Over Her Dead Body (2008)
the worst movie of the year
I don't really know why would some people just throw their money into stupid projects like this movie. Instead they could have just donated those money to a charity. This movie is as awful as it can get. Eva Longoria is at her worst (if she ever has a best) and in this movie she shows to all of the viewers that you can make it even if you have a complete lack of talent. She is a very disturbing "diva" in this movie. I am just guessing here but it might have been her idea that she changes hair and clothes in every scene, and it is completely out of the context of the movie. But at least she continued wearing white. It is completely wrong to change clothes and hair on her character. If there is a reason to see this movie, that it would be Paul Judd, the only one worth watching. The rest of the acting is just disturbing. But, on the other hand, Paul should pick his project better, he has talent and shouldn't waste it on movies of this kind.
Message in a Bottle (1999)
overall good movie
If I hadn't read the book long before I saw the movie, I would probably give this movie 10 in the rating. The actors are great and the overall movie is very good. But, as I mentioned, I had read the book. Let me rephrase it "I had fallen in love with the book". Nicholas spark is a great writer. I completely dislike the sugar and vanilla love story books that many authors tend to write today, books that you read and throw in the recycling box. Nicholas Sparks stands well above them all. All the words used in that book are great, and because I loved the book so much, I already had imagined my own version of that movie. To tell you the truth I saw the male character in my dreams to be Kevin Costner, because I love him. Robin was a very nice surprise. The movie is very good, I would say it is not a waste of time to watch it, but I would strongly recommend for you to read the book and create your own, very personal movie.
Lars and the Real Girl (2007)
Great human movie
This movie is so great, I'm out of words. I would strongly suggest it to all of you. I don't know where to start, the script, the direction, the acting, the casting. All great. I hadn't read any comment about this movie went I first decided to go and see it. It shows a side of the "human life" that sadly enough is going extinct. It pays tribute to "understanding" "accepting" and "love" in their purest form, in their organic pure as god intended for them to be. I loved the setting of the movie. It is the perfect one, because no one would accept or understand a story as great as that in the small minded big cities. All the best to all the staff of this movie, from the first to the very last one. There is this one thing that convinced me more on the perfection of this move, and that was the hair of Lars. It is so perfect, and it says so much about him. Loved it!
The Departed (2006)
Loved the acting
I just watched the movie, and is great. I did not think that the movie is the best of this year, meaning that another movie should have won the Oscars. Most importantly this is not the best work of Scorcese. I guess the Accademy just had to give him an Oscar, but this is not the best work of him. I don't want to be commenting the movie itself. I would like to let you know my opinion about the actors and their work. I am always wonderfully and beautifully surprised by Di Caprio. He is The best young actor we have today. If I was to make a comparison between his work and the Fabulous Jack Nicholson, I would say that they shone the same way. Great Great cast, Great Great work from all the actors. Would I suggest you to go and watch this movie? Definitevly "YES". Go there watch the movie, spend some time outside the house. But you will need to keep a light stomach if you have e low tolerance for violence.
The Da Vinci Code (2006)
nice movie
I had read the book long before I saw the movie. Usually what happens with me is that I don't like the movies if I have read the book before. I expected to be this way with this movie too. I was even hesitant to see the movie, as I had read many not so good reviews. But when I saw it I liked it. The actors are great. the interpretation is superb and the director has done a very good job. Congratulation to the all the members of the staff. But when it comes to suggesting to others to see the movie or the to read the book, I am always rooting for the book. I would suggest to buy the book, to read it, to read the reviews and to really understand the point of the whole story. I once heard Dan Brown say that he was worried that people liked the book not because of the good writing but because of what it writes about. I am sorry I cannot rephrase exactly what he said, but it was something like this. And I think the reviews about the movie are generated mostly for the same reason. I cannot see it anymore, but in the beginning I was also worried about the content. Now I get it. The more I read the book the more I get what Dan wants me to see. But not everybody likes the books, or even is able to fit the time to read this book into their schedules. If this is your case, then I would recommend you go and see the movie. All the actors are at their best. I am sorry that because of what it tries to tell about, it wont receive the real appreciation for the art work, but what can I say. At the end, it is a good spent time that will raise questions for you, and, why not, even make you start your own little internet quest.
Cars (2006)
excellent
I loved this movie. All of it, the screenplay, the director, the cast and everything. I never imagined Owen Willson to be good in being a voice in a movie like this, but to my opinion he shines. My kids were all ears all the time the movie was running, and I was pleased also, as it is a very good movie, very funny and very educational. It bears values I love my kids to learn. Finally Disney has come through again. I don't know whether this movie will be on the list for the upcoming Oscars, but it has my vote. This movie is a winner. I would recommend it you go and watch it, and have a wonderful time with your kids. It will be a time well spent for grown ups and for kids too. I loved it.
American Dreamz (2006)
The worst movie of 2006
This is the worst movie of 2006. Even the actors seem to not be taking It with the needed dedication. The only thing worth seeing in this movie is Dennis Quaid as George W. Bush. Maybe the writers or the director wouldn't admit it, but it is G. W. Bush. The rest is just a big awful thing. Grant seems as if he had nothing to do at that time and got to doing this movie. I liked the lover boy, but the rest is just a no. Why do people spend money on making these kind of movies? The screenplay it says nothing, it means nothing, the acting is at the same level. It's not worth seeing. Money wasted when i payed to see it. I wouldn't suggest you to go and see it.
Janam (1985)
I Love it
I have seen this movie a long time ago. I loved it. I loved the drama. I loved the music. I loved the acting. It is really a story that takes place in India, but for many reasons it is an everyday story in our lives too. I have seen people going thru the same problems and facing the same challenges. I have cried the whole time the movie went on. I would have, perhaps, reacted different in many situations. But that is just me. I have known people to react and face the same life, some by choice, some forced by religion, or family. My whole family loved this movie. We didn't have any kids in the audience at the time, but if it was possible, I would sit with my daughter and see it together and discuss about it. I haven't seen it in awhile though. If I had a chance to buy it on DVD or cassette I would not hesitate to do so. I loved the movie.
