Geu Gyeowool, Barami Boonda (2013)
Romantic Kdrama
This is definitely up there with the very best (even up to the date of this review) for passion, romance, acting and cinematography. For those who have loved CLOY and the recent Queen of Tears - look at this one. If this had been a recent release I expect it would have scored higher on IMDb. I loved Song Hye-kyo in DOTS, but here both she and Zo(Cho/Jo) In-sung are equally at their absolute best.
They are both stunningly good-looking lead stars - who also give the viewer great kisses and much chemistry. Very emotive, with some action and excellent supporting actors too. This is definitely one for those of us who love a traditional/typical Kdrama romance of top quality. Enjoy.

Very Enjoyable
Having seen a number of (the realistic and believable) highly rated romantic Kdramas, I was pleased to also enjoy this one. I Iiked that there was a range of ages with respect to the romantic relationships, and there was emotional satisfaction for the viewer. Most of the cast were very good, it was well filmed and with appropriate music. I looked forward to each episode, and I don't think I skipped any scenes at all. Not up there with my favourites - but would recommend. There is a strong school based focus, and it is soft and romantic - so won't appeal to everyone. Similar to "I am Not a Robot" and "Clean with Passion for Now", but slightly better than both.

Very entertaining
Well paced and often delightful Kdrama. Hugely watchable lead stars who all give excellent performances. Sometimes similar Korean dramas can have a lull around episode 12ish but this was not the case here. Yes some of the themes are very similar to those shown in typical Kdramas but the beauty and charisma of the actors as well as the romance/chemistry and emotional aspects draw you into this one. Could have had a better soundtrack maybe, but this wasn't enough to reduce my rating. If you like this, you may also enjoy Clean with Passion for Now - although I personally slightly preferred this one.

Surprisingly great
A very well-acted Kdrama with an interesting and emotionally satisfying story. Has the usual charming features of these dramas, but with a deeper focus on the themes of marriage and to some extent, destiny. It has similarities to "Back to the Future" and "It's a Wonderful Life", but in the context of a more modern day Korean drama. I thought all the main stars were excellent, and I would happily see it again. As is often the case, it could have fitted into 12 episodes (and didn't need the 16). However, some of the storyline is complex - and it is not very predictable, so I wouldn't suggest skipping many scenes at once. Would recommend.
Pachinko (2022)
Glorious
This is one of the most beautiful productions I have ever seen, in any language. I loved the costumes, acting, cinematography, script and plot. At times it is spellbinding. It is complex and has much depth, and isn't for the very young. Although I love Kdramas, as has previously been said - this drama series is very different. If you loved the film Geisha (the film of "Memoirs of a Geisha") you can expect to be entranced by Pachinko. I was a little confused by episode 7, however I just quickly moved to episode 8 and was transfixed once again. Enjoy.

Funny & Romantic
I have seen a number of high rated romantic Kdramas, and loved this one. It is fast moving, and has 12 rather than the usual 16 episodes. Couldn't fault the main stars and two supporting characters. I liked that despite maintaining the typical themes and style of romantic Kdramas (which really are great over and over!) it was also on the realistic side. There were no fears of kidnap and no shooting etc. Individual story lines didn't drag on and it flowed very well. I also liked how the two main romantic relationships were hiked up a level (i.e more typical of modern couples today) which is rarely seen in Kdramas (although the good ones do get it right - and A Business Proposal is no exception here). I didn't really find the grandfather that annoying(as wealthy seniors in these dramas often can be), and he was a good character I thought. Very entertaining and a pleasure to watch throughout.
CODA (2021)
Delightful
Beautifully acted by the lovely main star and a number of the supporting cast. Great vocals. Excellent film. Would thoroughly recommend, especially if you like emotive movies with depth of feeling. Also strong themes of family, loyalty, coming of age, and some romance too. Super.

Excellent
Really great. Something different when it comes to Kdramas. Loved the acting, the subtle element of suspense, the real life themes including poverty/class and the seriousness(absence of the often seen comedy in Kdramas). This is a love story. I was wary of the lack of romance in the usual sense but liked it no less for it. Classy, well filmed and written. Not one for watching over and over, but still 10/10 for me.
Bridgerton (2020)
Great entertainment
I don't think Bridgerton is supposed to be taken seriously. It is however beautifully entertaining, especially for the gorgeous costumes, dancing, music, lovely lead stars and the romance. There is so much to enjoy that it fully makes up for any slight flaws/excess. Super.
Normal People (2020)
Great
Sensitive portrayal of young love which progresses as the characters individually mature and develop into early adulthood. Beautiful lead stars, brilliant acting and empathically filmed. Loved it.
