The Patent Scam (2017)
This corruption affects Everyone & Must be stopped ASAP!
Legal Extortion! Why would anyone even try to start a business until this is fixed?! I'm surprised the DW hasn't been used to hire Poetic Justice angels to at least teach them a lesson. If only the ending provided more guidance for us to help.
I Know This Much Is True (2020)
Great acting but terrible story!
Painfully slow and boring. It's not worth watching hours of this horrendous crap just to get to the redeeming last ten minutes. What is wrong with so many people that enjoy this darkness?!
Rememory (2017)
Thought Provoking
We are so much more than just a compilation of memories. We're also the knowledge, imagination, intentions, goals, hopes and the contracts our souls come here to experience.
If a device like this could erase traumatic memories, that would replace antidepressants and antianxiety medications. I doubt our brains would then implode just because of those gaps.
Most intriguing is the possibility of altering one's perception of their reality to the degree that it actually seems physically real.
This movie does a great job showing that mind over matter is our most powerful tool!
The Discovery (2017)
Intriguing
This was disappointing for several reasons.
They never explain his original so-called proof of an after life, which should have been amazing considering so many people were checking out to get there.
The device capable of recording our brain's memories and imagination was very interesting, but obviously it could not do that for souls because they've already left the body.
Jason's attempt to record his own showed nothing more than wishful thinking. To prove that life could be altered through death they needed to bring him back from the machine and then show him actually living that new life.
This movie does a good job drawing you in and building expectations but then it drops the ball.
The Isle (2018)
Almost good
This mystery kept me interested but the climax was disappointing. The plot was mostly based on Siren mythology until they screwed that up near the end with nonsensical crap. The ghost of a murdered woman taking control of the women does not tie in with that at all.
Danger One (2018)
Lame
Predictable and not funny! Not even worth finishing.
Level 16 (2018)
Shocking!
Immerse yourselves into this unpredictable tale of extreme and gruesome greed!
Charlie Says (2018)
Sad
It's so sad that people can be this empty that an insane person could manipulate them into doing such horrific things just to feel loved. Realistic acting!
Coherence (2013)
Mind bending!
This thought provoking thriller definitely keeps you guessing!
I do wish it explored more outcomes at the end instead of leaving you hanging.
Wounds (2019)
bad
I can give this movie credit for being thrilling but unfortunately that's about it.
It's a complete contradiction. The initial quote and references throughout regarding Gnosticism don't add up. If humans are in control of their own destiny then there's no point to creating a portal for higher beings to fix them.
Also, the characters don't have enough depth to make a psychological epiphany believable.
It started with an interesting rhythm that really could've been good if they'd wrapped it up in several directions, but they just leave you hanging on nonsensical baloney.
Luce (2019)
Thought Provoking!
I kept expecting Luce to be a terrorist sleeper! Super engaging all the way through.
Shrill (2019)
Boring knockoff of Dietland!
Don't waste your time on this crap. Dietland is so much better!
Anesthesia (2015)
Poignant, raw, sincere, heartfelt and entertaining.
Anesthesia is a good title referencing the methods people use to escape, deal with and numb life's myriad of pain as opiates like pot, heroin, alcohol, sex, love, an affair, self-mutilation, charity, heroism and technology. Despite the huge impersonal gap caused by tech, this snapshot of one area shows how little our human dilemmas have changed and how interconnected we still can be. I enjoyed the storytelling, the acting and the philosophy. I do wish the end wasn't quite so abrupt though, leaving a feeling of loose ends.
The Irishman (2019)
Well Done!
Despite all of the naysayers and historians, this story is believable. Of course Frank is going to deny the truth until he's literally on his death bed, at which point he then refused to eat until he died. The police have proof he was in the area when Hoffa disappeared. Even the way he worded his confession in the book shows he was being careful until the end. He was obviously protecting his family from mob retaliation. Plus the quote from some mobster trying to discredit Frank is a useless biased joke. I also trust the intuition of the detective that took his interview and Robert DeNiro's, that both believed him, far more than any of the overinvested or shallow critics.
Heal (2017)
Inspirational and Transformative!
Even for those of us that already know it, it helps to be reminded of the mind body connection. Life is full of distractions that get us off track. This documentary shares some guidance toward necessary healing methods often forgotten. I'm so thankful for finding this!
