Where has the R rated version been all my life???
5 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I liked this movie 20-odd-years ago. Today I watched the R rated version for the very first time; I fell in love.

I've never see such a difference between the Theatrical version of a movie and the Directors cut... where the ending is the same.

They should have never made a PG-13 version of this movie. I will never watch the PG-13 version of this movie again! It's not because of foul language or boobs... it's because of the extra scenes and dialogue that really make this movie pop!

Boner Jams '03 and Everybody Loves Raymond.
12 September 2021
This is probably the best comedy of the 2000's.

However, this was funnier for people in their 20s-30s when it came out because of the content/timeline.... and because of the cast...

the cast was almost like SNL lineup... steve from the office, seth from freaks and geeks, pual from that summer movie, romany from weeds, keener from john Malkovich..... there was a connection to all of them around the time this movie came out. And like I said the timeline of this movie is obviously dated. BUT this movie is stil funny AF!

Who needs a time machine?
11 September 2021
First off, If the time machine dinner scene doesn't make you laugh then you have no sense of humor... that is easily in the top 20 funniest scenes EVER.

I'm not sure why so many people hate this movie so much. Is it because Seth's character isn't a PC simp... even though he should have been since Katherine Heigl is hot and classy and he is slothly and sloppy....???

I've heard some people say that Seth's character is a narcissist. I'm not sure where they go that from... he ends up getting a job to do the right thing for the baby, he ends up reading the baby books for the baby, he stops hanging out with his sloppy friends for the baby, he makes sure the baby is delivered properly, he takes care of the baby after it's delivered...

If Seth's character was a narcissist he would have kept getting sloppy with his friends and said fuq all ....

I guess this movie pisses some people off because it shows women as hormonal and men as immature. But you know what, that's life! Women are hormonal at times, and men sometimes act like children. I guess that a lot of people don't like the idea of women being hormonal because it makes them look weak and mean... and when men act like children it's funny... so I guess this is a double slap in the face to people whom are offended by this movie.

Lastly, it's okay for men to be men... which means being their own person and not caving into a woman's every desire via pussyfooting-simping-virtue-signaling.

Amazon says this is a comedy
7 September 2021
This movie does have some funny parts and cutesy parts; Funny because of Geoffery Arend nd cutesy because of Joseph and Zooey, obviously. However, I wouldn't call this a comedy by any means... I wouldn't even consider this a dark comedy.

Maybe from a misandrist's perspective this is a comedy, but all around this move is pretty effed up. This movie wouldn't be funny to me regardless if the genders of the lead characters were swapped. Regardless, this is a good film, but I felt mislead by Amazon saying it was a comedy.

Hilarious movie with a good heart.

I go heavy-handed with my 10 star ratings but this movie definitely deserves it 100%.

I would put this movie in the top 10 funniest movies of the 2000's... and there was a lot of funny movies back then.

The Crush crushed it!
2 July 2021
This movie is basically the Hard Candy of the 90's, but instead of a gore-fest this film is a psychological thriller.

The cast is on point. Whoever did the casting for this movie sure crushed it! Cary Elwes is so likeable and loveable, and Alicia Silverstone is pure gold. I love her in Clueless and Batman, but she really slays it in this movie.

This is basically a story about when a young girl falls for an older man and things go sideways. I guess nowadays this movie doesn't make much sense from the lens of #metoo... instead of the older man being the monster it's the young female. Some people would say that Cary Elwe's character acted like an idiot, but these were much simpler times when people were nice and didn't want to be rude, unlike today. If anyone was stupid, it was Alicia Silverstone's character; she could have ended up with her feet sawed off chained to a bedpost in some remote cabin.

This is definitely worth the watch if you haven't seen it before. Sure it might be a tadbit dated, but human nature never changes! It might be predictable, but it's so well acted and masterfully executed!

Best of all the Vacation movies!!
2 July 2021
First off, It was Griswalds and it was WALLY... not Griswolds and WALLEY... some of you will know what I'm talking about.

Anyhow, I really love the original movie with with such a great cast, great set of boobs, even has my man John Candy, opening theme song is A++ and it's a family movie about an epic cross-country road trip!

However, the original is now dated. I hate to say that. And by dated I don't mean because of technology or language used, it's just the pace of the movie is troublesome nowadays even with such epic boobage! I mean wowzers! Please excuse me. I think she (Beverly D'Angelo) is still a fox even in 2021!

Okay back to the actual review of this movie. I think this is the best out of all the Vacation movies (even the newest one) because...

