Mediocre and little entertaining...
16 March 2006
I thought this film would be one of the best films this year, with Bruce Willis (jack) and mos def (Eddie) as the main characters, it was already promising.

Even though the plot and the script is fairly good, a lot of other factors makes this film a mediocre one. For example the annoying camera angles, the hand-held camera-movement ruined the film-feeling for me, I often felt like I was watching the "behind the scenes/how the film was made" instead of getting the feeling of being IN the film. I can also add that the nasal voice Eddie has (mos def) really gets on your nerves throughout the film.

At the end of the day, it's a film with good acting-performances, but it doesn't really engage you. If you are a big fan of Bruce Willis its worth watching though. Other than that, not highly recommended.

Uno, great movie!

OK, this movie has received a lot of harsh comments, even though it is one of the best Norwegian films ever made.

Aksel Hennie has written the screenplay himself, he started several years before his dream of the film became realized. The movie is based on a good story, set in Downtown-Oslo. The characters are involved in the shady side of the society, and this gives the film a good plot.

As a first in Norwegian film history, a guy with Downs-syndrome plays Aksels brother, who has downs-syndrome. According to Aksel, this gave the character more credibility, and the guy does a really good job.

The screenplay, acting and music in this film is top notch, a film worth seeing!
