No more New Beginnings—The Hills reboot is officially ending. MTV canceled the reality revival after two seasons, E! News confirms. The show debuted in June 2019 and aired its final episode in August 2021. There may be some hope for a new show in the future, as a source close to production told TMZ that The Hills franchise "will live on with new iterations to come." New Beginnings welcomed back stars including Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag, Brody Jenner, Whitney Port, Spencer Pratt and Stephanie Pratt, who returned from the original show, which ran from 2006 to 2010. However, Lauren Conrad notably didn't appear in...

The rest of The Hills: New Beginnings‘ story has now been written: MTV has cancelled the reality follow-up after two seasons, according to our sister site Deadline. But “new takes on the IP are possible” down the road, the report adds.

Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Audrina Patridge, Whitney Port, Stephanie Pratt, Jason Wahler, Frankie Delgado and Brody Jenner all returned for the freshman season, joined — for some reason — by The O.C. alum Mischa Barton. Exclusive: MTV has opted not to proceed with a third season of The Hills: New Beginnings, a revival of one of the network’s signature reality series.

Stephanie Pratt is facing backlash for falsely claiming Heidi Montag is pregnant. On April 23, Made in Chelsea and The Hills alum took to her Instagram Story to post a photo of Heidi, who is married to her brother Spencer Pratt, wearing a bikini at the beach. She captioned the photo, "Yay Heidi's pregnant! I hope she has a little girl this time. Cute bump." Except, Heidi isn't pregnant...and instead of a well-meaning congratulations, the post is seemingly a dig at her sister-in-law's body. Stephanie also came for her brother: She captioned a second picture of Spencer at the beach, "I wonder what my brother is...

It's been a long road to the screen for The Hills: New Beginnings Season 2, and the latest season is bringing back one of the most iconic stars.
Kristin Cavallari, who was last seen when the original series ended over 10 years ago, returns to the franchise in the just-released trailer for the new season.
Kristin took over from Lauren Conrad during The Hills Season 5, and well, her arrival turned the series on its head.
Kristin had beef with most of the cast members, but there was a love story brewing between her and Brody Jenner.
Now that they're both a part of the cast again, could love be on the horizon?
The final scene of the trailer shows Kristin emerging from a car, taking off her mask, and muttering the following:
“Here’s to reuniting.”
In this franchise, however, the drama is never far behind. Cavallari first appeared on Laguna Beach from 2004-05.

The Hills are alive with the sound of drama once again as a (reformed?) mean girl from the original series joins the cast of New Beginnings.
MTV on Tuesday released a trailer for The Hills: New Beginnings‘ second season, which ends with the dramatic arrival of none other than Kristin Cavallari. For those whose memory of the mid-2000s remains a little fuzzy, Cavallari starred in MTV’s hit reality series Laguna Beach from 2004 to 2005, before popping up on spinoff The Hills in 2009.

When it comes to Spencer Pratt and Stephanie Pratt, it's as if time has stood still. It's no secret the reality star siblings, who rose to fame on The Hills in the 2000s, have far from a harmonious history. As fans likely recall, as recently as 2019, Stephanie referred to her older brother and his wife, Heidi Montag, as "the most toxic people I've ever met." Now, with filming underway for the second season of The Hills: New Beginnings, Spencer, once again, confirmed in a recent interview on Heather McDonald's Juicy Scoop podcast that Stephanie will not be returning, something she told a fan herself back in July 2019. Plus, there was that very...

In filming the new episodes, The Hills producer Evolution Media will be adhering to local, state and federal Covid-19 health and safety requirements.
The Hills: New Beginnings, which was renewed for a second season in July 2019, had been filming for a short period before shutting down production in mid-March amid the escalating coronavirus pandemic.

The Hills may not be dead quite yet.
Just weeks after it was announced the series has been placed on indefinite hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic, comes a glimmer of hope.
TMZ is reporting that MTV and Evolution Media are toying with the idea of putting the entire cast into a bubble for some time to finish filming the second season.
Three episodes were in the can ahead of the shutdown, and the producers put a wealth of safety measures in place to allow the cast to film the show safely.
Unfortunately for fans, MTV calls the shots here and they opted to keep the show out of production in a move that shocked the cast.
If the cast film in one home in a bubble, it would make it similar to the network's other series Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, which finds the cast leaving their families to live together.

