Good Morning-Call: Guddo môningu kôru (2016)
I was hooked
I've watched this show twice so far and absolutely love it. It doesn't hurt that Shiraishi Shunya is absolutely gorgeous, but it's a cute story with lovable characters, and I highly recommend it if you're a sucker for Japanese love stories like me.
The Toys That Made Us (2017)
We love this show and want more!
Not only is it very nostalgic, but we learn something in every episode. Big fan.
Godzilla (1998)
Should never have been allowed to be called "Godzilla"
If it were just another monster movie, I would rate it higher as a decent film. The only issue with it is, if you'll forgive the pun, a monster of a problem: it's simply not Godzilla.
Mary and Max. (2009)
One of my favorite films
"Mary and Max" was recommended to me when I still had Netflix, and I fell in love. I love the story, the animation, the music, and the characters. Highly recommend!
Coffee And Vanilla (2019)
Sizzling yet sweet
I loved this show. It was sexy and romantic, the characters are captivating, and the story kept me needing more as each episode ended. My only complaint is that it's one of Japan's short 10-episode shows, but it was a very enjoyable 3 1/2 hour binge.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)
Made by fans for fans
Critics don't know what the hell they're talking about. This sequel is far superior to the 2014 film with an exciting variety of monsters, phenomenal fx and storytelling, hardcore action, and plenty of screen time for our beloved kaiju, Gojira.
Invader ZIM: Enter the Florpus (2019)
If it ain't broke...
The art style from the show has been greatly missed since the comics came out, and even more in this movie. If they do bring Zim back for another series, I hope they revert back to the original style.
Aside from the art, I enjoyed the movie and found it as entertaining as the show. I especially love the voice cast reprising their roles, and the humor of the show being represented in the film. Jhonen Vasquez is a brilliant writer with a hilarious view of his fellow man (one that I can't disagree with). I'm also immensely grateful that unlike the creators of "Rocko's Modern Life," they stuck to their story and didn't change any characters.
Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling (2019)
A grave disappointment
I was so looking forward to this movie ever since it was first announced, but after having seen it, I wish it had never been made. Apparently not even our 90's cartoons are safe from SJW's. There was nothing of the show I loved in this movie. "Rocko's Modern Life" was a fun show. It was silly, a little bit gross, and it sprinkled in some adult innuendo, but nothing tasteless or over-the-top. I was anticipating more of the humor that made the show so enjoyable, but what we got was more of what there's already too much of these days: political agenda. Cell phones, drones, and other technological advances, fine, but changing an established and popular character into a transgender, not fine. Certainly not because there's anything wrong with being transgender, but because it does nothing whatsoever for the story. Introduce a new character who is part of the LGBTQ community if you want to demonstrate acceptance; don't change the characters we know and love.
Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989)
Unwatchable
Terrible acting. Ridiculous plot. Stupid scenes. Why did they even make this?
