Beautiful Disaster (2023)
Better than I expected!
I actually enjoyed this movie quite a bit! However; I never ready the books and I went into it not knowing anything about the movie. The acting has its cringe moments but I must admit I loved the 2 main characters. There was a lot of comedy from the two leads which I didn't expect. Some of the side characters were awkward and unnecessary (Parker). I guess I can see how he was useful in making Travis jealous, but I was disappointed with where they took his character as the movie played out. I could be biased because I loved Dylan Sprouse so much.
This is my first time seeing the female lead and I loved her character! Her humor mixed perfectly with Dylan sprouse's characters humor. I personally loved it! At first I was worried they were going to make him the cheesy bad boy and I would cringe the entire movie. But they gave him just the right amount of steaminess with the perfect blend of comedic relief.
Ultimately this movie made me laugh a lot, it made me sad at times, it had me stressing during the suspenseful scenes. I'd say it was an all around fun RomCom type movie. I look forward to watching the sequel.
Paris in Love (2021)
I wanted to love this
I had high hopes for this show and for Paris. Proud of how far she's come since her documentary and finally finding love.
However, this show just isn't it. Very cringe and hard to watch. Like others have said, it feels forced and like there's zero chemistry between her husband and her. Especially episode 5 when she throws a tantrum at his brother's wedding and they make a whole scene. I got secondhand embarrassment just from watching that entire scene unfold.
Very disappointing and I wish I never tuned in. Can't stand her mom or sister either. Nobody seems to respect her or her decisions. Even when it comes to her own damn house. Her brother is the only family member I like, he's the only one that seems genuine and kind. The rest is just a mess. Just no.
Reality (2023)
Annoying
Takes a long time to get to the point. The FBI agents really bothered me in this movie. They come across as major D-bags and make it hard to take this film seriously. I think Sweeney gave an excellent performance though! She felt very authentic and is the only reason this movie was watchable. The rest of the cast makes you want to punch them in the face.
The constant back and forth with them trying to joke with her and be her friend, then going back to interrogating her was annoying. If the goal of this movie was to make you dislike FBI agents, it succeeded.
Also didn't care for the constant cuts to block out certain information. It was annoying. If you don't want certain information out then don't even bother making a film! Just annoying.
365 Days: This Day (2022)
I'm just confused
This movie doesn't even explain what happened at the end of the first movie..... it just starts up like nothing happened and I'm extremely confused. They made it look like Laura died with her friend at the end of the first movie, but then the second movie opens up with her and Massimo getting married like nothing happened. That's my first issue with this movie.
The other problem I have is with the lack of storyline. It's sex scene after sex scene with occasional dialogue. It does have a pretty good soundtrack! So at least there's that.
If you're only looking for the sex scenes, then you will love this movie! But if you were hoping for more of a storyline you will be disappointed.
Tell Me Lies (2022)
Scary how realistic this show feels
This show will certainly not be for everyone. It had me hooked after the first episode and I watched all 6 episodes available in 1 day. I have dated a "Stephen" and went to college with every character in this show, so it really resonated with me. Then again I am a 29 year old female and the type of demographic this show is geared towards, anyone over the age of 35 probably wouldn't be interested in the college drama. It's very raw and real. The acting is far superior than I expected. You can really feel the emotions the characters go through like losing your VCard to the wrong guy, or losing your college roommate in a drunk driving accident. They don't sugarcoat anything which makes it all the more realistic. I'll be honest, I thought this show would be a major flop, but I'm really happy I gave it a chance. I can see how it might be slow for some if you wait each week for a new episode, but if you watch every episode at once like I did, it's very entertaining. If you are a teen or in your 20's, give it a chance. You'll probably get hooked like myself.
Not Okay (2022)
Still trying to figure out why Zoey agreed to this
This movie encapsulates everything that is wrong with our society today. Obsessed with social media and likes, throwing their political agendas in our faces. Very depressing and the ending leaves you feeling like "wtf did I just watch?!" I was hoping the ending would pull it all together, but instead it felt unfinished. If you like cringy and uncomfortable movies, then you will love this one! It is far from a happy, feel good movie. I don't know why Zoey would ever agree to make this movie. I wish I had skipped it.
