my favorite anime, ever.
20 June 2019
It has very good music, some plot holes in the anime are annoying but that's okay because the characters make up for it <3

i'm gonna be honest, i didn't want to watch it...
15 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I mean it. i had 0 desire to watch 'Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again'. when i first saw the commercials back when it first debuted in theaters, i felt my eyes roll into the back of my head. "why are they making a sequal?" i thought.

it's 2019. a whole year later and my mom finally strapped me down to watch it. i didn't want to watch it, and yet i did. watching donna's summer romances whiz across the screen of the living room TV was a lot more enjoyable than i'd ever imagined.

admittedly, there were many, many, MANY differences between what was said in the first film and what was SHOWN in the second. it was bound to happen. it's a sequel for pete's sake.

my favorite scene of 'Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again!' is by far, Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried's duet of "My Love, My Life". it has been so long since a movie had made me sob my eyes out. the entire scene was just filled to the brim with emotion, and it was simply gorgeous. the imagery, the singing, the arrangement, it was all simply... breathtaking. (or, tear-taking in this case. i want my tears back, dammit.)

Eloise (2016)
7/10
pretty spooky and fun
28 March 2019
Most horror movies nowadays are super duper cheesy and not that great. Eloise is pretty good. Not the best, but also not horrible. If i'm honest, i REALLY enjoyed Eloise. However, the first quarter of the movie is quite slow, kind of boring. The ending is pretty satisfying. I like it. Nice job. 7/10

it's pretty good...i gueeeess?

First things first; i just want to say 'Captain Marvel' wasn't terrible.

The first two quarters of the film were pretty slowpaced and confusing. Barely kept me entertained. There were some jokes or scenes that made me let out a few chuckles, so thats good. The last two quarters of the film were very action packed, and almost seemed rushed. However, it kept me entertained.

Also loved the Stan Lee cameo. Love that guy.

The acting is very good and all of the character interactions feel and look natural. Overall a nice film. Good job. 6/10.

Stepmom (1998)

good, touching, somewhat difficult to watch in the beginning.

I may be a bit biased with this review due to my die-hard love for julia roberts. over-all a very touching and good movie. difficult to watch in the beginning due to the mother and daughter's smart-aleck attitude toward Isabel.

Fate/Zero (2011–2012)

Two words: Holy /****/
20 September 2018
I don't give a lot of anime's a mental 8 or 9/10 for no reason. This anime is definitely worth a watch, or at least a check-out. As always, I'm gonna start off with all the stuff that aren't that good:
  • some characters were made to be hated, and literally nothing else. explanation: Kayneth is one of the few characters in the series without a reason to be such a dickweed. I get it, he wants to get the holy grail and all that good stuff for his family's honor or whatever, but ... god, i feel bad for his wife.
  • some things just don't add up! this is supposed to be a prequel, and yet 90% of everything that leaves you "???" isn't explained until the less-good, and honestly...quite /bad/ F/Stay Night: UBW which would come in two years.
  • it's grossly UNDERrated. Help me out here you guys.
  • Some interactions and phrases said by the english actors are awkward and kind of out-of-place (see also, the first time Gilgamesh uses the word "cur" toward berzerker. It's a bit awkward and he pauses, right? I'm not the only one...RIGHT?)
  • seriously. some of these characters are such DICKWEEDS with no redeeming features (see also: kayneth and zouken.)
  • the second season is quickly paced and the conflict is "resolved" within the final two episodes.
  • the series somewhat rushes everyones deaths. its as if it was like "oh crap! we're running out of money and episodes! uhh (x) dies here and then like 3 episodes later before anyone can recover... (y) will die and make everryone die as well! and then (y) will die 2 episodes later, lol!"

that was fun to type, time for the redeeming pieces!
  • the animations is /gorgeous/. drop. dead. /gorgeous/.
  • both of its openings and endings are meaningful and just simply BEAUTIFUL.
  • the bgm is also quite amazing! you can catch me jamming out to "let the stars fall down" or "the battle is to the brave"
  • all of the battle scenes are simply badass. amazingly beautiful.
  • most of the characters are well-rounded and besides being, of course, animated - REALISTIC.
  • the english dub is an absolute gem. thank the lord for George Grant's voice. (no, im not biased! ok maybe a little.)

Attack on Titan (2013–2023)
6/10
just...eh.
20 September 2018
Attack On Titan (or Shingeki no Kyojin) is enjoyable, despite having quite a few issues:

Plot, plot, plot! It's paced choppy! Characters! Characters so troupe-based that it hurts. I'm looking at our edgy protag whom only speaks through his teeth. Get over yourself, Jaeger. Really...the only characters /truly/ worth any screen-time are the background characters (Sasha, Annie, Connie, etc...) Cliches. "little-girl-who's-probably-not-even-13-yet-is-able-to-easily-kill-a-man-without-breaking-down-and-freaking-out-bc-he-killed-her-parents" cliche. Another con: Bryce Papenbrook. I'm so sorry, I absolutely HATE actor-shaming but I have seen him voice so many teenagers with edgy-issues (Shirou Emiya, Kirito, Eren, etc...) that it now makes my ears bleed. Half of his lines are SCREAMING that "I will kill all the titans! I'm ten ft tall even tho im rlly like 5'7, lmao!!" The english dub is OK. that's it. If you want a good english dub, see Fate/Zero.

Here are some good things: The !! Directing !! Is !! Beautiful !! The concept is wonderfully amazing and fulfilling! I love post-apocalyptic plots! Most of the characters are tolerable, if not lovable. Comedic moments are well placed and paced. They don't pop in at random moments like in other anime's (SAO, Naruto, Fate/Stay Night...) The animation is surprisingly good! I love it and its beautiful. THE GORE IS SURPRISINGLY GORE-Y WITHOUT BEING COMPLETELY GROSS AND GROTESQUE (with that being said, I would be fine if they showed some eyeballs and internal organs, lol. Corpse Party had me wanting more.) YES ALSO THE SOUNDTRACK IS THE /BEST/ thanks for coming to my ted talk bye bye
