Doctor Who: Revolution of the Daleks (2021)
Ok it wasn't amazing but this is the first episode to not make me wonder how long until it finishes.
Ok it wasn't amazing but this is the first episode to not make me wonder how long until it finishes.
There was a couple of floors to this episode but if we painfully ignored those floors it was actually decent.
Pros
- good filming quality and CGI
- good dalek design since series 4
- A lot of Easter eggs/mentions
- Spectated from a dalek ship
- plot was fresh
- when I saw the mass production of Daleks for the first time in a long line I was like "damn they are screwed."
Cons
- I wish I saw the invasion between the two Dalek versions a little more.
- how did the Daleks get taken to the void when it was shut by the 10th doctor.
- We never saw jack say a proper goodbye he deserved.
- I think jack didn't quite feel like the jack we knew. Torchwood Jack wouldn't have had that scene with Yaz just before they enter the building that the Dalek were cloning. Plus he didn't jump to help much, he just left the doctor to do all the strategising and thinking, when they were in the TARDIS coming up with a plan, torchwood Jack would come up with some ideas. Jack is smarter than that.
- Jack didn't act the same as the Jack we know in general. Was a little too cheesy than he used to be.
- a few other flaws that I can't seem to explain.
Case 39 (2009)
👏 👏 👏 ok you got me
👏 👏 👏 ok you got me. First time I've ever been scared about a horror movie. I had made it my life's mission to find a horror movie to scare me and trust me, think of a horror movie, chances are I've seen it. I've never ever been scared about a horror movie till now congrats 👏.
Why? I as a kid once had a fly go into my ear at night and buzz until I drove crazy for ages until it finally flew out. Ever since, that has been my 1 and only fear in life, not heights, not spiders, not snakes, but an insect in my ear buzzing till I go crazy. When this scene happened with the hornets the sound effect was so good I actually got scared and nearly had a panic attack. It really felt like they were going into my ear. I literally had to close my ears. I guess you could say this was the first horror to be scary because it was more personal to me on the respect of the insect in the ear, but it still did it's job. Well done.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Decided to give it a few days to let it sink in to write a review.
There are many things I have to go through. So forgive me if I miss anything. I will try to go through the important stuff.
I'll start by going through each avenger that plays an important role so I decrease the chance of missing something important. Once again if I do I apologise.
*DOES CONTAIN SPOILERS*
Loki - I kind of wished Tom had come back for more of the movie because Loki is one of the best iconic villains in marvel movie history. He's mischievous, sarcastic and has great character development -the perfect villain.
However, seeing him in a new timeline from 'The Avengers' was very short but amazing. His sarcastic remark to Captain America after he was arrested really reminded us of his brilliant personality. I wish he got the chance to have a proper farewell but it wouldn't have fit in the dialogue very well so I really appreciate his final scenes. (Gotta love the face Loki pulled when the brief case was pushed by ant man and it slid on the floor 'by itself'.)
Captain America - There's a lot to say on 'cap'. Captain America is a true loyal avenger. He never gave up he would always think of plans if one wasn't already thought of.
Captain America fighting himself was brilliant. Fighting someone who was equal in power with the same fighting skills and weapons was not only great to see, but slightly hilarious in the sense that younger captain didn't know he was fighting himself.
Seeing captain towards the end save Thor with his own hammer was a dream came true. The satisfaction of knowing that captain America turned out to be one of the most loyal avengers of all, not to mention brave. Seeing him hold that hammer made me very proud of what captain America became. He was once a small skinny boy and turned into a brave, heroic and loyal man.
Seeing captain in the end as an old man was truly heart breaking to see his life at a near end but I was also happy knowing he finally had the life he had always wanted and let's be honest, he earned it.
Seeing captain 'give' his shield away was also heart breaking in the moment but it also made me feel much better to know the legend is moving on and will never be forgotten. Part of me wished Bucky got the shield but I was still happy with the outcome.
Hulk - now I can see some people being disappointed with how the hulk turned out. I wasn't. I thought having a hulk in control was very useful in battle seen as in 'infinity war' he was too scared to come out to fight the mad Titan, Thanos.
Though seeing him taking selfies with fans was funny in the moment, it's a little too silly for the hulk in my opinion.
Seeing hulk smash the car on top of the enemies and jumping on it angrily when they went back in time was funny because we got a final glimpse of the true hulk form and how aggressive he can be when out of control.