Purple Hearts (2022)
Could've been better
I really wanted to like this one, but unfortunately it fell flat for me. Very predictable. The female lead made the movie hard to watch though, her character is very unlikable to the point I almost didn't make it through the entire movie. Typical liberal millennial feminist that gets aggressive and offended by everything. Ungrateful to the man that is literally committing fraud to help her. I would have preferred they took a different approach with the characters, instead of making the female a jaded hateful feminist. There's no love between the 2, they just fight and hate each other. The male lead is great and carried the entire movie. I hope he gets casted in more roles after this. Then they kill off the most likeable character in the movie, naturally. It's a one and done for me. You won't miss much by skipping it. 5 stars because the male lead was great.
Witches of East End (2013)
Better than I expected!
I honestly wasn't sure how Id feel about this show since I wasn't too familiar with the cast, but I really enjoyed it! WAY better than charmed, and gives a similar feel to the vampire diaries. It's a shame they canceled it after only 2 seasons because I think this show could have been a real hit!
The Bold Type (2017)
Too political for me
This show would be sooooo much better if they left out all the political garbage they shove down your throat. I could not stand Kat's character at all, she's annoying and problematic. The show would have been much better if she wasn't a main character. It's a shame because I loved every other character, but I couldn't get past them pushing their political beliefs on us the viewers. Very disappointing.
The Voyeurs (2021)
Interesting movie
Better than I expected! Crazy twist at the end that I didn't see coming at all. Slow starting movie, but the last 20 minutes are crazy! Great ending with a good lesson. Sydney Sweeney did a great job with her role, I didn't know any of the other actors, but I thought they did a decent job over all. There is lots of nudity and sex scenes which might bother some, but I'd say it's worth a watch! I was pleasantly surprised, but I went into it not knowing anything about the plot. Would have been better if more of the movie had that thriller vibe, instead of only parts of it.
He's All That (2021)
Can't stop cringing
I've officially hit that age where they remake classics I grew up with, and I see why my parents always hated them. I loved "she's all that" when it came out, so I figured I'd give this sad attempt of a remake a chance. It had potential, I love that they brought back some of the original cast for this one. That was cool to see, but I wish they picked an actual professional actor for the lead girl instead of some TikToker. Addison Ray cannot act to save her life. She's cute to look at, that's it. The acting is painful. I don't use TikTok, so clearly I'm not the demographic they were going for when making this one. If you're over the age of 23 I'd say skip this one. It's meant for a younger teenage crowd.
Riverdale: Chapter Ninety-One: The Return of the Pussycats (2021)
Whyyyyy another musical episode?!?
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I cannot stand the cheesy musical episodes. I fast forward through the singing. This felt like a complete waste of an episode. If you liked Josies character from the early seasons then you will enjoy this episode. But for me, it was a waste.
How to Be Single (2016)
Pretty good for the most part
Little annoyed with Rebel Wilson's character. She plays the same annoying character and her lines are so unnecessary. The film would have been better without her chiming in with how much she parties and sleeps around. Old overused jokes. Trying way too hard to be funny. Over it.
The rest of the movie felt very honest, gives you an idea about what it's like being single these days. I also thought the cast was perfect for the roles (aside from rebel wilson). I enjoyed the film. Didn't have the highest hopes for it, and was actually surprised at the heartfelt moments. Worth a watch!
Awkward.: Happy Campers. Happier Trails (2016)
What a letdown
The second half of the episode felt extremely rushed, with a subpar ending that just left you feeling unsatisfied. After everything Jenna and Matty went through over the last 5 years I had hoped for a better ending. Matty's speech was beautiful and heartfelt, easily the best part of the episode. But it bothers me we don't really get to see how it turns out, they just end it without resolving everything. I'm bothered.
