Beyond race

The actor who can be cast in pretty much any role regardless of his ethnicity.

To me she is the female Denzel Washington - not in acting abilities - but in the ability to be cast in many roles where her skin color was not a requirement (maybe a plus!).

She hardly seems to be playing a cliche'd Chinese character anymore.

Sure.

In terms of trans-race actors, probably the heir of Denzel Washington. Ever since ID4, he has been seen doing roles which could've been written for anyone.

He's a chameleon.

For the major part of his career he seems to have the ability to fit in from day 1 (shot 1).

Definitely had a lot more potential as an actress than what she has achieved till now. Can't say the same for her daughter ].

She transcends the boundaries of race in many ways as a musician. But she features in this list because how she replaced Heather Graham in Austin Powers without missing a beat.

I had no idea he was such a terrific actor till I saw him in Revolver. While he has played a black character meant to be black on other occasions, if you see him in Revolver its obvious that he can be cast as a multitude of characters not based on ethnicity.

In movies such as Way of the gun, he was cast perfectly because of the balanced, professional look and not because they wanted to cast "a bro".

Next generation's greatest actor ?

Belongs here. But, for the record, I didn't like her Oscar speech.

In most roles she has played, the skin color has only added color to the character. And she has what it takes to grow from a hottie to a fine actress.

Remember her from Friends?.

Probably not a great actor, but I think he has hardly ever cast in any role because of his Samoan/African/Canadian ancestry.

His ethnicity is hardly in play when he is considered for a role, much like Dwayne.

Actually he seem to be playing a race based role more often than not.. but given his versatility he belongs here.