Thor - people were disappointed with how Thor was treated, and I do agree somewhat. But it could've been worse. I mean they did remind us of how an asguardian drinks bear and eats all the time like shown in 'Thor'. Though as a Fortnite hater, I do think that was far fetched. We can see how Thor wanted to be himself.
Speaking of Thor wanting to be himself, giving up his 'career' in being a king and giving it to an old friend 'Valkyrie'. I believe that was a good choice to give to her as she has shown the most enthusiasm whenever she is in battle, she has shown leadership previously too.
Towards the final battle of the avengers and Thanos and his army Thor really showed the true power of Thor. Though I wished he would have been in a few more battle scenes. But I guess I can't complain as every avenger needed at least one scene in battle.
Spider-Man - for a kid he was very very brave towards the end. At first before the movie released I was very disappointed in what they did to his suit. But seeing it in action I take it all back. Before the movie released all I could think about when I saw Spider-Man was how marvel had ruined his costume. After seeing the movie, I took one glance at it without negativity and never thought about it again until he opened his 4 back legs to break his fall. I didn't have anything bad to say about the costume throughout the whole movie.
Having the switch from Spider-Man dying in-front of iron man to iron man dying in front of Spider-Man was truly heartbreaking.
Spider-Man didn't have so many scenes and I wish he was here for more.
Doctor strange - Came in last minute to bring everybody back which made the final fight EPIC! Seeing the avengers turning into a huge army was amazing! Though there's not a lot to say about doctor strange other than letting tony know what he had to do to stop Thanos. Other than that there's not much more to say. :(
Black panther - I just loved T'Challa and his army. Very skill full. Black panthers fighting skills is one of my favourites just like Spider-Man he is fast and very slick when it comes to fighting running and jumping. To say we only see him fighting with his claws at a very short range. He is very brave.
He played a big part in the final war bringing his army. In the end we know his father would've been very proud of him.
antman - antman's panic after realising half the world is gone made us feel really scared for his family. I don't dislike antman but although he's a fairly new character in the movies we still feel for him when he reunited with his family. Through the movie he seemed very nervous and doubtful of the plan to save the world most of the time, but he still played a very important role. Without his idea of timetravel chances are, the avengers may not have saved the world.
I was disappointed in the fact that we didn't see him fight much towards the final battle as we saw him grow huge and crush some people.
Captain marvel - again, not in the movie much but came when the avengers needed her the most and that's what matters. I forgave her for leaving as it was true that every world lost people and needed a hero. So it was fair for her to leave. And also for plot reasons the movie would've been shortened if she was there the whole time.
Guardians of the galaxy - seeing the team back together again and still standing strong made me very happy. Though we didn't see much battling with them it felt really nice to get them back into action. seeing star-lord knocked out and kicked in the nuts all in 1 movie felt great as there were a few times he was a jerk in movies. Funny and deserved every bit that he got. I don't hate starlord one bit but it was truly satisfying to see Gamora kick him in the nuts.
As for nebula. It was so sweet of iron man to let her win the game in the beginning to let her experience the world of 'fun'. Future nebula was very loyal and have great character development, made me feel really nice inside when Tony held out his hand for her to shake for winning the game. I felt really bad for nebulas past. She did many bad things but that was because she feared Thanos, which was understandable. I completely forgive her for everything. Including sacrificing herself to save everyone. I still don't understand how nebula didn't disappear after killing the past nebula, maybe she survived? Who knows? Maybe a part of her lived? And Bruce fixes her and puts her back in time? Maybe?
Hawkeye - seeing Hawkeye loose his family in the beginning was sad. After all he saved the world many times and just wanted a normal family life. After the disappearance of his wife and children seeing him turn into Ronin and go on a killing spree really makes us see how he feels.
Trying to save Natasha a person in which he had been working with for a long time was truly sad after seeing how much they did together in other movies. Part of me wanted them to be a couple, but maybe thats just me? Having him protect the gauntlet was a little worrying because he in my opinion was the weakest avenger (doesn't mean I dislike him, he's one of my favourite avengers because of this) but it was a little worrying that he would loose the gauntlet. Thankfully he did not.
Black widow - seeing her death gave me flashbacks of her time as a hero. Maybe one of the weakest avengers but she had a huge effect on the team. Seeing her crying in the beginning shows that Natasha has feelings in which she hides all the time to make herself look stronger than she was.
Sacrificing herself to save others is what I call loyalty. It's sad that we don't know if she had any family left. My guess was that she didn't. But heating the avengers say that they were her family was very touching.
