The Last Czars (2019)

I liked it, but I found a few things problematic

I'm very interested in Russia and was excited to watch this series, however it just felt a little too BRITISH to me. Most of the characters spoke in an eloquent English accent, apart from Rasputin who sounded like he was from Yorkshire. Russians that I read about tend to have a blunt, assertive tone especially soldiers, guards, people in power etc. these characters were just lacking that authentic Russian aura. (I hope that makes sense).

Apart from that, I found it to be very interesting and educational, I loved the historians input throughout. It is an exceptionally interesting period in history, and if you are wanting to learn more about Russian history I promise you will enjoy this.

Normal People (2020)

Beautiful

I wish I could do justice to this series in this one short review; however I can't find a way to describe the emotions I felt whilst watching this beautiful piece of film. The characters are thoroughly relatable and I truly adore them both, Marianne's emotional and physical responses to the turmoil she faced struck a cord with me and left me questioning aspects of my own life. I would wholeheartedly recommend this series to anyone and everyone, there are a lot of lessons to be learnt, and a lot of beautiful moments that will linger in your mind for some time after you have finished watching :)

The Netflix trailer gets it wrong!

I found the Netflix trailer for this series unbearably cringe-worthy, however I didn't cringe watching the series! I actually really enjoyed the characters, the story line and the emotional aspects that were intertwined with the plot... It was fun to watch, and very easy to binge-watch - would recommend to anyone who is considering it!

This film is thoroughly entertaining - although it is brilliant for seeking to be seen as a metaphor for modern society, I would like to point out that it is also captivating to anyone who merely seeks to watch a cool horror movie! I loved it for the symbolism the most, however I feel most of these reviews would deter anyone who merely wants to watch a good horror film :D a very interesting concept, don't miss out on this!

Ophelia (I) (2018)

Beautiful

I thoroughly enjoyed this film, the characters were beautiful, the story was beautiful, the emotion and drama was captivating throughout - I see most of the poor reviews are from people who are well versed in Shakespear and are complaining about its lack of resemblance to the original play... I personally think that this film does justice to the romance, tragedy, and action you would find in a Shakespearean play. I adore the character of Ophelia, and I would recommend this film, especially to anyone who enjoys romance/period dramas :)

Mary Shelley (2017)

Because of the low score I wasn't expecting much from this film but I really got a lot out of it, it made me feel a mix of emotions throughout, I would definitely say this film was worth watching. I absolutely loved it

This is my all time favourite series, constantly on the edge of my seat dying to know what happened next I finished this series in 2 days and have watched it 3 more times since. The characters are incredible, all very complex and different but truly captivating, this series is a must watch!

This film was flawed on so many levels, if you decide to watch this just think to yourself: is this in any way realistic? I ended up creased watching this film because of how stupid it was, but then I soon just found it annoying because it literally never ends
