I don't know if it is 'officially', but in my eyes this is a British classic. Not only does it show and encourage that you can be who you want to be, no matter what that might be and no matter how it might challenge cultural norms, but it also captures a time in British history that is integral to how people lived and what people were up against. This film is phenomenal and Jamie Bell is fantastic.

I am extremely biased to any Danny Boyle film, simply because, for me, he just embodies everything great about independant cinema, and the British film industry. He doesn't make something that perhaps everyone will understand or enjoy, and he's okay with that. Not only do I respect the man, but I genuinely love the films he makes. This is another great one in a long list of many.

To put this into context for younger audiences, this is like the original White Chicks. The only real difference is that this film stars the beautiful icon of the 50s Marilyn Monroe and is a black and white. I've got a bit of a thing for a classic black and white film, so I'm naturally more inclined to this - especially since its the original. Give it a go, classic comedy and some of Monroe's finest work.
