Rob Schneider is taking his comedic wits into the vocal booth.
Schneider, Dolph Lundgren (“Creed II”) and Nicholas Turturro have joined family comedy “Pups Alone.”
The “Saturday Night Live” alum will lend his voice to the live-action feature alongside a cast that includes Jennifer Love Hewitt, Keith David (“The Princess and the Frog) and Eric Roberts (“Runaway Train”). Lundgren and Turturro will be on camera. “Pups Alone” comes from an original concept and screenplay by Brandon Burrows and Jason Gruich.
“Rob is an absolute comedic genius,” Burrows said. “I can’t wait to share Dolph and Nick’s brilliant performances in ‘Pups.’ Dolph gives a powerhouse performance. Couldn’t be prouder to have them in the film.”
Burrows also serves as producer for the Alex Merkin-directed film. Courtney Lauren Penn, Andre Relis and Jack Bowyer are executive producers.
“Pups Alone” is in negotiation for a North American Distribution deal.

By now many horror fans will know that Hate Crime, the second feature from director James Cullen Bressack (pictured above) was, last week, refused classification by the BBFC – which, thanks to the increased powers of the Atvod, effectively bans the film from being released on any home formats, be it Blu-ray, DVD or VOD, here in the UK. That’s despite the film screening at Manchester’s Grimmfest in 2012, and it being freely available on DVD and on-demand across the Us (directly from Bressack’s production company website in fact).
In the past week there has been many a post from sites across the web, from folks like Haddonfield Horror and Strange Things Are Happening, not only reporting on the ban but also decrying the BBFC’s actions. However there are some – like Simon Thompson at Huffington Post – who, without even seeing the film and only judging it from the BBFC’s report,...

James Cullen Bressack’s second feature was set to be the first release in a new joint VoD venture between Nerdly and TheHorrorShow.TV.
Hate Crime has been banned in the UK by the BBFC.
James Cullen Bressack’s second feature has already been released in the Us and was set to be the first release under the new Nerdly Presents banner, a joint venture between Nerdly.co.uk and TheHorrorShow.TV. The film centres on a Jewish family whose home is invaded by neo-Nazi lunatics during their youngest son’s birthday celebrations.
The BBFC’s official statement read: “It is the Board’s carefully considered conclusion that the unremitting manner in which Hate Crime focuses on physical and sexual abuse, aggravated by racist invective, means that to issue a classification too this work, even if confined to adults, would be inconsistent with the Board’s Guidelines, would risk potential harm, and would be...

If you’re a long time reader of my work, be it here on Nerdly, or the sites previous incarnation, Blogomatic3000, you’re probably aware of the my love for the work of a director called James Cullen Bressack. It was way back in 2011 when the young director emailed me out of the blue asking if I’d possibly like to review his first feature My Pure Joy – now the film was rough but showed a lot of promise for a first film. Bressack followed that film up with the (literally) stunning Hate Crime, a film which I’ve been championing since the first time I saw it…
So much so that when I sat down with a plan to release some of the many, many, films I’ve seen over the years that have not had the chance of an official UK debut, Hate Crime, along with Breassack’s...

There has been a long tradition of Western crossovers in cinema. These include the addition of flying saucers in Cowboys & Aliens, steampunk in Wild Wild West, dinosaurs in The Valley of Gwangi and The Beast of Hollow Mountain, and the supernatural in The Shadow of Chikara and Jonah Hex.