Chevy Chase is still in his prime

His daughter is smoking hot

This is probably Randy Quaid's best role (I loved him in Parents, Brokeback Mountain, Independence Day...and others.. I think he got a bad rap, but he is damn good actor

It's filmed in old world Vegas, plus amazing scenes inside/outside Hoover Dam

Wayne Freaking Newton

Beverly D'Angelo is still the mom

Wallace Shawn is the perfect jerk!

And this movie has a great pace... every moment of this movie is chockfull of entertainment.

I think they should make one last Vacation with Chevy and Beverly as the leads while they still can. A Crackle or Tubitv Exclusive... Retirement Vacation?

3 stars only because of that chubby Kevin Hart brobro
2 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The beginning of this movie is very confusing. They have a Satan lawn ornament for xmas, they're watchin soccer on Chistmas Eve, his wife has a bad butch haircut..... wth is going on here? I've never in my life seen such an evil Christmas!

This movie steals from Edge of Tomorrow (obviously) and the monsters are a creature with Alien bodies, Predator mouths, Tremor tentacles... and they remind me of the AI dogs from that Netflix show (Black Mirror, but instead of robots they're genetically engineered)... Also, they steal from the Starship Troopers. They have to capture a queen to figure out how to kill them. To make matters worse global warming is what wakes up the creatures. To make matters even super-duper worse The alien craft is piloted by what seems to be predators, to make it even that much worse-worse the monsters were meant to be used as weapons by the predators piloting the craft... just like um predators vs aliens... hmmmm? Oh yeah and the whole bit about the aliens being here the whole time steals from War of the Worlds. They stole from so many movies, but hey it's Amazon, its okay! They should have just named this The Edge of Tomorrow War of the Alien Worlds

And of course it has all the predictability you would expect from Amazon wokeness.

As for the good parts... the main character looks like Seth Rogen with a 6 pack... seriously how his this dude with such a chubby face packing a 6pack??? And the ONLY good aspect of this movie (besides the biology class room with the kid who likes volcanoes, u funny bro!) is the chubby Kevin Hart looking dude... comedic relief was greatly needed in this movie.

If it wasn't for the chubby Kevin Hart I would rate this as 1 because this movie stole from so many other movies and had the wokeness predictability 100%.

Lastly, this movie seems to be like a giant-monstrous ad for COVID-19 vaccines. At the end they develop a serum to kill the monsters. Call me crazy, but the serum could be seen as the COVID-19 vaccine and the monsters are COVID.

Also, here is my take on the ending because some people thought the ending was stupid that they went into the alien ship instead of just blowing it up. The reason it happened this way was because white people made the vaccine/serum... but the black folk sacrificed themselves... so in the end the black folk save the day.

Underrated film with a crazy, stupid good cast.
20 June 2021
Sean William Scott and John C. Reilly.. what's not to love??

First off, this is not a Mr. Woodcock nor is it a Step Brothers type of movie. I think this movie had/has trouble finding an audience... it's not the film that is the problem. When this movie came out people were still used to, how can I put this, "College Humor".... people wanted Bad Santa, Old School, Idiocracy, Road Trip, Waiting, The Nutty Professor II....yanno fart and dick jokes! This is not one of those movies.

Secondly, nowadays people have no attention span; young adults these days are used to movies with nonstop hooks... one-liners every few minutes... think Thor Ragnarok type banter (a movie which I love btw). Point being is, nowadays young adults want fantasy with nonstop one-liners; they don't want a movie about real life. And that's what this movie showcases... real life... Some people complained this movie has too much swearing, that happens in real life!

Furthermore, this movie isn't PC at some points, but it's not overtly anti-PC. However, it's banned from Amazon so that should tell you something. They probably banned it simply for the "Black Apples" scene. That scene wasn't meant to be funny nor racist... it was showing the viewer how naive John C. Reilly's character is; it wanted to show the viewer that he is just a simple, naive Canadian man but certainly not a racist.

The world that this movie portrays is pre-2000's... I'd say a good estimate of the setting of this movie would be 1996-1998, so most young adults won't like this movie nor relate to this movie. Even though we live in a "woke" society, most young people are completely consumed by their own ego and apathy towards their fellow person.... so they don't understand why the two principle actors have empathy for each other... they simply can NOT understand empathy. The inability to understand empathy bothers them to their core/root, so they don't like the movie.

