Exclusive: CBS has given a pilot order to The Never Game, a drama series adaptation of Jeffery Deaver’s novel, starring and executive produced by Justin Hartley. The project, which received a pilot production commitment in September 2021, comes from director Ken Olin and 20th Television.

As Deadline reported yesterday, the project quietly underwent a writer change in the spring, with Ben Winters replacing Michael Cooney who had been attached when the pitch was sold last fall. Winters’ script was delivered to CBS last week and was very well received by the network brass, putting the project on a fast track for a pilot pickup.

She’s been busy planning her upcoming wedding to Tim Rosenman as of late, but yesterday (September 9) Whitney Port took some time off to attend the Jenny Packham runway presentation at The Waterfront in Manhattan.
All decked out in designer duds, the “City” cutie sat front row with Roxy Olin where she got a close-up view of all the Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week action.
Whitney recently told press that she’s still making final decisions about her own wedding dress- “I have a couple. The thing about me is that I’m very finicky and I change my mind a lot so I’ll get set on something and the next, I’m like, ‘No, no, no, no.’ So I’m waiting until the last minute possible to actually decide what I want to do because I want the planning of the actual day to pan out before I decide.

Maxsim Chernovsky called and would like his tank top and dance belt back.
If you were wondering about last night's Brothers & Sisters liveblog... our dear snicks had taken to his sickbed, all quivering and queasy, and was thus in no shape to watch and comment on last night's Walker family shenanigans.
Too bad, because he could have made serious hay with all the craziness that went down.
The show opens with Sarah breaking in a pair of Louboutins and trying to design a seating chart for her wedding. Good luck with that - in this clan you never know who is related to who at any given moment - much less who is talking to one another.
Luc comes in in a tight black tank top - which would be suitable backstage attire for Dancing with the Stars, but seems a little unlikely loungewear (even for a French artist slash underwear model.

The Walker family has more secrets than the CIA. On Sunday's Brothers & Sisters, Brody and Michelle contributed new paternity mysteries to the ever-evolving Walker lore.
Beau Bridges' Brody is smitten with Nora. That's so great, except on B&S, it's never that simple. Cue Justin catching Brody sweating in the kitchen. Like, really sweating.
While Brody woos Nora and invites her to join him as he manages a baseball team in Fresno, Justin’s paramedic partner hacks a computer to peep Brody’s medical records.
It turns out Brody's got a clean bill of health, but Astoundingly, Justin uncovers an even bigger secret. Brody totally lied about the possibility that he could be Sarah’s dad.
I've always liked this show and its characters, but at a certain point it gets hard to take paternity mysteries seriously. The first time, sure. The second? Eh. The Third?

Patricia Wettig, who's played mistress-turned-quasi-family member Holly Harper since the beginning on Brothers & Sisters, has appeared on the show for the last time.
An apparent casualty of this year's reboot, the amnesia-stricken Holly left town to join also-departed daughter Rebecca in New York at the end of this week's episode.
The door reportedly remains open for Wettig's return, but it looks like a done deal for the foreseeable future. What do you think of the move? Is it a good one for the show?
Patricia Wettig unceremoniously bid farewell to Brothers & Sisters this week.
The actress, whose husband Ken Olin (David) and daughter Roxy Olin also appeared on the show, had gained more prominence in recent seasons prior to this one.
Meanwhile, Pedro Pascal is joining the show in a potentially recurring role. He will play Zach, a homeless war vet who Justin (Dave Annable) takes under his wing.

So ends an era: MTV has canceled The City (TV). "As of right now it doesn't really look like we're doing [The City] anymore," star Whitney Port told Ryan Seacrest Monday on his morning radio show. The City — a spin-off of The Hills (TV), which was a spin-off of 2004's Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County — followed Port as she endeavored to make it in New York's fashion industry. The series debuted in 2008 to lukewarm ratings. The second season was refocused as a workplace drama with new castmembers, including Roxy Olin. Cancelation comes as a mild surprise: The second season finale, which aired in April, saw a nice ratings boost (2.3 million viewers) following the series conclusion of The Hills. The City's demise ends the chapter on MTV reality soaps anchored by Lauren Conrad and her friends. (Conrad announced a new reality show for the network in September, but says the project...

