To say that Hollywood is the hotspot for a jumbling mess of relationships would be an understatement. Relationships are complicated on their own, but it goes to a whole other level when it comes to Tinseltown. Even the most fairytale-esque couple have seen their bond rust away and crumble into the dirt. And it seems like Ben Affleck/Jennifer Lopez are going through the same.

The Bennifer duo can probably be labeled as the prime example of lost love being found again. Affleck met Lopez back in 2002 on the set of the crime comedy Gigli, and the two were very close to getting married. However, they called it quits a few months before they were set to tie the knot.

If Julia Garner’s accent in Inventing Anna sounds unusual to you — you’re not alone.
In the upcoming Shondaland Netflix series, the Ozark alum stars as the titular Anna Delvey, a charismatic entrepreneur or con artist (depending on who you ask) who convinces many of New York’s power players that she was a German heiress worthy of their financial support... to the tune of millions of dollars. Delvey’s accent — a hodgepodge of Russian, German and American inflections — is as complicated and muddled as her past.
“People are like, ‘This accent is crazy. Is this what she sounds like?’ They can't believe it,” Garner tells Tudum. “But at the same time, I want everybody to just Google how she sounds. I wouldn't allow myself to just go on screen and do a half accent. I’m a perfectionist.”
Garner says nailing Delvey's accent is the key to nailing the character.

Marvel Comics is home to several powerhouses. While some have immeasurable raw strength, others are more mystical in nature. We have witnessed both of these to some extent in the MCU, but the horizons of power levels have expanded way beyond our imaginations once the Infinity saga ended and the Multiverse saga began.
A still from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
We have seen glimpses of these kinds of powers in What If…? and Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness. And in both of them, and even during the Infinity saga, Doctor Strange was perhaps one of the strongest characters on the roster. However, there are other kinds of forces in Marvel that can even overpower the once Sorcerer Supreme.

Director Matt Shakman’s Fantastic Four movie adds John Malkovich and Ralph Ineson to its ensemble cast, with Ineson set to play Galactus.
Marvel Studios has announced two more names for its upcoming production of Fantastic Four.
The big news first: Ralph Ineson has joined the cast, and will play none other than Galactus – the mighty eater of worlds who has long been one of the Fantastic Four’s most implacable foes. Galactus did appear in 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer but oddly, that film featured him as an angry cloud rather than the towering humanoid form he possesses in the comic books.
We’re guessing that Marvel and Shakman are going to do a ‘proper Galactus’. Although Marvel hasn’t officially confirmed the casting yet (The Hollywood Reporter first broke the news), the thought of Ineson playing the destroyer of worlds is an intriguing one.

The legendary John Malkovich has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Multiple trades are reporting that the Con Air and Being John Malkovich star has boarded Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four in an undisclosed role. This news follows the announcement that Paul Walter Houser has also joined the ensemble.
Details on his character are also being kept under wraps, but there's a lot of speculation that he might be playing the villainous Mole Man. As for Malkovich, there are several supporting parts that have yet to be announced, including Galactus (unlikely) and Doctor Franklin Storm.
Both actors join Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning) as Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, aka the Thing.

Superhero movies aren't for everyone. There are many actors who have donned capes, cowls, and spandex, later admitting that they didn't enjoy the experience and wouldn't do it again.
However, only a small handful of performers have returned to roles they hated.
Some did so because they were contractually obliged. Others, meanwhile, wanted a second chance or were offered enough money to swallow their pride. Then, there were those who were seemingly gluttons for punishment and didn't know when to say "no." All of them are featured here.

After the tremendous revelation of all the superheroes and villains coming back and debuting through Deadpool & Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the latest reports are now suggesting that Channing Tatum’s Gambit will not only make his first live-action appearance through it but will also apparently fight a diabolical villain in the movie. But he won’t be alone through this.

As it seems, Jennifer Garner’s Elektra will be returning to the screens and joining the forces as well, and will reportedly be seen fighting side-by-side with Tatum’s mutant against this big bad. Then there are all the other superheroes reported to appear in the film, who are all expected to overpower this villain, who is none other than Cassandra Nova and her reported supervillain league.

