Escape the Field (2022)
Bad acting and no plot what so ever
This movie really did not make any sense what so ever. The characters were boring and the acting was all over the place. This movie started off very interesting in the beginning but as soon as they introduced Tahirah Sharif is when the movies gets stupid and uninteresting. Omg all she did was scream and cry all through the movie to the point I was hoping someone would kill her off. This happens at the end credits and by then you really don't care. She definitely needs to go back to acting school. This movie took elements from previous movies such as the cube, escape room, and Saw but not effective executed. Shane West must've really needed the money because this is the second movie, the first one is Mid Century, that he can not act his way out of a paperbag. He acted the same way in Mid Century and that movie was not worth the watch either.
Halloween Ends (2022)
I was very disappointed in this movie..
I enjoyed watching Halloween Kills so much that I could not wait to see how this one ends and it is not worth the watch. Now the Corey story was a great build up but the director or screenwriters lost focus on what to do with his character at the end and decided to have him killed by the grandmother. WOW. There was no suspense or thrill in this movie and the fight scene between Laurie Strodes vs the shape was so not worth even talking about. How is Laurie who was always running scared in every movie all of a sudden in this movie, have the strength to take out Micheal Myers all by herself. No, what the directors should have done was use Corey's storyline as the next Micheal Myers buildup or something. Do not go into this movie believing all the hype.
Nope (2022)
Come on Jordan Peele stop making boring movies.
Jordan Peele was on a roll with the 1st two movies he put out in the beginning of his career before he became famous. Now that he is somewhat well known in the movie industry he is beginning to feel himself and put out boring and slow cook movies like this, that do not make a lot of sense. A movie like this has already been done but the only difference is that those did not have minorities playing the lead roles. I am starting to feel like Jordan Peele and his movies are hitting a one note with no surprises, suspense, or common sense that tie an ending to his movies. This movie was slow and very boring and I do not see what the hype was all about.
Candyman (2021)
A complete waste of time to watch. Go watch the orginal.
This movie was truely a waste of time to watch compared to the orginal version. I do not know what Jordan Peele was thinking in recreating an updated version when the orginal was so much better. I did not like any of the actors in this movie and can barely remember the gay couple as well. I found myself having to pause to grab a cup of coffee to keep awake. This movie had no new elements and lets not talk about the stupid ending of the movie. I think most of Hollywood is running out of ideas and as I get older I am seeing most directors are bring back or should I say recreating a newer version of some of the 80's/ 90's movies in which this is a prime example. Folks you have been worned.
Terrifier 2 (2022)
Worth the Watch
I really don't write reviews for most horror movies but this one was worth the watch. I don't know why people are rating this so low. If you watch the part one of this movie like I did, it does tie into the 2nd movie with even flow. Yes there is gory scenes but its not like we haven't seen it all before. And I do not see what the fuss was about people walking out of the movie theaters becasue they could not stand see it. I truely feel that most people are rating this movie due to not seeing the 1st movie several years ago. I hope the director and sceenwriters do not miss the mark with part three.
Firestarter (2022)
Bad movie remake by Blumhouse not unusual from this company
This movie was soo bad that I had to make a review about it. Where to begin the casting was all wrong and Zac Efron playing the dad was not it. I am tired of Hollywood picking the same actors who cannot act their way out of a paper bag to play serious roles. It even looked like he wanted to break out of character and crack a joke here and there. Even the so called "female" evil villain Gloria Elizabeth was so lame to the point she was say corny lines throughout the whole movie. This pathetic movie does not even compare to the original Firestarter of 1984 and is not worth wasting your time watching it. Watch the original and you will see what I mean by that. This movie just felt like something was missing throughout the whole movie as if there were not enough actors or even hitch men playing in this movie. It felt a little off. There were some scenes where the little girl uses her telepathic abilities on certain individuals and it looked so fake and lame I could not believe the director kelp those into the final cut. I am still not over those scenes omggg.
Nobody's Fool (2018)
Another Tyler Perry's flops
This movie was a complete garbage and a waste of time seeing. I am tired of Tiffany Haddish playing the same type of characters the getto black female. It is pathetic and only says that all she has to offer as an actor is a 1 dimensional role which that is not talent. Now you can play the getto black female role as long as you are funny and that she is not. She actally ruined the movie more for me and was very irritating whenever she was in a scene. Tyler Perry needs to start having other people write, direct, and screen his movies instead of himself because as of lately he is making alot of small screen TV and big screen movies that are garbage.
Glass (2019)
Movie was enjoying to watch as long as you saw the previous releases..
Make sure you see the previous movies leading up to this one or you will be very confused as to what is going on and to what you are watching. I was inpressed that this movie leads to a little bit of mystery as to the characters being played which in the end made this very enjoying to watch. Definitely see this one for yourself.