Lastly, even though this movie isn't PC, doesn't have one-liners nor does it have slapstick comedy... it's a funny, dark-somewhat-dry comedy, movie with a TON of heart that showcases the struggles of two men who are simply trying to put food on the table for their families.

An underrated feel good movie.
11 June 2021
First off, some reviews of this movie are made by people who ONLY reviewed this movie and nothing else... that should tell you everything you need to know about these reviews.

As for this movie it's pretty funny. It's enjoyable. And yes it has Kevin James and talking animals. If you don't like Kevin James humor and the idea of talking animals sounds stupid... don't waste your time watching this movie.

This is a good movie with a good cast. I think this movie gets a lot of bad reviews because the director of this movie also directed Adam Sandler movies such as The Waterboy.

This movie has a some funny moments and a lot of heart. People whom gave this a bad review had no business watching the movie in the first place. If you knew you weren't gonna like this movie, there is no point in reviewing this movie. That's like someone who hates kung fu movies giving jean-claude van damme movies bad reviews because they don't like kung fu movies.

But this is one heck of a movie with so many feels!

It's damn near perfect. And Marisa Tomei is beyond sexy with the right amount of class. Everything about this movie shines. They really captured true life on film with this movie. This is a movie I can rewatch over and over again and still be impressed with everything!

Not sure what I watched. Inception wannabe.
10 June 2021
First off, I love PTA movies; Magnolia and Boogie Nights are two of my MOST favorite movies! But this.... I can't stand this movie.

Joaquin Phoenix thinks he's The Big Labowski meets Bob Dylan meets John Lennon meets Wolverine. All he does in the entire movie is smoke joints. I don't have anything against herb for the record but damn!

This movie is a great example of a good cast doesn't mean it'll be a good movie.

This movie reminds me of Inception; it thinks it's so smart, but it's actually dumb. And the people whom love this movie will say you just don't understand it, man.

2 stars just because of the cast.

One of Jackie Chans best movies!
9 June 2021
He has made so many good movies for such a long time, but I think this is in his top 3 movies. Yes it has dubbing, and 80s cheesiness feel feels but that makes it so damn good!

Nowadays kids probably won't like this, but us 80s and 90s kids think this is pure magic.

On a sidenote, I also think those really old school movies about the blind swordsman were epic to give you a frame of reference what I think is good.

About Schmidt (2002)

Simply boring; didn't age well.
9 June 2021
This movie has no audience whatsoever nowadays.

Almost no one under 50 will like this, and almost anyone over 60 wouldn't interrupt their 24/7 news or their murder-porn for this movie. That's why I say it has no audience nowadays.

I forced myself to watch this because I love Jack, and because it's a movie I didn't remember watching. I laughed maybe twice throughout the whole movie, but other than a couple laughs I felt no emotions besides that. Mind you I sat down to watch this movie in hopes of being moved... I felt nothing.

I give this 5 stars because of Jack and Kathy. If it weren't for these two actors this movie would be a complete flop. I love to watch certain movies over and over again. I can never see myself watching this movie ever again in my life; once and done!

And no I'm not being critical on this movie because of it's age. I still watch a lot of movies much older than this all the time. I, frankly, just don't think this movie aged well.... and not in the sense of Hackers... it's not the technology that makes this movie bad, nor PC, it's something else that I can't put on my finger on. For example I still like the movie Fargo. I think that movie has aged well even though it's 6 years older than this movie.

6 stars for Acting and Major Boobage. And yes, boobs don't need to be YUUUGE for guys to like them.
9 June 2021
I'm the type of person who will purposefully watch a movie halfway through and not finish it because the second half is rather disturbing. This happens to be one of those movies.

Another movie that comes to mind is Dead Poets Society. I know this is a weird movie to compare to Knock Knock, but it's the same principal. The first half of the movie is uplifting and wholesome, and the second half of the movie is a downer and unhealthy.

I get this movie is supposed to be disturbing. But the girls have no backstory. At least with movies like Girl House, which I found less disturbing than this movie, they gave a backstory of why the dude wanted to kill girls.

This movie gives no backstory; the movie just shows the girls are insane. This is bad for the movie and bad for the viewers. Its movies like this why there are more school shooters that are girls these days.

It's not right to glorify needless violence without reason. I find this movie to be a fapfest for misandrists.

My Name Is Earl (2005–2009)
10/10
Great show idea; amazing cast!... Internet killed the TV show...
8 June 2021
The first 2 seasons of this show were pretty epic; just like The Office. I believe that this show got cancelled because it was around the time when the very first iPhone came out and DSL internet finally became fast... people lost interest in TV sitcoms and were more interested in their fancy phones and fast internet. Also, YouTube started becoming popular around the time this show was cancelled.