Check out the brand new collection and the star-studded front row!
The Jill Stuart show was the place to be on Saturday morning! Everyone from Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, Kristin Cavallari, Jessica Szohr, Roxy Olin, and Shantel VanSanten turned up to see the designer’s latest collection on Sept 11 at Lincoln Center. The show was packed with people hoping to get a glimpse of the famous faces — and Jill’s super pretty collection, of course!
First the show opened with lots of black and whit e– overall, the collection stayed true to Jill’s ultra-feminine style and her affinity for pretty dresses. The designer worked opted for a muted color palette, which definitely is going to be one of the bigger trends we’re seeing so far (like at Bcbg and Adam). My favorite item in the collection was a pale pink romper — I can’t wait to scoop one up for spring!

Last night's season finale of The City was called "Lost in Translation." More accurately, it was lost in the shuffle, given the series finale of The Hills happening right beforehand.
After the way The Hills ended, one has to wonder if The City finale was not a bit over-dramatized as well. Would Whitney Port really sell out Kelly in that fashion? Did she?
Whitney tells Kelly that she has been approached by a PR woman, and even after Kelly thinks it might be a bit early to be doing press for her line, Whitney thinks about it.
Meanwhile, Olivia arrives at Elle offices in Tokyo and impresses there. In New York, Joe is starting to lean towards Olivia over Louise ... we're sure MTV plays no role in that.

But there were some happy moments on the show — Stephanie Pratt actually went out with a guy who was totally her style, and she looked so happy.
Over on the other coast, The City was also loaded with drama! Whitney Port and Roxy Olin didn’t resolve their friendship issues, prompting Roxy to say...

Rumors are swirling that Stephanie is packing her bags for NYC, but her rep tells HollywoodLife.com that the reality starlet has Other tricks up her sleeve!
Despite reports of the contrary, Stephanie Pratt is definitely Not switching coasts and moving to New York City to star in MTV’s The City — but that doesn’t mean the 24-year-old Hills star is gracefully bowing out of Hollywood…she’s going to be sticking around for awhile!
“Completely rumors,” Stephanie’s rep told HollywoodLife.com regarding reports claiming the starlet was switching coasts. “She’s not doing that. She has a handbag line coming out in the fall and then a couple of other projects we can’t talk about yet.”
More TV or more fashion?

Breaking up is never easy. Especially when it's with your best friend.
Whitney Port and Roxy Olin have been on the outs ever since the former blamed the latter for ruining a recent fashion opportunity. Now the separation has commenced.
That's essentially what happened last night on The City, when Roxy's father, actor Ken Olin of Thirtysomething and Brothers & Sisters fame, refused to lend her some money.
After a huge backstage fight that Kelly Cutrone had to break up, Whitney was surprised to come home and see her old friend packed and ready to leave her apartment.
New York rent is, like, really expensive.
Incredibly, MTV cameras were there to capture this pensive moment.
“I had no idea you were leaving so soon,” Whit says, and it's hard to tell if she's sad, relieved or a little of each (follow this link for a comprehensive recap of The City).

Bouncing from one hot spot to another, Whitney Port was spotted on a beach in Hawaii on Tuesday (July 6).
The MTV reality TV star hit up a yoga class on a beautiful beach over looking the blue Hawaiian waters and looked super cute in casual workout wear.
Over the weekend, Ms Port had a fun-filled Fourth of July as she spent it with boyfriend Ben Nemtin and her family while keeping her loyal followers updated via Twitter every so often.
Don’t miss tonight’s episode of “The City” where Whit’s friendship with Roxy Olin goes sour.

Stephanie Pratt made her debut on "The Hills" as "She-Pratt," shrieking at Lauren Conrad at Les Deux.
Now that the show is coming to an end, her true colors have been revealed -- this season, she's been happy, low-drama, and sober. We're genuinely going to miss her after the show airs its final episode on Tuesday, July 13.
Or will we? Rumors have swirled that Steph is headed to Whitney Port's spin off, "The City," to continue her quest to be a handbag designer.
"No, I'm not going to be on 'The City' next season!" Stephanie says. "I need to address that on Twitter right after I talk to you."
Stephanie and "The City" star Roxy Olin have a rocky history. Pratt's not particularly forthcoming about the girl she once called her "soulmate," but she does acknowledge that she felt betrayed when Roxy joined "The City" instead of "The Hills.

