The sold-out crowd at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena learned Tuesday night there are some things Luke Bryan just won't do. One is this: If Keith Urban and Vince Gill are in his backup band, he's not going to ignore them. That's why, halfway through a magical stripped-down acoustic version of "Strip It Down," Bryan simply turned around to face the two guitar masters behind him. "If I'm gonna play and sing with Keith Urban and Vince Gill," he announced between verses, "I want to watch them." Urban couldn't resist commenting on the about-face, suggesting with some Aussie sauciness, that the...

Having the most combined star-power is often the key to victory in the Vocal Event category at the Acm Awards, from Alison Krauss teaming with Brad Paisley ("Whiskey Lulluby," 2004) to last year's star trio of Eric Church, Jason Aldean, and Luke Bryan ("The Only Way I Know"). Tim McGraw knows that better than most. He has won this race three times already, and this year he's going for a fourth victory with the help of Taylor Swift and Keith Urban on "Highway Don't Care." -Break- He won his first two Vocal Event trophies for dueting with his wife, Faith Hill: "It's Your Love" (1997) and "Just to Hear You Say That You Love Me" (1998). He picked up his third prize in 2007 for "Find Out Who Your Friends Are" with Tracy Lawrence. However, despite joining forces with superstars Swift and Urban, "Highway Don't Care" is in second place with 9/5 odds, behind &q.

Country music star Randy Travis suffered a stroke Wednesday night (July 10) and was rushed into emergency surgery to relieve pressure on his brain. Travis was hospitalized earlier in the week for cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure and the hospital believes the stroke to be a complication of said conditions.
The singer's spokesman Kirt Webster says in a email to Reuters that Travis is "out of surgery," but that he "remains in critical condition."
The stroke came as a surprise, as just hours prior to it, doctors had said publicly that Travis' condition was showing improvement.
Throughout his ordeal this week, an outpouring of support from fans and other country music stars have appeared all over the internet.
"Thinking about my friend, @randytravis, tonight. Hope he gets better soon." -- Carrie Underwood
"Sending healing strength and love to you this morning @randytravis." -- Keith Urban