Season 3 and 4 are still funny. There was no reason for this show to be cancelled after just 4 seasons! That was a huge let done to the fans of this show. This show should have gone on for at least 7 seasons.

An easy way for this show to come back would be with de-aging technology. I'm sure by now it wouldn't cost that much. If anything their voices would be slightly different but that would be overlooked.

Bring the show back!

****Edit****

Now that I've watched Season 1-3 again for a second time around, 15 years later, I've noticed a huge flaw in the show (besides the final episode). Before season 2 even ends the show losses it's innocence.

By losing it's innocence, I mean that the show takes a huge leap away from Earl and Randy sharing a bed in the motel room. It basically starts in Season 2 Episode 10... Earl acts completely out of character acting like a jackass, only thinking of himself... before this episode Earl was selfless, he would do anything for the list... he would subject himself to any amount of personal discomfort for the list, but in these two episodes he becomes completely self absorbed.

This is fully realized in Season 2 Episodes 21, 22 & 23... Where Earl puts himself on the list. This is against the WHOLE FREAKING LIST!!! First he was selfless and serving those whom he wronged, and now he is a self-serving jerk... and worst of all they're no longer living in the motel room. Earl and Randy living in the motel room and sleeping in the same bed was part of the charm of the show.

Without the motel room, the innocence was lost.

The only thing I can think of is that either the creator of the show ran out of ideas and jumped the gun (they could have done 4 seasons with Earl and Randy in the motel), or the creator of the show was given early warning of the shows cancellation.

Either way, sucks this only had 4 seasons... regardless I still I think this is a 10 star show!

Cheeseball movie with hot 80's babes.
7 June 2021
First off, check the google reviews on this movie; it's currently at 52%. If this movie was as bad as some people say it is it wouldn't have 52% of people liking it.

Secondly, a woman wrote this. I'm guessing that most people would assume that this was written by an immature-dbag-male chauvinist pig... but nope, it was written by a woman!

Lastly, this is a goofy movie that doesn't take itself seriously; they tell you from the start it's low budget movie, so your expectations should be low. As for the plot you shouldn't try to follow along. It's a cheesy 80's flick with some funny moments, nice eye candy and cool cameos.

This movie is actually pretty funny. However, nowadays a lot of people don't find anything humorous any more; most people find everything offensive.

This is a good movie to put on in the background when you're doing something else since it doesn't demand your full attention.

Not sure why there's so many negative reviews! Youngsters got triggered?
5 June 2021
First off, I missed some of the beginning of this move; I started viewing this when one of the bros touched the mirror. My friend had put the movie on. I had no idea what I was watching. At first I thought it was a remake of the lion, the witch and the wardrobe (but with adults). Soon after that I realized it was a multiverse movie and I thought, "Oh great! It's The Mandela Effect!" (A movie I have no interest in ever watching)

I don't understand how a lot lf people say the beginning was the best part! This movie gets more epic as it progresses. The only thing I can think of is that most people who hated this movie were hoping for a feel-good fantasy movie where a bunch of friends get super rich from exploting the multiverse and party like it's 1999 with chemsex orgy the end.....

This movie is true to life; there'a no escapism and it's raw AF... somewhat distrubing at some points.

Lastly, some people say this movie is confusing. That right there is a huge RED FLAG we are indeed soon entering IDIOCRACY "You never go full retard."

To those whom didn't understand this movie, I'm sorry there wasn't a narrator to tell you what was happening, nor was their any music to tell you how to feel.

This movie did it 100% correct; show, dont tell. I'm 39-years-old btw... but I consider people 30 and younger youngsters.

Edit:

Maybe it has bad reviews because of the old folks... Boomers need to know every detail of a movie for it to make sense to them.

So yeah, youngsters are left with a bad taste because of it being so dark, and old folks are mad because it just doesn't make sense.

For everyone else, stop thinking so much and enjoy the ride!

Tom Hanks in his prime.
19 May 2021
Tom Hanks best performance 100%.

Yes I love all his 80's movies, and Forrest Gump is one of my favorite movies. However, his other great movies are only great because of the movie itself ... In this film the only reason it's great is because of Tom Hanks... and tbh I don't really respect him as a person... but this is an amazing performance by Tom Hanks.

