It's not exactly sci-fi or fantasy, but certainly incorporates enough paranormal weirdness to fit into the category. And, more importantly, it is still fantastic.

So creepy.... The production values are a little low (especially the sound values), but it's a very different flavor of vampire show.

Ordinary people find themselves in extraordinarily astounding situations, which they each try to solve in a remarkable manner.

Votes: 93,137

Sure, it's campy, and, sure, in the intervening decades we've seen the same ideas played through in different iterations. But the original is iconic and can creep me the heck out.

It's like the Northern Exposure of sci-fi, but too charming to leave out. At least in the early seasons.

The lives of three young alien/human hybrids with extraordinary gifts in Roswell.

It was kind of soapy and silly a lot of the time, but I loved it as a kid. I miss the alien-obsession of the '90s sometimes!

Stars: Lake Bell, Jay R. Ferguson, Carter Jenkins, Leighton Meester

Votes: 10,373

It was cancelled too soon and too suddenly to tie everything together, but it had such potential.

Stars: Eliza Dushku, Harry Lennix, Fran Kranz, Tahmoh Penikett

Oh, Wheaton. The show had some interesting ideas behind it, but it's on here more for what it could have been than what it was.

Stars: Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, John Noble, Jasika Nicole

Votes: 257,468

So many people loved this that I had to add it. And I can't figure out why I don't like it. . . the acting is good, the arc is reasonably coherent and impressively long, etc. It's the JJ effect...I can never figure out what it is that I don't like about JJ Adams' projects, but there's something about all his stuff that leaves me cold. But, for what it is, it's well done, and it was certainly the most ambitious and consistent sci-fi on the air for a few years. And Olivia's character was well done and refreshingly free of gender stereotypes. Plus, any show with Leonard Nimoy gets a little love from me.