This rumor is from Daniel Richtman, who’s known in the industry and has been right before. We don’t know yet which role Affleck might play, but we can rule out a few possibilities.

MCU has plenty of projects in the works and so, a massive wave of casting actors has been underway for quite some time now. One of the actors rumored to join is Ben Affleck, who recently retired from playing one of the most notable superhero roles you can play – Batman.
The rumor comes from Daniel Richtman, a notable industry insider with a decent track record. So far it’s unknown what role Affleck is supposed to take on. But there are a few we can eliminate.

Your first thought probably is that Affleck is returning as a Daredevil variant, possibly in the upcoming ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ alongside Garner’s Elektra, after all ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is currently undergoing reshoots to add more cameos to the movie.

As The Fantastic Four inches closer to production, the upcoming Marvel Studios reboot continues to round out its cast, and the latest addition is going to be a very busy man over the next couple of years.
After booking roles in Paramount’s Naked Gun reboot and New Line's Chris Farley biopic earlier this week, THR reports that Paul Walter Hauser has also signed on for a part in The Fantastic Four.

Now speaking to Happy, Sad, Confused Snyder revealed that he doesn’t plan on stopping, despite Dceu being largely rebooted there are still quite a few comic book movies he would like to do.
In the interview, Snyder revealed that he was closed to directing the Wolverine movie, but is still open to it stating that he could “for sure do that.” The only difficulty would be to find the right actor, something I think we can only agree with.

A decade after the filmed death of Eric Garner from a police chokehold on the streets of New York caught the attention of the nation and saw protests throughout America, an upcoming documentary looks at what happens when the cameras are turned off.
Set to come out around the 10th anniversary of the July 17, 2014, killing of the 43-year-old horticulturist by a still unconvicted NYPD officer, Ballad of A Black Mother turns the spotlight on Gwen Carr, Garner’s mother. Directed by Brad Bailey, the 35-minute film features Carr’s journey from city employee to justice advocate as the Staten Island matriarch grieves the loss of her son.
Put in a prohibited and fatal chokehold by Officer Daniel Pantaleo that summer day almost a decade ago after Garner complained of constant harassment by the cops, the Black man’s cries 11 times of “I can’t breathe” went unrecognized. Facedown and pinned on the Staten Island sidewalk,...

Last year, New Line Cinema went all-in on a partnership with Barbarian (watch it Here) writer/director Zach Cregger and the film’s producers at BoulderLight Pictures. New Line came out the winner in a bidding war over Cregger’s next film, a mysterious horror project called Weapons… which was, at one point, set to star Pedro Pascal of The Last of Us. Pascal had to drop out due to scheduling issues when he was cast in the Marvel movie Fantastic Four – but Cregger is still assembling an interesting cast for the film. We’ve previously heard that Dune, Avengers: Infinity War, and No Country for Old Men star Josh Brolin and Julia Garner, who is best known for her work on the series Ozark (for which she won three Emmy awards), are set to star in Weapons. Now Deadline reports that Alden Ehrenreich of Solo, Oppenheimer, Cocaine Bear, and Hail, Caesar!

As he develops his follow-up to hit horror movie Barbarian, writer/director Zach Cregger has been quietly building the cast he needs for his latest, Weapons. Alden Ehrenreich is the most recent addition to an ensemble that already includes Josh Brolin and Julia Garner.
Weapons is mostly being kept under wraps, but we have previously heard it described as "an interrelated, multistory horror epic that tonally is in the vein of Magnolia", focusing on missing high school students. Which would not really surprise us given the terrifying intensity and invention of Barbarian.
New Line snapped up the rights to back the new film, which at one point had Pedro Pascal attached to star before his commitment to other gigs including Marvel's Fantastic Four took precedence. In a coincidental quirk, Garner is also in Fantastic Four, but in a smaller role as Shalla-Bal.

