  • A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987)
  • A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: Dream Master (1988)
  • A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: Dream Child (1989)
  • Freddy's Dead (1991)
  • Wes Craven's New Nightmare (1993)
  • Freddy Vs Jason (2003)

Yes, this is a list dedicated to the victims of Freddy Krueger, however it only seemed appropriate to start off such a list with an introduction to none other than Freddy Krueger himself. So here we go (Keep in mind this an "in a nutshell" kind of intro)...

Fred Krueger (better known as Freddy) aka The Springwood Slasher, is a serial killer from Springwood, who murders 20 Springwood children, all living on Elm Street. Shortly after being discovered and arrested for his crimes, Krueger is released with no trial, due to a technicality. This event causes the Elm Street parents to take justice into their own hands. Krueger is chased down and corned in a boiler room, by the mob of Elm Street parents, where they then burn him alive. Years later, Krueger mysteriously returns from the grave. This time terrorizing and attacking the remaining Elm Street children (who are now teenagers), in the one place where their parents cannot protect them; their dreams. This makes Krueger an even more dangerous threat than ever before. Krueger is burnt and disfigured, wearing a fedora hat, a striped red and green sweater, and most notably, the bladed glove he used to murder the 20 Elm Street children, when he was still alive. While eliminating the remaining Elm Street children, it is discovered that not only does Krueger have the ability to invade people's dreams, but that he can also absorb the souls of his victims, making him stronger with each kill. After successfully killing off all the Elm Street kids, Krueger proceeds to go after the rest of the Springwood youth. It is revealed later in the series, that Krueger was once a family man with a wife and a daughter. However, Krueger strangles and kills his wife, Loretta, after she discovers his serial killing ways. His daughter Kathryn, witnesses the tragic event and we see that it is in fact Kathryn who informs the authorities of her father's murders, despite promising to keep his secret. It is also revealed that Kruegers ability to enter people's dreams was granted to him by three Dream Demons, a moment before his death. It is these same Dream Demons that resurrect Krueger from death, so long as he inflicts enough fear into the youth of Springwood, to keep himself relevant and alive. Krueger is later brought into the real world, fought, killed and damned to hell by his daughter Kathryn, who now goes by Maggie. During this time, Krueger's legacy is forgotten and he is rendered powerless. To amass the power he once had, Krueger searches the depths of hell, for a way to make the children of Springwood remember him again. He finds his answer in Jason Voorhees, another horror figure damned to the pits of hell. Krueger enters Voorhees dreams and uses him to murder Springwood youth, causing those who remember Krueger, to speak of him once more. It is this way, Krueger finds life again, however his joy to be alive is short lived when he finds competition in Voorhees, who won't stop killing the Springwood youth. Krueger, wanting all the souls for himself, knows the only way to stop Voorhees is to kill him himself. Krueger and Voorhees engage in a bloody showdown and although formidable opponents, neither is victorious. With no real closure, it is unclear what the fate of Freddy Krueger is today.

Christina "Tina" Gray - A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

Tina is the first character introduced to us in the NOES series, giving the false impression she is the protagonist, when in fact it is actually Nancy Thompson, her best friend. Tina is also the girlfriend of Rod Lane, friend of Glen Lantz and one of the original Elm Street kids. Despite them all having eerily similar nightmares of a strange man terrorizing them, Tina is the only Elm Street kid to show any initial fear and concern over the strange dream.

During a dream, Tina is chased by Freddy Krueger, as she runs frantically for her life. Tina's attempts to escape Freddy are ruined, when Freddy catches her as she fights to open the back door to her house. Tina wrestles and fights against Freddy, only to have him slash her chest open with his bladed glove. Freddy then proceeds to throw and drag Tina around the room as she pleads for help from her boyfriend Rod. Once dead, Tina's lifeless body drops down onto her bed in a pool of blood, making Tina the first kill of the NOES series.

