Invincible (2021)
Overly manly man meets Superman
I really enjoyed the first season and can't wait for the second. Excellent and memorable characters and their VA, it is brutal and brutally entertaining. Interesting take on the superhero genre, I finished the season in one day. Only thing that bothered me slightly is forced inclusion. Great father - son dynamics.
All in all, a must watch!
Arcane: League of Legends (2021)
Proleteriat revolution LOL style
I will keep it short and spoiler free. You will see:
-Proleteriat revolution and social critique
-Awesome fight sequences
-Wonderous aesthetics and scenery
-PTSD
-LOL meets Dishonored meets Bioshock Infinite
-Investing standalone storyline.
The Mandalorian (2019)
Back to what Star Wars should be
Mando, baby Yoda and Bill Burr.
What's there not to like?
Love, Death & Robots (2019)
Let me tell you Yen, magic is back
I found out about the series while casually strolling on the 9GAG. I can't thank enough the poster that brought the show to my attention.
It is pure magic...
When I saw David Fincher mentioned I knew it will be a work of art.
It consists of 18 episodes of different stories and art styles, all of them beautiful and intriguing. They will absorb you. They will make you laugh, question things, leave you mesmerized and sad, shocked and excited. Wanting for more the most. And that is exactly why art exists. Art style ranges from steampunk to Mass Effect like Sci-Fi, photo realistic CGI, to Animatrix and Pixar like. It is as if Tim Miller and David Fincher made a best of compilation from animated world.
gen:LOCK (2018)
Anime we were waiting for
I'm just 2 episodes in the serie, and i felt compelled to write a review. Gen: Lock filled a void which was present in animated sci-fi genre. It has emotional depth, intelligent writing, excellent humor (most notably in Dr. Weller and Miguel Garza as comic relief), and likable characters that are wonderfully casted. It feels like a lovechild of Robotech, Ghost In The Shell and XCOM, so what's there not to like?
