 for an outstanding movie

The Butcher (2006)

what were they thinking?????

as a big slasher film fan i have to say this one, fulfill it's complement: be a horror movie. But there's just something about and it's the fact that: it's just wrong. When i was watching it at one point i though i was watching, wrong turn, then i star thinking about the Texas chainsaw massacre, then hills have eyes and finally i know what you did last summer, the movie it's basically a mix of all these other movies but unsuccessfully did what those other movies did, it's just so predictable, the scrip it's so weak and far beyond scary, instead of that it's so lame, with this thousands of clichés like "don't go in there" "what it's this place" "he's gonna kill us all" you basically know who's gonna die first and why called it "the butcher" there is no butcher in the film and there is not even a good slaughter, they should have call it "i know what the Texas hills wrong turned last summer" or something, honestly i don't know what a company spend money into making this crappy films. I give it a three because, well it's a horror movie after all, invite some friends over and watch it with pop corns in a boring Saturday afternoon. And for the record i should give this movie a zero but the lesbians really help it.
