Gone in 60 Seconds (1974)
The Greatest Car Movie Ever Made
The acting is terrible. The dialogue is horrible. But when the car chase starts at 55 minutes, this becomes one of my favorite movies. The driving is top notch. The stunts are completely believable. Don't bother with the 2000 remake. It's a hatchet job compared to this classic. I have seen this movie at least ten times, and I will undoubtedly watch it another dozen times in my lifetime.
Gloria (1980)
I waited 3 years to see this?
I honestly don't know why this movie got so much acclaim. Gena Rowland is a great actress, but not in this movie. And she gets no help from anyone else in the cast. The dialogue is terrible. "Let's go this way". "No, this way". "No, this way". "No, this way". (This is an actual scene in the movie). The concept is a good one, but this movie doesn't develop it in any significant way. And then, all of a sudden, the movie is over and everyone is fine?
The only redeeming thing I found in this movie were the gritty scenes of New York. It gave the viewer a good feel for New York City in the late 70's. If not for that, I would have given it 1 star.
The Good Guys (2010)
The best buddy cop comedy show I've ever seen
I have watched this entire series 4 times, and I'm looking for a place to watch it a fifth time. How this show only made it one season is beyond me. It is hilarious, start to finish. Bradley Whitford is one of my favorite actors, but every time I see him, I can only think of Dan Stark.
Led Zeppelin: Celebration Day (2012)
They never sounded better
This is one of my favorite concert videos that I have ever seen. The performance of Kashmir gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. Jason Bonham, while not as skilled as his father, certainly holds his own with three legends. If you aren't a Zep fan, this concert just might make you one.
The Song Remains the Same (1976)
If you have just a passing interest in their music, don't bother.
This is a movie showcasing some of the most talented musicians ever, in one of the greatest bands ever, at the height of their excellence.
The videos and stories that go along with the music are disjointed and nonsensical, but the music is mind blowing. If you are a diehard Zep fan, you will love it. If you aren't, you probably won't enjoy it.
The Endgame (2022)
Great hair, great clothes, not much else
There are huge plot holes in this show and it asks you to suspend common sense in many cases. That being said, I knew I wasn't watching high art and I enjoyed every moment of it.
Traitor (2008)
Decent
A pretty taut thriller with quality acting. But the plot has holes big enough to drive a bus through. If you can ignore that, it's a fairly enjoyable movie.
