Heres movies that had a great story, great director, and great cast, but in the end fell short of being great and settle for being just good.

1. Babel (I) (2006)

R | 143 min | Drama

69 Metascore

Tragedy strikes a married couple on vacation in the Moroccan desert, which jump starts an interlocking story involving four different families.

Director: Alejandro G. Iñárritu | Stars: Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Gael García Bernal, Mohamed Akhzam

Votes: 317,190 | Gross: $34.30M

Alot of people will disagree with me on this one, but the truth is I just wasn't satisfied. Yes, the performances stood out especially Brad Pitt who seems to get only better the older he gets. But when you compare "Babel" to Inarritu's beautiful "21 Grams" and his recent "Biutiful" it's far from his best.

2. Black Swan (2010)

R | 108 min | Drama, Thriller

79 Metascore

Director: Darren Aronofsky | Stars: Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Vincent Cassel, Winona Ryder

Votes: 825,162 | Gross: $106.95M

The best thing about Black Swan is I'm still thinking about it, but that's also the worst thing, because im thinking of how could this movie possibly be ruined with the crew behind it. Alot of people will say "You just don't understand it" well yeah they're right I don't, but one thing for certain i am defintley not the only one.

3. Miami Vice (2006)

R | 132 min | Action, Crime, Drama

66 Metascore

Based on the 1980s TV action/drama, this update focuses on vice detectives Crockett and Tubbs as their respective personal and professional lives become dangerously intertwined.

Director: Michael Mann | Stars: Colin Farrell, Jamie Foxx, Gong Li, Naomie Harris

Votes: 123,786 | Gross: $63.45M

Some films you just can't defend, and "Miami Vice" is one of those. Michael Mann is well known for his movies being either a hit or a miss, and no matter how hard i tried to like it, this was defintley a miss.

4. 8 Mile (2002)

R | 110 min | Drama, Music

77 Metascore

Follows a young rapper in the Detroit area, struggling with every aspect of his life; he wants to make it big but his friends and foes make this odyssey of rap harder than it may seem.

Director: Curtis Hanson | Stars: Eminem, Brittany Murphy, Kim Basinger, Mekhi Phifer

Votes: 321,043 | Gross: $116.72M

You don't have to listen to his music, hell you don't even have to like him, but you still know Eminems strugglle through most of his early life. And this movie just didn't grab a hold of you like it should of. However I still like the movie for the bold move of letting Marshall play himself, I think he suprised movie watchers and critics alike.

5. Iron Man 2 (2010)

PG-13 | 124 min | Action, Sci-Fi

57 Metascore

With the world now aware of his identity as Iron Man, Tony Stark must contend with both his declining health and a vengeful mad man with ties to his father's legacy.

Director: Jon Favreau | Stars: Robert Downey Jr., Mickey Rourke, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle

Votes: 868,835 | Gross: $312.43M

Most of the younger generation had never head of Robert downey Jr before 2008, and the people that did remember him forgot about him. However when Iron Man came out, RDJ was God. Iron Man took me by storm i saw the trailers and thought it was going to be terrible, but it turned out to be one of the finest films of that year. "Iron Man 2" simply let me down.

6. The Soloist (2009)

PG-13 | 117 min | Biography, Drama, Music

61 Metascore

A newspaper journalist discovers a homeless musical genius and tries to improve his situation.

Director: Joe Wright | Stars: Jamie Foxx, Robert Downey Jr., Catherine Keener, Tom Hollander

Votes: 55,410 | Gross: $31.67M

"The Soloist" just couldn't cut it, it went back and forth from being good to draging, and by the time the end of the movie came I just didn't care anymore what happened to the characters i just wanted to go home.

7. Southland Tales (2006)

R | 145 min | Comedy, Drama, Mystery

44 Metascore

During a three-day heat wave just before a huge 4th of July celebration, an action star stricken with amnesia meets up with a porn star who is developing her own reality TV project, and a policeman who holds the key to a vast conspiracy.

Director: Richard Kelly | Stars: Dwayne Johnson, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Seann William Scott, Carlos Amezcua

Votes: 40,643 | Gross: $0.28M

I don't know if it's that "Southland Tales" could of been good, or that I just wanted it to be good. Whatever it was, the movie just didn't have a point, it had nothing going for it 30 minutes in. Despite a list of pretty awful movies I'm not going to give up on director Richard Kelly, I beleve he's still got the capability of making a movie just as good as "Donnie Darko"