Rod Lane - A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

Rod is the boyfriend of Christina "Tina" Gray, and friend of Nancy Thompson and Glen Lantz. He is also one of the four original Elm Street kids, suffering from an eerily similar dream, involving Freddy Krueger. Although Rod comes off as the rebellious tough guy, a much more vulnerable and tortured side is displayed upon witnessing the horrific and strange murder of his girlfriend, Tina. Because of his short fuse reputation, the switch blade he owns, and ultimately that he's the only person with Tina at the time of her death, Rod becomes the prime suspect in Tina's murder. In shock and fear, Rod runs away and hides out. He attempts to make contact with Nancy, but is apprehended by the police instead.

Believed to have murdered Tina, Rod is arrested and held in a jail cell, where Freddy wraps a sheet around Rod's neck as he sleeps. Freddy then pulls the now "awake" Rod out of his bed, across the floor and up towards a barred jail cell window. As Rod struggles and cries for help, he is pulled against the barred window where his neck is broken. Rod's body is found hanging, given the illusion he's committed suicide.

Glen Lantz - A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

Glen is one of the four original Elm Street kids from the original NOES. He is also the jock boyfriend of the protagonist, Nancy Thompson, as well as the friend of Christina Gray and Rod Lane. Despite sharing the same dreams as his friends, Glen dismisses it as coincidence and ignores any calls for alarm. However, regardless of his own beliefs and people's opinions of Nancy's erratic behavior, Glen remains loving and supportive of Nancy and her beliefs in Freddy Krueger. Glen even agrees to help her try and catch Freddy, despite failing and falling asleep at both attempts. Glen is also the one who informs Nancy of the Balinese belief, that turning your back on a dream monster will take away its energy and make it disappear. (Nancy later uses this to stop Freddy)

After agreeing to stay awake and help Nancy, Glen falls asleep and is pulled into his bed kicking and screaming, by Freddy. It is not entirely certain how he is killed, as it happens off screen after he is pulled into the bed. However in the next scene an unnatural amount of what appears to be Glens blood, shoots out of the bed, creating a gravity defying pool of blood on the bedroom ceiling. His body is never found and the unnatural sight of his room, shocks, stuns and horrifies his parents and authorities.

6. Ronee Blakley

Marge Thompson - A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

Marge is the mother of Nancy Thompson and the wife of Donald Thompson. Although she loves and cares for Nancy, the two of them struggle to communicate and understand one another. When Nancy begins speaking of Freddy Krueger, Marge begins to worry about Nancy's sanity. She dismisses any claims Nancy has and insists Nancy simply needs rest. Marge later reveals the truth to Nancy, about Freddy Krueger, the Springwood Slasher and the 20 children he murdered on Elm Street. Marge then confesses to being one of the parents who tracked down Freddy, cornered him in a boiler room, and burned him alive. Marge assures Nancy, that Freddy is dead and cannot hurt her. As further proof, Marge pulls out Freddys glove, which she had kept and hidden in the cellar furnace. In a drunk and vulnerable state, Marge admits her admiration to Nancy's strength and ability to stand up to her problems, something Marge cannot do. This may be an indication that Marge is tortured by what she done to Freddy in the past and is more then likely the root of her drinking problem.

After waking up full of optimism and with a new found lease on life, Freddy's arm smashes through the front door window and grabs Marge from behind. Marge screaming, is then quickly pulled through the window and killed off screen. In "A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors", Nancy Thompson mentions that her mother (Marge) died in her sleep, suggesting Marge's death was made to look like natural causes.

Unidentified girl is one of three teens trapped in a school bus with Freddy. Freddy has the three teens cornered, defenseless and crying for mercy. Ron Grady - A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985)

Ron, more commonly called Grady, starts out as Jesse's enemy, but quickly the two become friends after both being punished by Coach Schneider. Grady is a lot more outgoing and carefree then Jesse. Grady likes to joke and use humor to lighten the situation and even unintentionally, offends Jesse with his humor, when Jesse tries to talk about his dreams. Grady is also the one Jesse seeks out for help, when things start to become more then Jesse can handle. Reluctantly, Grady agrees to help Jesse, and in doing so becomes one of the only two characters who has the misfortune of watching Jesse transform in Freddy. This is also the moment that brings about Grady's demise.

