Epic Movie (2007)
This movie makes 'Borat' seem like an Acedamy Award winner
To win the award of "worst movie of the decade", this definitely takes the cake. As each second went by, I regretted with all my being, paying money for this movie. The only good part about going to see it is for experience, and now I could tell everyone what a horrible waste of time and film this movie was. By far one of the worst movies I Have ever had the displeasure of watching.
When I went to see this movie, I thought the parody would have at least some comic humor in it, instead it looks as though i twas made for 12 year old, adolescent boys, that are just going through puberty.
To make a long review short, people please if you have any sense you will go see something normal, or rent a movie. Or you know what? Go out side, fly a kite. Thid Movie is a waste of life.
Heroes (2006)
Amazing.....
I would highly recommend this show!! it is well thought out and well put together. The web that is made through all the characters is amazing!! They are all connected somehow, no matter how different they are, it is up to them to save the world, and that is where the title comes in "heroes".
Each power is very unique and interesting and after every episode your left wanting more and wanting to see what happens next!! All the acting is fantastic and the plot and dialogue is also awesome. All my friends and I have been anticipating this film since the first trailer came out and I gotta say, we were not left disappointed.
Highly highly recommend this show!
The Departed (2006)
Another guy flick
I loved the story line and how close to getting caught the two 'rats' in the police and the mafia were. Everything was fast paced and complex. The thing that bothered me most is the mindless killings!! Honestly every main character was shot!! WTf?? And how many times was the f word used in there?? A lot. This movie over all is great, take away the mindless shooting and swearing and the movie is almost fantastic.
Leonardo DiCaprio did an excellent job portraying an inside cop with issues and pressure not to get caught. This is one of his better acting films. But of course he got shot, it was like watching Jack Dawson float to the bottom of the ocean again. Heartbreaking. But since everyone else dies, you barely notice he's gone.
Overall: exceptional, great story line, to much blood, swearing, too much violence.
Smallville (2001)
Amazing!!
This is by far my most favorite show. With each season it gets better and better, and more into the story of superman, his origin, and his life as a teen with special powers that he uses to save the world. And even without the tights and cape this show is part of a legend!! I have been hooked since season two and know each episode by heart. No, I don't have an obsession just a strong passion for good film making.
Every time a season ends there is a huge cliff hanger and people have to wait months to see what happens next, but it is worth the wait and the episodes always live up to anyone's expectations!! The chemistry between the actors is amazing, the scripts and story lines are fascinating just over all an amazing show!! Highly recommended!!
Devushka s kharakterom (1939)
Cute Movie!!
A classically cute, black and white comedy! A strong willed girl trying to make a difference at her fox farm goes to town to file a complain. With witty remarks loaded and her energy ahead of her this is a movie you want to see to the end.
She meets a man along the way. Wickedly exciting story set in the soviet union, during the late 30's.
With misunderstandings, twist and turns and a sprinkle of fate, this movie is a wonderful family or romantic film. Highly recommended for Classical Film lovers.
The language is in Russian, and I have no idea if they have any dubbed in English.
Charlotte Gray (2001)
I love it!!
Beautiful story about war, betrayal, and love. I bought this DVD without ever hearing about it or seeing it before: it was an impulse purchase. I barely read the summary on the back and new I had to buy it.
I watched it once, and already new it is on the top of my list. Cate Blanchette, again did an excellent job portraying a woman who joined the fight against the Nazis. She went through love, loss, hope, despair, love again and more loss. Blanchette is a fine actress and I am a big fan of her work. I look forward to seeing more masterpieces of hers and hope to be blown away by her performance again. An incredible picture. Beautiful. Colorful. A hook from the beginning.
The Aviator (2004)
Excellent!
I have seen this film but once and can not speak anymore highly of it then I do now. Leonardo DiCaprio portrays a brilliant film director and aviator who also has a strong and bizarre case of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, which was not discovered yet. A wonderfully stubborn and incredibly intelligent character knows what he wants and how to get it and wont sleep until the job is done right. Though he does have a moment of insanity he bounces back and shows his enemies what he's made of.
Cate Blanchette also did an excellent portrayal of a '30's actress: Katherine Hepburn. One might never have guessed that Cate Blanchette is an English actress who is not at all similar to that of Katherine Hepburn, but she did an excellent job. I would recommend this movie a million times over and fail to point out the few flaws the movie did have because one might not even see them behind the brilliance of the story and the beauty of the picture.
In the first few minutes of the movie I was hooked and was delighted that I have purchased the DVD so that I could watch it when I please. I I highly recommend it.
Napoleon Dynamite (2004)
Wh-what?
For a whole year I saw novelty Napoleon Dynamite merchandise like, notebook paper with "ligers" on them, talking pens that said "gosh!' and "sweet!", and T-shirts that read "vote for Pedro" on them. Every time I mention that I never saw the movie, people gasp and tell me I'm a weirdo. So finally, my family rented it because I begged them to see this movie that was "the #1 movie and in America!" and the movie that was named "funniest movie of the year" and all I wanted was to join in a conversation when ever my classmates talked and laughed about it.
After my friends, my family and I watched it we were all silent, not because we were blown away or stunned into silence, no, the question that was on everyone's mind was..." wh-what?" What just happened there? What was the purpose of this movie? because I'll tell ya right now, it was NOT to entertain!!! In fact I have no idea what it was for, perhaps a promotion for wigs, or an advertisement for Thrift Store, or an inspiration to film makers that even if your movie is um...pointless and has a bad story line it could still make the big screen, have novelty merchandise made, and have the lead actor become a star.
To make a long story short my reaction is: "HUH??"