Stephanie Pratt apparently is not ready to end her reality TV career. It is reported that the younger sister of Spencer Pratt is moving to "The City" because her current starring vehicle "The Hills" is going to wrap up for good on Tuesday, July 13. “No, no, no, we are not friends!” she tells us adamantly.
Roxy, true to her candid and out-spoken personality, explains the rocky relationship.
“What you see is how she is. Olivia is very cold to us, me and her clash. I don’t like the way she treats others,” says Roxy. “I really don’t like her.”
But it wasn’t all total dislike for Olivia, Roxy did admit, “She has the ultimate style.”

Last night on The City, Whitney Port received a fright courtesy of the stage, as the title implies, only she was not on it. Rather, Canadian musician Lights that delivered the horror.
Roxy Olin was tasked with getting lights to don some Whitney Eve clothes on stage, but only succeeded in getting her into a jacket, which she dropped to the floor within seconds.
This resulted in a huge fight between the co-workers and friends, who have been at odds for weeks as it is, with Whitney suggesting that Roxy just can't handle it professionally.
A realization you just had, Whitney? We've been saying this for weeks! It's almost as if friends of yours cast on reality shows can't be trusted with serious fashion responsibilities.
Whitney and Roxy's slowly-building conflict boiled over last night.

The brunette beauty looked super sexy in a white dress accessorized with a red belt and heels as she stopped and posed for several pictures in the designated media area.
Joining the Ms Hayek were fellow stars such as the Snooki and Jwoww from “The Jersey Shore,” Roxy Olin from MTV’s “The City,” along with Kelly Bensimon from “The Real Housewives of New York City,” among a few others.
Per IMDb’s Web site, “Grown Ups” is about a high school basketball team’s coach passing away, and five good friends and former teammates reunite for a Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Sometimes we struggle to care about The City, because unless you're interested in working in fashion, it can be a touch dull, but you have to give the show its due.
Unlike The Hills, which features a lame crew of catty brats starting arguments about who knows what at clubs, The City girls are at least ostensibly career-focused.
Whether those careers are in reality TV or fashion remains to be seen, but the interactions seem real and the professional struggles compelling, if a bit redundant.
In Tuesday's episode, Olivia Palermo battled Erin Kaplan at Elle, again, while pulling together a photo shoot for singer Ke$ha (see The City recap here for more).
Whitney Port's fashion line had its ups and downs last night.
Erin thought Olivia was taking undue credit for pulling off the shoot surprisingly well, while Olivia accused her supervisor of trying to replace her with Louise Roe.

If last week's episode of The City was a reality check for our career girls, this week's marked a redemption of sorts ... even for the much-maligned Olivia Palermo.
The City recap has all the details, but here's a brief review ...
Astonishingly, Olivia was able to stomach doing some actual work and scored an interview with Zac Posen for Elle, which she boasted that she'd be able to do.
Of course, she has set the bar so low that doing what she is paid to do - the definition of a job - has become an anomaly, something worthy of great praise.
To say nothing of the fact that she already knew Zac Posen. Because Olivia Palermo is not a real career-climbing young woman, you see. She is a socialite.
Whitney Port reacts in typical Whitney Port fashion.
This is where the show drives us nuts. As cool as so many elements of it are,...

On Wednesday night (June 9), the biggest surprise at Elle magazine's first-ever "Women In Music" event was a performance by none other than the original Lady Marmalade, Patti Labelle. Once she hit the stage, everyone in attendance immediately pushed to the front of the Highline Ballroom's stage.
Elle organized the bash to celebrate their July issue, which features Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Ke$ha, Christina Aguilera and Paramore singer Hayley Williams. "They all have a look, and they all express different things with their look," explained Elle Editor-In-Chief Roberta Myers. "It's where performance and art and fashion come together."

"I think after we did the photo shoot, [bandmate and organist] Annie [Monroe] sat in the car for 10 minutes saying, 'Oh my God! Oh my God!