The Hills: New Beginnings will be back in production in the coming weeks.
Page Six is reporting that the MTV reality revival is set to resume filming on its sophomore run this summer.
At this moment in time, it's looking like a late July or early August return to filming, several months after the series was placed on hiatus due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
As expected, there will be new safety protocols in place to keep the cast and crew safe while new episodes are filmed.
“Production is working with health officials in Los Angeles County to assure a healthy filming situation,” an insider said.
“They will be doing some self-shooting but mostly back to filming with the new health regulations in place for filming.”
As previously reported, Mischa Barton has been let go from the series, and will have no presence on the second season.
Caroline D'Amore has been drafted in as her replacement.

When The Hills: New Beginnings returns for Season 2, Mischa Barton will not be a part of the cast.
TMZ broke the news, noting that The Oc alum did not bring enough to the reboot to return.
“Our sources say producers found Mischa’s story line a bit bland, and her personality a little boring,” TMZ reported.
“Bottom line, she wasn’t bringing much drama to the show.”
While everyone else is expected to return for Season 2, Brody Jenner reportedly landed a lucrative deal that will see him earn around $50k per episode.
It's unclear how much the rest of the cast is paid, but given that the show's popularity pales in comparison to its predecessor, it's likely nowhere near that much.
Barton struck a chord with viewers for opening up about her highly publicized past, including her feud with Perez Hilton.

It might not be surprising news, but it's something she feels the need to share regardless—she's fighting with Brody Jenner. If I tell him this, he's going to be after Brody and it's going to just be even more poisonous for our group of friends," Stephanie says. Is it just us or is The Hills: New Beginnings at its best as soon as Justin Bobby comes on screen? In tonight's episode, the 37 year-old musician/hair stylist arrived at Stephanie Pratt's welcome home party in a stud-covered jacket, and as Audrina Patridge wondered why he never told her when his shows are and accused him of being a gypsy, he let us know what he'd been up to for the past few years. "I left this Hollywood world behind for a bit, went and stayed in huts on the beach, lived in treehouses. Went to Nicaragua for four days and I stayed for about three years," he said. "But there was just so much more that I wanted to do, so I just felt like getting back to the states....

This is crazy how all this is happening while Lauren's gone. The Hills is back, in a way, though we're still unsure why exactly. It's not that we're not endlessly fascinated by the existence of Spencer and Heidi Pratt, or by Stephanie Pratt's fame in the UK, or by how Mischa Barton came to be involved in this thing, or by multiple conversations about men coming home to their wives too late at night, or by the fact that 1 1/2 year old Gunnar Pratt has an "assistant," but we just aren't sure what exactly was the reason for bringing this show back now. The Hills: New Beginnings wasn't really able to explain why it exists, but it's here, and we just watched "old...

Nearly 10 years after the infamous ending to “The Hills” rocked MTV, the iconic reality TV series is back with a new revival.
“The Hills: New Beginnings” reunites much of the show’s original cast, including the once-villainous Pencer and Heidi Pratt, the Kardashian-adjacent Brody Jenner, Audrina Patridge and her on-again-off-again flame Justin “Bobby” Brescia and “The City” star Whitney Port. It also adds a couple of big name newcomers to its cast in “The O.C.” alum Mischa Barton and Brandon Lee, son of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee.
In the intervening years, much of the cast’s wild youth has been spent and the first half of the “New Beginnings” premiere was reserved for reflecting on all the major life changes since the Hollywood backdrop was rolled away.

Nearly 10 years after “The Hills” signed off the air, the reality phenomenon is back with “New Beginnings.” This revival brings cameras back to follow the lives of many original cast members, some of whom are married, have kids or have been divorced.
The original series, which was a spinoff of the high school hit “Laguna Beach,” followed Lauren Conrad as she graduated and moved to the hills of Los Angeles to pursue a career in fashion. Later on, Kristin Cavallari headlined the series, which turned no-name teenagers into pop culture sensations whose faces were constantly plastered across tabloid magazines with rumors of plastic surgery and sex tapes while the drama unfolded on television.
Nowadays, things are different. Conrad has gone on to become a Martha Stewart of the millennial generation and a New York Times best-selling author with nine books and lucrative clothing lines, while Cavallari turned into a businesswoman with a growing empire,...

