The Politician (2019)
Crazy, messy, but wildly entertaining
It's not the best written or highest quality show, but it's really fun if you don't take it too seriously and enjoy it for what it is, and the ending of season one is great. Easy binge
Better Call Saul: Bad Choice Road (2020)
Incredible writing and perhaps the most intense scenes in the show
This season keeps outdoing itself with each episode. I am blown away by this one. Gripping, grim, and filled with suspense, it has everything I love about this show. I love the fact that these episodes are bringing together all the storylines they've built. That being said, I can't describe how intense this episode is. Left me breathing heavy for several minutes after it ended. Cannot recommend this show enough
The Good Place: Help Is Other People (2019)
Strongest wooded so far this season
This episode has everything I love about this show. It was unexpected, creative, and engaging. Can't wait for the final episodes, this was easily one of the best of the series
The Flash (2014)
Was so good... was
The first season of this show is an outstanding superhero tv show, and just an outstanding tv show overall. The story kept me so captivated and interested, and while it had a lot of relationship drama, it was still a show I looked forward to every week
Season two, while it didn't reach season ones highs, was still comparable in quality. After that, it starts to go downhill, and fast. The writing just got so bad, unbearably. The fourth season starts as an improvement on the second, but soon just drags. Season five is all over the place. Some good, some bad, some unwatchable. In fact, I've missed episodes and still felt like I missed nothing, gone back, and been correct. This show would benefit so much if it had a 10-13 episode season.
Watch the first two seasons, they're great. After that, there are some great episodes, specifically season three's Infantino Street, but overall, it's less than mediocre past season two
Better Call Saul (2015)
Fantastic and Gripping
If you want an action packed tv show, this may not be for you, but if you want a series full of great characters, writing, and a well-told story, this is the show for you
I was interested for the first season, and liked the second season a little more, but the third season was absolutely the best season of television in 2017.
The characters are all very complex and very well acted (specifically Chuck), which takes a great show from a 9 to a ten, and I will be following the fourth season
Us (2019)
Absolutely fantastic movie
I'm surprised to see a lot of 4-7/10 reviews for this movie, because I thought it was amazing the story and acting were encredibly engaging, it was one of the most fun movies I've ever watched. I was surprised at how gory it was, but it really kept me on the edge of my seat.
It is also a movie I hope to watch again so I can catch all the hidden details, its clear a lot of thought and planning went into making this movie and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes horror movies and/or really good movies in general
BoJack Horseman (2014)
Phenomenal
When my friend told me that I had to watch this show, I took it into account and started it the following week.
I can't say I loved it at first. The pilot was pretty funny, the second episode got a bunch of laughs, but I didn't see what he saw in it. By the end of the first season, however, I did a complete 180. Downer Ending is the first of many reasons why this show deserves a 10/10 rating
This show grows and finds its place as the seasons go on. Personally I think season three is it's prime. It shows how the show can balance humor and seriousness and it stays with you for a while after watching. The last four episodes of this season are outstanding
It's the characters in this show that make it so good. Bojack, Diane, and Princess Carolyn especially stand out as the strongest.
But it's not just the leads who I root for. Even recurring or guest characters make the show better. Wanda, Herb, Judah, Yolanda , Gina, Sarah Lynn, and Beatrice, despite not staying the full run of the show, have so much depth. In one single episode, Beatrice's mother becomes a favorite.
The humor in this show is top tier. The things you catch on rewatches, the wordplay, the puns, rarely don't land. And have often made me laugh out loud for real, and not just smirk or smile
This show is absolutely amazing if you give it a chance, and is without a doubt the best Netflix original
Steven Universe (2013)
Great show... sometimes
This show is highly loved and for many good reasons, but it has a lot of problems as well
The fan base can be a bit insane sometimes which of you like discussing tv online and with friends can make the experience a little less good
Second, this show has some seriously great episodes, like Bismuth, the trial, and jailbreak, but it also has a lot of filler, like more than half of the episodes. I get the importance of building character, but it makes it hard to follow the show when there's such a difference in quality between the filler and plot driven episodes. The story is great, but a good portion of it is forgettable
Finally, the scheduling for the show is terrible. It's so hard to watch the show when it only airs a few episodes overly couple of months.
If this show was more concise with its storytelling and more consistent with its scheduling (perhaps just taking bigger breaks in between seasons to air the seasons as a whole), it would make it better, even though I know a lot of that has to do with the channel not the shows creators
There's also a lot to like about the show, and when it has good episodes, they're really, really good
I know there are a lot of people who like this show, and I can see why, but it's not a personal favorite of mine
Gravity Falls (2012)
Top 3 animated shows
This show is amazing, and I highly recommend it for anyone that enjoys quality animation
Alex Hirsch's humor, voice acting, and characters are all to be appreciated, but my favorite thing about this show is that it's mysteries are possible to solve.
He left so many clues to the reveals in season 2 episodes 7 and 11, and the coded keys at the ends of the episodes made the show a ton of fun to watch when they aired.
The two main characters are charming and relatable, and the side and recurring characters are unforgettable
The show pushes the limits of kids entertainment a bit in some episodes, but it doesn't make the show innapropriate at all.
The episode not what he seems is possibly my favorite episode of tv, and I was blown away the first time I watched it. Finally, I love that the series ended after the story was done instead of dragging on.
I love this show, and rewatch often