Fashion Week. It comes just once in a blue moon, or once every couple of weeks if you're on The City. Last night's episode provided some good drama during it, at least.
For Whitney Port, career opportunities just seem to fall in her lap. After suffering some setbacks in recent weeks, she scored a huge meeting with Maybelline cosmetics.
As our celebrity gossip site points out in its recap of The City, there are few hurdles an aspiring fashionista can't overcome with the weight of a TV network behind her.
Sure, she's good, and sure, she's as appealing personally as she is on the eyes. But are we expected to believe things come this easy in the world of fashion? We don't.
Shockingly (and by shockingly, we mean not at all shockingly), Whit scores an invitation to Miami's Fashion Week next! Naturally, sidekick Roxy Olin will accompany her.

Stepping out in support of her jewelry making pal, Olivia Palermo was on-hand for the VIP grand opening of the Thomas Sabo store in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday night (June 4).
The MTV reality star stylishly walked the black carpet upon arriving to the Grand Canal Shoppes fete at the luxurious Venetian Resort & Casino.
While inside, Miss Palermo mingled with store namesake, Thomas Sabo, as well as fellow guests including Luz Enith and Nicky Hilton.
The Sabo outing comes just after Miss Palermo's "The City" co-star Roxy Olin spoke about her castmate's imperious nature.
Miss Olin tells Zap2it of Miss Palermo, "I don't know where her [Olivia's] entitlement came from. I was raised with no matter what job you have, you treat everyone equal. My mom (Patricia Wettig of "Brothers & Sisters") is from Nowheresville and earned every penny, so every penny counts. Olivia acts so privileged. Have you even earned it?...

In the we-knew-it-all-along category: Olivia Palermo is as imperious as she seems. So says Roxy Olin, of MTV's "The City."
"Olivia is like that or even worse," Roxy tells Zap2it. "I don't know where the entitlement came from. I was raised with no matter what job you have, you treat everyone equal.
"My mom (Patricia Wettig of "Brothers & Sisters") is from Nowheresville and earned every penny, so every penny counts. Olivia acts so privileged. Have you even earned it? I can't comprehend it, even if you are so rich or so out there."
"It's so cutthroat in the fashion world, why take yourself that seriously?" she wonders. "What do you gain from it? It must be really lonely for Olivia. Don't you want to be involved and have someone to talk to? I guess she makes good TV. Maybe she will look at herself and say, 'I look like an idiot'.

As reality shows go, The City was actually fairly realistic last night, as three of our heroines were openly chastised for being inept at their jobs, or at least not meeting expectations.
In this regard, it can be a compelling program in ways The Hills couldn't imagine. Sure, certain situations are highly edited and unrealistic. But there are layers of cold, hard truth.
Is Whitney Port a fashion designer with a reality TV show on the side, or a no-talent reality star trying to make it in high fashion? The line is frequently blurred, the question loaded.
Last night, she sure looked to be the latter, as Anne Slowey slapped her around (figuratively) at Elle. Basically, Whit was told her fashion collection had all been done before.
For a designer, that's as big a put-down as they come.
Roxy Olin wears her typically confused expression.

Also in the house was “The City” chick Whitney Port, who opted for a long, wispy black frock with matching heels.
Ms. Port’s reality television costar Roxy Olin also turned out, sporting a short and flirty black minidress with sparkly accents.

She’s always up for a swanky evening, and last night (May 25) Olivia Palermo was spotted out and about in New York City.
The “City” chick looked lovely as she posed for the paparazzi while strolling through the Meat Packing District of Mahnattan.
Olivia got all gussied up in a Mulberry dress, along with a pair of snazzy heels and a black purse as she made her way inside an industry event.
Ms. Palermo, along with Whitney Port and Roxy Olin, can be seen on Tuesday nights at 10:30pm on MTV’s “The City.”...

MTV's The City is become notable for three things:
Being the more "realistic" spinoff of The Hills Being basically a 20-minute weekly ad for Elle Olivia Palermo being hilariously bad at her job
All three elements of the show were on display last night in "The Belle of Elle" as Whitney Port pursued a full-page magazine spread for her fashion line and Olivia pursued media attention, increased fame and overt love of all things as they pertain to Olivia.
It's because of this that The City is more entertaining than The Hills of late. Olivia is an absurd, narcissistic, clueless caricature of a socialite - but they definitely exist.
If any of them had jobs, this is how they'd act, too.
Whitney Port's latest fashion foray? A spread in Glamour.
At a party for Gossip Girl fashion stylist Eric Daman, Olivia was so unimpressed with a colleague chatting up...
