Roger Ailes’ attorney Susan Estrich reached out to The Daily Beast with a personal attack on Gabe Sherman, the New York magazine reporter who has been out in front of the sexual harassment allegations regarding Ailes. “This is Gabe Sherman’s last stand, and it falls flat,” Estrich emailed Daily Beast’s Lloyd Grove. “Sherman has made clear that nothing will stand in the way of his vendetta against Roger Ailes, and he will use any woman he can find — no matter how clearly and deeply troubled she is — to try to concoct allegations against Mr. Ailes.” She continued: “Gabe is running.

At a Tribeca Film Festival panel on Sunday (April 22), Susan Sarandon claimed not only that she was recently denied a security clearance to visit the White House, but that the government has been tapping her cell phone. Sarandon appeared with filmmaker Michael Moore on a panel about documentary filmmaking.
"We know we were under surveillance," Sarandon said in answer to a question from the audience, reports The Daily Beast's Lloyd Grove. "I've had my phone tapped."
Sarandon also talked about details she's learning from two Freedom of Information Act requests on her "file."
"I was denied a security clearance to go to the White House and I don't know why. Do you know why?" she asked the audience.
Not to be outdone, Moore asserted that he'd been the target of a "disinformation campaign," possibly engineered by the Federal government.
"I was told this by some people in the Bush administration.

Last week, CNN's Nic Robertson reported that he had found Lockerbie bomber Abdel Bassett al-Megrahi, and that things weren't looking so good for the convicted terrorist. Having tracked down his lavish Libyan compound, Robertson found al-Megrahi hooked-up to oxygen and IV, in a coma and apparently near death, and indeed, the footage of bedridden al-Megrahi did not look good. But The Daily Beast's Lloyd Grove remains somewhat skeptical.
