Squid Game: The Challenge (2023)
Why so much hate?!
This is NOT Season 2 which some seem to think and be dissapointed by. I LOVED the Series like most people.
When I saw this "game show" drop, i had zero interest.
BUT, hey why not? I was suprise how quickly I was reminded of the original series, and how this reality (NO THEY ARE NOT ACTORS) show brough intensity, emotion, and excitement. I binged the first 5 episodes in one night. Now, had I not watched the ACTUAL show it would have meant a lot less - personally I have loved it. I really don't get all the hate.
The set is literally just like the actual show, you don't know what is going to happen next, so much going on and I really enjoy the fact that this is REAL verses a tv show. I even likle the way someone is eliminated..nostalgic. :)
Barbarian (2022)
Fun Ride
The acting was very good..starts out calm and moves into a mystery of what is going on, different peices are put in -without any spoilers. I will say. Not a ton of gore, so if you dont like gore, this will totally be fine. While there are uncomfortable moments, and definite jump scares that make it entertaining for us horror fans. I gave it a 6 for a reason i cannot say or would be a spoiler. I did see it in the theater , and after watching felt that i could have waited for it on streaming and would have been more satisfied. Definitly enjoayble . If you have a movie pass then sure see it in the theater.
Purple Hearts (2022)
Way Better Than Expected - WOW the Chemistry
I thought, oh a nice little romantic movie. The beginning caught me by suprise with the way the relationship was between the two, which definitly brought my interest up. The story was good, the backstory of each character was also good. It really was just about the two of them however, everything else was just there to make this story of them. And I also didn't love her singing in the beginning, but man later, LOVED it. I really really enjoyed this movie and will probably watch it again. I would say mostly due to the chemistry and the way it all went. If you like romance, especially with a little friction, I recommend this for sure. :)
The Weekend Away (2022)
Don't listen to the Haters...Enjoyable Who Done it
I was interested right away when I saw the trailer, then when it came out and I saw the reviews, I was like nah, maybe not. I put it off for months. Finally I said screw it.
It kept my interest from the start. Didn't know who did what or what happened or why. There was a few different stories within the main one which I also enjoyed. The acting from the lead was fine, not great but maybe it was just the film. However, all the other actors I found to be very good. I found it to keep my attention the entire movie, which is not easy to do these days. There are so many suspects and how that is was even great. Was it GREAT? Not really LOL, but very worth the watch. I say go for it if you want a generally fun who done it.
The Last Letter from Your Lover (2021)
A bit of Notebook ..with a classic tale..touching
I really enjoyed this..touching, sweet, want for more..with another little present moment mixed in. Entire cast was great.
Sad moments, happy moments...

I would ignore the low raters..here's why..
I saw the trailer and was very interested. Then when released on 1st episode..I found it to be slow..and I was not particularly impressed, but curious enough to hang in..and in truth I was not digging the main actors dry kind of (no disrespect) hum drum acting ..got to episode 2, more evolved in the story...I became more curious, and definite confusion, what?! ...on to E 3...and 4..by then I was literally sucked in..and so many times I thought it was going a certain way and I was wrong..totally screwing with my mind..I would have watched the whole thing in one sitting but had to work. I am about to watch E5..I love this..and now the main actor works perfectly I think...so..I recommend watching AT LEAST 2 episodes. Had I just watched 1 or read these bad reviews first I may hsve not bothered. Enjoy! Oh..yes some creepy parts or eerie..a little scary..and some mild horror..in case you need to know.
tick, tick...BOOM! (2021)
Just awesome
Love true stories first off..but im super impressed with Andrew...very touching, fun quirky artistry here. Just loved it.
It is quite a bit of a musical...just in case its not your thing. But lovely.
La Brea (2021)
Its Not horrible...Im enjoying it. :p
I went in thinking it would totally suck. ( based on rating and reviews...that helped lol. I'm on E 3, no it not great, but its fun, interesting, a bit if mystery. Some actors are great..a few not so much..but I will finish it. Probably won't make it unless the writing gets better... ya...blah..but still watching.
Ojing-eo geim (2021)
A bit of intense hunger games feel
Not often do I watch foreign films but sometimes there is a jem. This is one for sure. .Do yourself a favor dont dub it in with your language, hear and feel the real actor, his or her voice and emotions. The subtitles will come easily after the first 15 mins.. . I found the acting great..just ignore the VIPS part lol..that passes fairly quickly anyway..otherwise some you may become fond of, it causes emotions to rise and fall, there is mystery, suspense, some comedy, but mostly it holds you on the edge to what will be next. Who is who..and so forth. I enjoyed so much I went on the hunt for another Korean show..im now enjoying (not as good as Squid in my eyes)Sweet Home. Highly recommend Squid.
Seuwiteuhom (2020)
Definitly good intense, scaryish alot to see
I thought it was a bit silly at first and njoabke, but wasn't sure I would make it past E1 but the creatures or monsters or zombies, you chose, were shocking and scary enough with intense moments that I just couldn't stop watching..mind you I am on E2..but I find more things to like about it as it goes on.
Splinter (2008)
Fun, intense enough
Good acting, keeps the interest, not cheesy like some..i.didnt notice the camera shake people mentioned..I enjoyed it.
Greenland (2020)
I love this type of movie....
I was excited, there was definite suspense and the acting was fine, I enjoyed it, but all in all it was same old same old...and just left me mildly dissapointed when it was over. But it's good to fill in with some popcorn.
I Care a Lot (2020)