Younger: Make No Mustique (2021)
SERIOUSLY?!?
This final season has been the biggest disappointment! I'm so over the Liza and Charles drama. HOW MANY TIMES do we have to go through this? They suck together and have already wasted so much time going back and forth like a ping pong ball. I'm over it! Josh was SO much better, but Liza is an idiot and didn't deserve him. Such a waste of what could have been a great end to the series. Very annoyed.
Songbird (2020)
Very poor taste
Not only was this movie very boring, but very poor taste making a movie like this trying to capitalize on the situation we are currently dealing with. This movie is trash. Don't waste your time watching it. The acting was decent and it had a good cast (which surprised me that any of these actors would want to be associated with this film). That's the only reason I'm giving it 3 stars.
From Justin to Kelly (2003)
I should have read the reviews lol
One of THE worst movies I've ever seen. I had high hopes because I love Kelly Clarkson, but it's an awful musical with cringe worthy acting. Awkward singing and dancing scenes. I kept watching hoping it would get better. It didn't. It actually got worse. Save yourself the watch and skip this one. Definitely hate myself for watching it.
Ocean's Twelve (2004)
11 was so much better
Perhaps my expectations were too high since I loved oceans 11 so much, but this movie was a bit of a letdown. Rather boring in comparison. I'm glad they kept the original cast, but the storyline could have been a lot better. Catherine zeta jones character was just annoying. Couldn't tell who's side she was on and she felt irrelevant. Disappointed.
To All the Boys: Always and Forever (2021)
The best of the 3 movies!
The first movie was my favorite, but this one was better! Very cute movie with a touching ending. The perfect closure for the story. I liked how all the characters developed, the story felt very natural and the emotions felt very real. I highly recommend giving it a watch if you enjoyed the first movie!
Alone (2020)
This film had so much potential!
Unfortunately it fell flat for me. It had so much potential to be a great film! They wasted a lot of time with the slow start and unfortunately the ending is rushed in the last 10 minutes and they just leave you on a cliffhanger. Very disappointed with that ending. Is there going to be a sequel?! I don't understand! It was just about to get good and then the credits roll. There has to be a sequel to explain what happens to the characters. Too many unanswered questions.
Freaky (2020)
Surprisingly hilarious movie
Didn't know what to expect from this movie, but I actually loved it! There was a lot more comedic relief than I was expecting. Lots of gore, epic kills, great suspense and action, and the actors nailed their performances perfectly! Vince Vaughn acting like a teenage girl gave me major Rob Schneider in the hot chick vibes. Hilarious movie! Highly recommend.
Promising Young Woman (2020)
Very well done!
The last 15 minutes had my jaw drop. This movie was very well done! Felt very realistic and unfortunately most women will be able to relate to it. Some parts will make your blood boil, and some parts will make you laugh. It's not at all like what I expected it would be. The ending was bittersweet, I wish it would have ended differently. But I think the movie got its point across loud and clear. I'd watch it again. The people giving it negative reviews are probably just like the men being depicted in the movie and they can't handle the truth.
Abducted: Fugitive for Love (2007)
Bad acting, decent plot
The acting is laughable. But the main character is very easy on the eyes. He was the best part of the movie and you can't help but root for him to succeed throughout the movie. Just don't have high expectations or you'll be disappointed. Acting is almost soap opera bad.
The Kissing Booth 2 (2020)
Better than the first
Very pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this movie more than the original! Usually that's not the case. But the acting felt more authentic and less cheesy in this one. Loved it! Very fun summer flick
Roped (2020)
HORRIBLE Acting
The only like able character is the main cowboy. The acting throughout the entire thing was painful to watch. I had high hopes and thought this movie was going to be super cute, but I was very wrong. I couldn't stop cringing. The parts that were supposed to be cute were awkward, the parts that were supposed to be serious were laughable at how cheesy the actors were. That's 90 minutes I'll never get back. Save your time and skip this one. It's a hard pass!
