Typical dry Aussie humor..
27 February 2015
I wouldn't expect a lot Non Aussies to get the gist of the humor in this movie. A lot of the "funny's" are very dry and crass. I first saw this movie on a hired video in the early 90's and ended up buying an ex rental. It has some well known Australian names such as Johnny Farnham plays a cop, Peter Russel Clark plays a henchman( unlike the TV chef he was) along side Derryn Hinch (TV presenter and radio host), Andrew Denton (TV presenter) plays a brainiac Adult scout that builds a mechanical race horse (The local scouts also run a moonshine operation), Ian "MOLLY" Meldrum plays the local vicar, Angry Anderson (of Rose Tattoo) plays the senators aid that seems to believe the "commys" are trying to kill the senator, along with others like Frank Thring who needs his Valium to cope with his imbecile presenters that are more worried about their makeup than what they are commentating on and Donnie Sutherland who is happy to sit behind a horse. If you Liked the movie "The Castle" or Aussie sitcoms like "Kingswood country" then you will like this movie. (Unfortunately my copy got stolen, I'm still searching to buy another.)
