The Capture (2017)
Thinking mans Science Fiction
Recently saw this on amazon, pretty good, a lot to take in and a lot of talking about science and the spirt it world. Which makes it great in some parts and a little slow in others. It was obvious that this film was made for very little money but the acting and the presentation were good. The end is a head scratcher but in these type of thinking man films that's good. If you're looking for action and explosions this is not for you but if you like intelligent since fiction this is more what this film is.
Halloween II (1981)
Classic
What a cool film that starts off right after the end of # 1. If ever there was a cooler place to set a horror film than a hospital your guess is as good as mine. Jamie Lee Curtis is amazing as the final girl who keeps saying in her head "are you kidding me" great classic slasher of the early 80s.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
Still conflicted
After not digging the Force Awakens I was surprised that I actually liked the Last Jedi, I think. There are some parts of the film that are amazing and then there are others that make me feel let down.
Characters sometimes just do things (I'm talking to you Poe) without any real reason and sometimes in the story they do things for the best of reasons (hi Holdo). I'm not sure why Rose is in the story either I like her character but still not sure what part she plays in it. Rey and Ren - what is going on there? Each of them keeps changing motivations sometimes the same scene. But there are things I do like about this film, the race against the clock and I actually get Luke's motivation. At least he has one.
I think I try it again and see if it's a smoother ride the second time, but overall still better than the Force Awakens.