Frozen II (2019)
Movie was very boring and the plot was copied from every other disney movie seen.
I was all hyped up to see this movie with my family in the theater and to tell you the truth this movie was not all that great. The main plot was copied from every reverage Disney type movie but the only difference is that this movie included alot of singing. The animation was on point but that was it. While watching this movie the whole time I was saying to myself is this it and I am ready to go. Now the disney creators had well over 7 years to get this right and it seems like they just wanted to make a quick buck off from the first Frozen movie and knew people would go see this one no matter what. Disney needs to do better with their sequels because this was not it. Wait until it comes on demand or DVD.
The Stuff (1985)
This movie was a waste of time to watch
The acting in this movie was horrible to the point where it was unbeliveable to enjoy. The director was very lazy in making many cuts in the film that you as the viewer can see the errors. The plot did not make any common senses, the actors could not act their way out of a paper bag especially that Michael Moriarty character and this movie made the army look like a big joke in the end. This movie is not worth watching or even given a second thought to. The blob was better than this crap.
Halloween (2018)
Welcome back Laurie Strode
This movie was worth watching. Jamie Lee never fails to give a good performance and for those Micheal Myers fans, do not go in thinking this movie is the Holloween film series follow up to the rest because you will get confused. This movie is only the direct follow up for the (1980) Holloween parts 1 and 2.
Extraterrestrial (2014)
Predictable plot and ending
This movie started off good and then failed to keep the pace of the movie with a predictable ending. All you get is some dumb teenagers trying to act scared which is horrible, running around in the woods from an alien. If you fastforward to the ending, the last 30 mins of the movie is the most interesting parts of the movie, the rest is garbage.
Men in Black: International (2019)
This movie was not funny at all and I seen this plot before on another movie.
I was looking forward to seeing some fresh faces replace the old Will and Tommy Lee characters but now I don' t think that was a good idea. This movie just fell flat uninteresting and boring. Even the plot of the movie was copied from previous men in black movies. Chris Hemsworth tried to be funny and guffy which failed on so many levels. All you get is the same punch lines that you have already seen in the Thor movies but the only difference is he is not playing Thor. Tessa Thompson who plays agent M is a forgetable character that I don't even know why she was a main character to begin with in the movie...say it with me.... Men in Black... not women who likes to wear black shiny suits. Oh and the plot was copied from previous movies so no big ending there in which the director left a huge plot hole between the aliens and mankind. Only watch this movie on DVD when you are bored with nothing else to do.
Captain Marvel (2019)
A+ for plot direction and for bring back the 90s era
To be honest I was not looking forward to watching this movie at all until I saw Captain Marvel play in the Avengers Endgame movie. I went into this movie with an open mind and to my surprise it was not at all that bad of a movie like most people were saying. If it was not for Samuel L Jackson saving this movie from being a disaster and for being in every scene, then this movie would've sucked big time because Brie Larson playing Captain Marvel was not that interesting. it was dull, boring and had an attitude in every movie shot which made it hard to connect to this character. If you can get pass the direction this film was going with the perceived feminism empowerment... yawn... that is more irritating than impowering, this movie can be worthwatching.
Happy Death Day 2 U (2019)
Entertaining but failed at trying to explain the "how"
The first movie I enjoyed very much and could not wait until they produce the sequel which was not good as the first one. What this movie tried to do was put science into the forefront which did not add anything new for the outcome of the movie. I was expecting something more but at least some of the death scenes were memorable. I thought at first they were going to have the Asian guy as the lead this time but put a quick twist on that. I still don't know why they had one of the main characters jumping out of an airplane but okay.... wherever.. I guess the screen writers got bored and wanted to see some skin.
Happy Death Day (2017)
This movie puts a twist on groundhoge day but only better
I went into this movie thinking its gonna be another white girl running for her life from a slasher/ killer just like the other million movies we have watched previous before ex. Jason in Friday the 13th or Freddy Kruger. But to my amazement I was surprised at how good the plot was and the way the director put a twist of combining Theresa "Tree" the main character in the movie to solve her own crime of who kills her in the end. The only thing you will not get out of the movie is why or how she is repeating these situations over and over throughout the movie. But who cares, its worth the watch.
The Hustle (2019)
Very bad movie no surprise here
The only problem with this movie was not the plot but having Rebel Wilson as the comic relief. I do not know how she continues to get work in movies. She is not funny nor interesting and was rather irritating while watching this movie. I got so annoyed with her trying to still the scenes, I had to take a break in between to do something else that was more interesting. Now I know how Rebel Wilson survived all the perfect pitch movies is that the director was smart enough to give her one liners that would not last long for each scene. After viewing this movie, I probably will not watch Isn't It Romantic that stars her as well.