Edit: I take that back, Turner and Hooch is another movie that is only great because of Tom Hanks.... a lot of crappy dog movies out there... This is the best dog movie ever.

So if you're new to watching Tom Hanks movies heres my take...

1) Cast Away 2) Turner and Hooch 3) Forrest Gump 4) The Lady Killers 5) Big.

Bartleby (2001)
10/10
They need to make a remake of this!
10 May 2021
First off, this is a solid 8.5 out of 10... but I increased it to 10 since it's an underrated movie, and the main review for this is overtly harsh saying that this movie doesn't translate well in the present day.

I couldn't disagree more!

I believe this movie makes even more sense in todays dark times. To say this doesn't translate well.. is to say that we don't currently have an epidemic with mental illness. We live in a sick society where some people don't want to be..... Some don't want to be men. Some don't want to be women. Some don't want to be white (whatever that is!). Some don't want to be human. And some don't want to exist at all...that's my boy, Bartleby!

This is a quirky, dark comedy at first, and later on it becomes a depressing tale that anyone whom has battled with chronic depression can related to.

Sure this movie isn't for everyone (probably anyone younger than 30 need not apply), but if you love Crispin Glover this is a must watch! And anyone who's a Back to the Future fan has to love Glover.

Some would say it's dated because of lack of police. However, the police do eventually get involved. The business owner decided to have compassion on Bartleby and refrained from calling the cops, I'm assuming. Some people will put up with just about anything; I think this aspect is overlooked when viewing this movie. And some would say Bartleby would've been admitted to a hospital. Sadly, many people are overlooked by employers and/or their family members when it comes to mental illness. People do care, but they only care so much. So no, this isn't an awkward, unrealistic movie.. it's goofy, quirky and over-the-top sure! But it's anything but dated and unrealistic. This movie can also be appreciated through the lens of lawlessness we have. Nowadays, people can legally shoplift, camp in public streets, riot... and so much more.,, Why not Bartleby?

Oh yeah! Almost forgot to mention a great pro-tip to all the producers out there... They need to make a remake of this movie. Bartleby should be played by DJ Qualls (Road Trip & Hustle and Flow) and THE BOSS should be played by Danny Devito.

Perfect cast.... The slob (Ernest) should be played by Jack Black ala Orange County. Rocky should be played by Ryan Reynolds ala Waiting. And Vivian played by Marisa Tomei. Waxman played by Clint Eastwood. And Arnold as the Mayor. You're Welcome!

Wait till it's free.
18 April 2021
I bought this movie (on sale thankfully) because of the director, and because I love Steve Carell. I wish I had waited till it was streaming for free. Sure this movie has it's moments, but overall this movie is just too over-the-top... the best aspect of this movie is that you get to see a "younger" Steve Carell acting through his doll... And Steve does a wonderful job and so do all the other actors. However, this movie is just awkward and uncomfortable and too weird. Visually this movie is pretty stunning, but the story doesn't take you in and you don't care for the characters. And on a side note... this will make me sound old... the movie is just too darn loud. I think this was intentional to wake up the viewer...

Don't listen to the negative reviews.
22 December 2020
This is a great movie with a perfect cast. It's one of those movies that gets better the more times you watch it.

I think a lot of people rated this poorly just because it was Robin Williams last movie (besides that movie he voiced the talking dog), and in this movie Williams plays an angry, non-PC drunk.... a lot of people want to remember Williams as the fun-lovin' goof. I get it. But hey, Williams acting in this is on point!

Also, within the first 5 minutes or so the movie makes reference to smoking meth, murdering a hobo, the daughter mentions something about BJs, and one of the characters is a "sex offender". That may sound like a lot horrible things to incorporate in a Christmas moive, but this is a funny, warm movie that feels real and authentic.

Basically it's not your typical cheeseball Christmas movie.

There are so many feels to this movie. I was 12-years-old in 1994. 1994 was the best year of the 90s ... every decade has a certain special year. 1994 and 2005 best years so FAR!!! 2010 peeked too soon 2011 was the best year of twenty-tens.

Beautiful movie!
9 February 2020
This is more of a story about father and son than it is about chef and food. Sure the movie has food porn in it, but this is really a warm, heartfilled movie and Favreau delivers!

Firstly John Leguizamo is looking great; whatever you're doing Papi keep it up! Then there is Dustin Hoffman as the restaurant owner and Scarlett Johnhanson, smashing!

Can't say enough good things about this movie!

One star removed because they went to Austin for BBQ. I thought this cheap, unthoughtfull, sellout part of the film.