Grady is trapped in his bedroom with Freddy and fights to get the door open, while frantically calling out for the help of his father. Unfortunately, Freddy has seal Grady's bedroom door. As Grady's parents fight to get the door open, Freddy grabs Grady by the neck, and holds him up against the door. Freddy then stabs Grady with his bladed glove, using enough force to make the blades not only punch through Grady, but the bedroom door as well. Grady's parents watch in horror from the other side of the door as the blades come through and make their way downward, letting us know that Freddy not only stabbed Grady, but sliced him open as well.

Lisa Webber - A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985)

Lisa's "death" is debatable as her true fate is never revealed. The last we see of Lisa, she is screaming on a runaway school bus that is being controlled by Freddy. Despite Lisa still being alive in the last scene, given the situation she is left in and the fact that she's never seen or mentioned again in the series, it is highly possible that Lisa was killed off screen by Freddy.

Jesse Walsh - A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985)

Jesse is the protagonist of NOES 2, as well as the friend of Lisa Webber, and Ron Grady. Almost immediately after moving into 1428 Elm Street, the infamous house of Nancy Thompson (the original protagonist of the first NOES), Jesse begins dreaming of Freddy Krueger. Freddy begins possessing Jesse through his dreams, gaining control over Jesse's body and using it to try and murder Jesse's family and friends. Although Jesse does not allow Freddy to hurt his family, he is to weak to stop Freddy from murdering Coach Schneider, Ron Grady, and party guests at Lisa's birthday party. It is at that point, Freddy takes over complete control of Jesse. Jesse is later saved by his friend and love interest, Lisa Webber.

Jesse's "death" is debatable as his true fate is never revealed. The last we see of Jesse, he is screaming on a runaway school bus that is being controlled by Freddy. Despite Jesse still being alive in the last scene, given the situation he is left in and the fact that he's never seen or mentioned again in the series, it is highly possible that Jesse was killed off screen by Freddy.

Little Girl on Tricycle - A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987)

The little girl on the tricycle is one of the many spirit like children, who haunt and sing the ever famous "Freddy Krueger nursery rhyme". They are often seen in the Elm Street kids dreams, dressed in white, at play and unaware of their surroundings. This little girl however, enters into conversation with Kristen Parker, and informs her of Freddy's home, disclosing the boiler room where Freddy "took them". It is highly likely that these children are the ghosts of the 20 murdered Elm Street kids, hence my reason for including them on this list.

Phillip Anderson - A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987)

Phillip is a patient at the Westin Hills Asylum and one of the last of the Elm Street children. He is placed in the hospital for being what adults perceive as suicidal, when in reality he is actually being hunted by Freddy Krueger. Phillip is known for sleepwalking and as a result is given the nickname, "The Walker". He is also known for the marionettes he skillfully crafts in his spare time and in my opinion being very intelligent and observant, as displayed in his analysis of the doctors prognosis.

As Phillip sleeps, Freddy takes the form of one of Phillips marionettes. The Freddy like marionette, then cuts his strings, walks over to Phillips bed and transforms into actual Freddy. Phillip "awakes" startled, but before he can cry out, Freddy motions for him to be quiet. Freddy then begins to make four lacerations with his bladed glove, that spread down Phillips arms to his hands and down his leg to his feet, revealing Phillips blood soaked tendons. Phillip tenses up and winces in pain with each slash. Freddy then pulls on the tendons and begins controlling Phillip like one of his marionettes. Freddy walks Phillip to a tower window and toys with him for a bit, making Phillip fight for his life. However, Phillips efforts are futile as Freddy finally cuts Phillips tendons and sends him falling to his death. Because of Phillips history of sleepwalking, the staff of Westin Hills, dismiss Phillips death as nothing more then a tragic sleepwalking accident.