Iron man - all this time I saw him as a billionaire who doesn't care about a lot of things. Seeing him sad for Spider-Man was one of the most amazing things to see of Tony.
It was pretty obvious when he made that message on the ship at the beginning that he was going to die. It was also pretty obvious it was him though I kept denying it. Every movie he was in his arm would be hurt in some way in EVERY SINGLE MOVIE. So I expected that he would be the one to use the gauntlet.
At the end of the movie we saw a mysterious male. Who was this? This was the guy from iron man 3
Thanos - even with the gauntlet appeared to be weaker than infinity war Thanos Without the gauntlet. He spent minutes trying to take out iron man in Endgame. However, it took Thanos 30 seconds to defeat hulk in infinity war without the gauntlet. However, seeing Thanos sit and wait for the gauntlet to be given to him was a really good idea. He was so sure of himself that he won. Though he was wrong.
The fact that Thanos gave up and sat down before he turned to dust makes us remember that he is not evil, he is loyal to his opinion on how the universe should run. Accepting his defeat instead of retaliating really showed this.
Plot - As for the plot. There were many plot holes and the fact that the universe was saved by a rat is weird. However, I'm satisfied. Not perfect but nothing is.
Supergirl: The House of L (2019)
To all those giving it a 1 star screw you
People are rating this episode a 1 star saying it's the worst episode yet. I know they are lying and have probably not watched the episode. They just want it cancelled. Why can't they leave it alone. That way those that like the show can still watch it without it getting cancelled. Your taking a show away from the fans. Can't you leave it and let us enjoy a show we like? Instead of taking it away from us? Can't you just not watch the show if you don't like it? It's not that difficult. When you keep being haters just leave because your being selfish and arrogant. I understand that shows have ratings for a reason and I get if you genuinely didn't like the episode then that's ok but some people are abusing the system. Leave it if you don't like it.
Supergirl (2015)
People to busy about supercorp
Good show underrated and yeah basically that's all I wanna say
Doctor Who: Demons of the Punjab (2018)
Right
The doctor and the companions are amazing but plots suck. The only plots that were good were the ones about history. So this one and 'rosa' But even so the ones that are good don't feel like doctor who
Doctor Who: Arachnids in the UK (2018)
To the idiots
Yes it wasn't perfect but you guys are so dumb. "What happened to the spiders in the flats" omfg do you idiots listen or not? The doctor stated that the spiders home is the hotel and some spiders went out to get dinner. So yes all the spiders did get attracted to the music because they were all close by to it. Also what the f do you think happened to the spiders in the emergency room. The doctor stated they were gunna die naturally if you were listening you'd know how they died
Doctor Who: The Ghost Monument (2018)
Jodie is new and funny and smart and amazing!
Ok maybe not perfect right off the bat but nobody can be perfect so quickly. I love how it's not just the usual wondering about I love how it's a race against death.
Once again, I love the camera quality. Feels like a movie and the green screaming has defiantly improved. You can tell that the budget is high compared to before series 11.
As for The Doctors attitude I love how she is mad, funny, sassy and energetic. Though I must say some of the scenes feel a little forced. However like I said I do not expect The Doctor to be perfect strait away. I loved the costume strait away from the previous episode and it really grew on me even more this episode.
Though I would've preferred a little more action with the robotic people. I don't know if the holographic guy will be explained further in future epsiodes.
Graham was a little bit of a meh at first as I know him from the show the chase but as usual he has grown on me and appears to be the one to think realistically.
As for the other companions I have no complaints. Loved them both strait away and I hope they add some background information or a good plot from them in the near future.
Now the TARDIS. Ok I wasn't keen on the interior at first but I think I will get used to it. The golden walls seem to be a little bland and it doesn't seem like there's much room to see them around the console due to the supporting walls in the middle. But I love that it dispenses a snack and the buttons are a little different. It reminds me of 11'a interior due to the odd sand timer she has on the TARDIS. Loving the colours of the tardis interior.
The intro and outdo was brilliant. May not have the usual TARDIS in there but not every intro did. It really gives a classic Doctor Who vibe and I'm loving the colours. I'm satisfied with the intro and outro.
The music itself. I hope to hear more. It's different and interesting. It's a shame Murray Gold left but his service was brilliant while he was in the run. I hope the new one (Segun Akinola) can put up with his work.
Overall very impressed and I see something in there that not everybody else sees. I see potential. Not perfect but for starting epsiodes I'd say it's very good.