It's hard to believe it, but MTV is taking viewers back to The Hills with follow-up series, The Hills: New Beginnings.
Premiering tonight at 10/9c, The Hills: New Beginnings Season 1 Episode 1 is poised to be heavy on the drama.
MTV has dropped the first few minutes of the premiere, and we pick up with many of the original cast members, as well as some new additions.

If you watched The Hills online, you know that the early years of their relationship was filled with controversy.
That's why many thought they would not stand the test of time.

Speidi is still going strong on Monday’s premiere of “The Hills: New Beginnings” — at least in the first three minutes of the MTV show’s revival — and toasting to their victory over all you haters out there.
“I knew Spencer [Pratt] was my soulmate the night I met him,” Heidi Pratt says in a voiceover, during the premiere’s opening.
“No one thought we’d last, but we have certainly proved them wrong,” she says, clinking glasses with her husband.

It may be New Beginnings for The Hills, but it sure sounds like the drama at the heart of the show will be very familiar to MTV viewers. "Brody and Spencer," Brandon Lee told E! It's sort of morphed over into this show as well, this season," Brody Jenner told us about his conflicts. MTV unveiled the new theme song for its revival of “The Hills” during the MTV Movie & TV Awards on Monday.
The opening credits sequence for “The Hills: New Beginnings,” which will see much of the hit reality show’s original cast reconvene nearly a decade later, is scored to a remixed version of the original theme song, “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield.
Bedingfield teamed up with songwriter and producer Linda Perry to record the updated version, and MTV shared a bit of the process in a behind-the-scenes video (watch below).
“I wanted to re-sing [the vocals],” Bedinfield says in the clip. “I wanted to take where I’m at now, kind of give it that new spin.”

As anticipation builds for MTV’s “The Hills: New Beginnings,” premiering June 24, Stephanie Pratt promises the season will have plenty of the show’s trademark tension. “From the first five minutes, it’s just drama,” she told Variety at iHeartMedia’s 2019 Wango Tango concert on June 1. “It’s really lingered over, so it’s going to be an awkward press run with everyone this week.”
Members of the show’s original cast, which includes Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt Justin Bobby and Jason Wahler, reunited at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards last summer. Nine years after The Hills concluded, The Hills: New Beginnings shows how life has changed for the stars of the hit MTV reality series. A trailer for the reboot released today brings the gang back together, and from the looks of things, they pick up right where they left off in 2010.
“There’s so much to catch up on,” Audrina Patridge says.
Heidi Pratt, who’s shown with her new baby, admits “life has drastically changed.”
Other returning cast members include Heidi’s husband Spencer Pratt, Frankie Delgado, Jason Wahler and his wife Ashley Wahler, “Justin Bobby” Brescia, Stephanie Pratt, Brody Jenner and his wife, Kaitlynn Carter Jenner.
Newcomer Mischa Barton (The O.C.) is also shown in the trailer — for a split second — but doesn’t say anything.
The original series aired on MTV from 2006-2010, and starred Lauren Conrad. But L.C. is now a fashion mogul and won’t be returning for the reboot.

So, how much has changed in the nine years since The Hills wrapped on MTV? It’s a fair question, one the cast enjoys discussing quite a bit in the full-length trailer for The Hills: New Beginnings. Unfortunately, it’s not a question that anyone actually answers. (Heck, we’re still not sure why former O.C. star Mischa Barton inexplicably shows up at the end.)
Regardless, nearly every cast member from the original series (2006–2010) is back for Round 2, including Heidi Montag, Audrina Patridge, Whitney Port, Stephanie Pratt, Jason Wahler, Brody Jenner, Spencer Pratt, Justin Bobby and Frankie Delgado. In addition to Barton,...

Stephanie's tirade came in response to the latest podcast episode of Make Speidi Famous Again, where Spencer and Heidi discussed the trio's ongoing war of words at length.
