Slaughterhouse-Five (1972)
Probably the best anti-war movie US could afford
Vonnegut exhibits the true nature of war, as politics by other (and usually very brutal) means. A story never gets old, never to be forgotten. No heroes or romantism, just the same old animal instinct of power and hegemony. No winners. Losers are always the human beings, its culture and values. That's all war is about.
"Schlachthof-fünf" was actually the name of the slaughterhouse where Vonnegut and the other Allied POWs were kept in Dresden. The ally bombing of Dresden, this bombastic baroque city once known as the "Florence of the North" and the "most beautiful historic city", is a true story which transformed the whole city into a real slaughterhouse.

Staub auf unseren Herzen (2012)
A sad, witty, hopeful film with excellent acting
To begin with, this film is a delightful farewell to the great actress Susanne Lothar (Chris, Kathi's mother) who has died six months before the release of the film, at the age of just 51.
But this is certainly a Stephanie Stremler (Kathi, 30-year-old single mother) film. Her acting suits very well to the attitude of Hanna Doose (director & writer in her first feature film), with lots of improvisation,
This beautiful emancipation story of a young woman warms your heart.
Match Point (2005)
Probably the worst Woody Allen film ever
Second class lead actors desperately emulating their European equivalents, a shallow but ambitious comedian-director longing to transform into an esteemed auteur, worn out Hollywood cliches one after another... pathetic.
Probably one of the best examples of how the bad money drives out good cinema.