Haunt (2019)
Worth watching will find yourself what will happen next
Even though I have not watched A Quite Place yet, I was very surprised at how good this movie really was. I not gonna say it is the best horror movie made in all my years of viewing horror movies but I can say it is the best I have seen in the horror genera for 2019. This movie has its scares, thrills and some suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Worth the watch and the sound quality is great if you have good speakers to listen to.
Ma (2019)
The trailers will trick you everytime. A complete waste of time
I was excited to see Octavia Spencer play a killer instead of same movie roles such as the help. But what I got was the same character she played in for The Help but the only difference she is a killer which failed flat on so many levels. This movie could've been good had the director pushed in a different direction but what we got was a predictable plot and a stupid ending that left me feeling like I wasted an 1 hour 30 mins of my time watching this garbage of a movie. I am very disappointed by the ending and feel like the writers were too lazy to even think how to end this movie on a high note.
Child's Play (2019)
The plot is what saved this movie and not the cheap looking Chucky doll
I gave this movie a 6 star only because the plot is totally different than the previous child's play movies. I will give the director credit on the twist of using 20th centenary technology as a useful killing tool. A key point to note, is to not connect the previous Child's play movies with this one because you will be disappointed and lets not get on how cheap this Chucky doll looks in this movie. I mean the makeup artist or doll makers could've done something better with the hair at least but remember do not connect this movie with the previous and you will enjoy this movie for what it is worth.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
I really enjoyed this movie. It tied up everything and answered all questions from pervious movies
I do not see why everyone was giving the plot of this movie a 1 or 2 star. I can say watching this movie for 3 hours, it tied up all the previous movies all in one bow and left no questions unanswered. I think some viewers wanted more death scenes but for me I was truly satisfied and entertained since watching all the marvel movies at the start of first Ironman. You will definitely try to hold back some tears which I was good at but this movie will try to make you cry. Hope you enjoy this movie as much as I did since this is the last avengers saga.
The Happytime Murders (2018)
2 stars for the puppets and not the actors in this movie
I was like, I can not wait for this movie to come out because it uses puppets being nasty towards one another just like humans. Once I started watching, the puppets were very entertaining but for Melissa McCarthy she was stiff, boring as hell, and she does the same jokes or one liner clicks that she normally does in this movie as she has done in every movie since Bridesmaids. Come up with some new material or your days as a actress is numbered by failure. This movie would've been better hiring someone else as the lead. The plot OMG was copied from another movie or any lifetime movie you may have seen the only difference is that it dealing with puppets instead of humans.
Little (2019)
I had to take a nap in between watching this boring and cleshay copied movie
I really did try to give this movie a chance seeing that Issa Rae and Marsai Martin were in it as well as Regina Hall. This movie was a huge let down and just another quick cash cow to make for Holly weird executives. I am very surprised that Regina Hall even wanted to be a part of this fail comedy movie. I mean it wasn't like she was in the movie that long anyways. This movie is not even funny not by a long shot and who ever cut and pasted the movie did a sloppy job at editing to the point you feel like you missed something in between the takes. The ending of the movie still did not make any sense as to answer the huge question was Regina Hall dreaming this whole time or was she for real turned into a small kid and doing those things in real life. That is how bad it was watching this movie. I feel like the lil girl waving the magic won in this movie or a 7 year old filmed, produced, and edited this movie so watch at your own expense. You have been warned.
Us (2019)
Jordan Peele Failed as a Director if You as the Viewer are Left With More Unanswered Questions
This movie did start off good but got confusing when it started messing around with the supernatural that is a doppelgänger. I get it, you want to make something fresh and new but for me watching this movie was a huge let down. This movie just left more questions for me that needed answering and the director failed big time if the viewer has to look up information to understand the movie better which should've been explained in the 2 hours length time of this movie. For instance why did the doppelganger just walk up the escalator to the other world way before young Adelaide was captured by her evil doppelganger and switched bodies? What is the significant point of the rabbits hopping all over the ending? The director failed to explain why Adelaide's double, Red can barely talk which I learned by researching the evil one chocked her but in the movie it was not even addressed and how did she get out of those handcuffs as a little girl? What was the point of them ( the doppelgangers) killing everyone if they were just going to hold hands at the end of movie? There is no reason for this. If Jordan Peele makes a part 2 to this movie he better step up his Director skills or hire more director who can check him because the second part will be a huge flop.
It (2017)
Worth watching even though not scary
Now compared from the first IT movie produced in 1990 I can say they tried to put a different spend on it but it does not come as close to the original. Worth watching.