“Satan is his father and his name is Adrian!” shouts the coven leader Roman Castevet at the end of 1968’s. Rosemary’s Baby. “He shall overthrow the mighty and lay waste their temples. He shall redeem the despised and wreak vengeance in the name of the burned and the tortured.”
Even when making allowances for Roman’s (Sidney Blackmer) understandable delight at seeing his plan come to fruition, that’s a lot of expectation to put on a newborn, no matter who his father might be. Unfortunately, the sequels chronicling Adrian’s rise to power didn’t quite live up to those expectations. Neither the 1976 TV movie Look What’s Happened to Rosemary’s Baby, in which Patty Duke subs in for Mia Farrow, nor original author Ira Levin’s follow-up book Son of Rosemary (1997) manages to deliver what Roman promised.

Two years have gone by since a psychological thriller called Apartment 7A – which Relic (watch it Here) director Natalie Erika James helmed for Paramount Players and A Quiet Place collaborators Platinum Dunes and John Krasinski – wrapped filming. Soon after filming came to an end, rumors began to circulate that Apartment 7A was secretly a prequel to the 1968 classic Rosemary’s Baby… and now those rumors have been proven to be true! Deadline broke the news that Apartment 7A will finally be making its way out into the world this fall, as it’s set to receive a Paramount+ release in the U.S. and in select international markets, and in their report they confirmed that this is indeed a Rosemary’s Baby prequel. Maybe the fact that the Omen prequel The First Omen went over well with viewers inspired Paramount to finally release this horror prequel.

Few horror movies in the last several decades have left quite as much a psychological scar as "Rosemary's Baby" from 1968, a widespread cultural obsession among genre fans that has now led to a prequel film called "Apartment 7A," which has long been in the works and finally has a release window.
We first heard about "Apartment 7A" back in 2022, which was meant to tell the story of the eponymous apartment before Rosemary Woodhouse ever moved in and experienced the story's awful events. First told in author Ira Levin's best-selling novel, the main setting of that old, eerie-looking building on Central Park West ranks high among the likes of the Overlook Hotel from "The Shining," the Nostromo in "Alien," and other famous horror locales. Now, we're finally getting an origin story -- of sorts -- with ties going all the way back to the controversial Roman Polanski-directed classic.

Last year, New Line Cinema went all-in on a partnership with Barbarian (watch it Here) writer/director Zach Cregger and the film’s producers at BoulderLight Pictures. New Line came out the winner in a bidding war over Cregger’s next film, a mysterious horror project called Weapons. They signed a first look deal with BoulderLight Pictures, tasking the company with developing high concept genre projects for them. And they gave a greenlight to the thriller Companion, produced by BoulderLight and Cregger. Last May, it was announced that Pedro Pascal of The Last of Us had signed on to star in Weapons – but Pascal had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts with his Marvel movie Fantastic Four, so he has since been replaced by Dune, Avengers: Infinity War, and No Country for Old Men star Josh Brolin. Now The Hollywood Reporter has shared the news that Brolin is being...

Julia Garner has joined Josh Brolin on Weapons, the new film from the director of Barbarian, Zach Cregger.
Julia Garner has been announced as the leading name in the ensemble for Zach Cregger’s soon-to-shoot horror project, Weapons.
We first learned about the film around a year ago when it became the subject of a heated bidding war. Cregger was coming of the back of 2022’s Barbarian, one of the buzziest horror films of that year. Barbarian didn’t just announce an exciting new voice in the horror genre, it also performed commercially earning $45m worldwide, amounting to around ten times its production budget.
With horror being seen as one of the only remaining genres to reliably pull audiences into cinemas, the success of Cregger’s film saw several studios keen to secure his future services. New Line CInema duly won out and around a year ago, the filmmaker’s next feature was announced.

Even before the ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ trailer dropped, it was common knowledge that a bunch of X-Men and other Marvel-related characters from Fox were slated to show up in the movie.
Elektra, played by Garner, was among the first confirmed cameos, marking her return since her standalone film in 2005. After that, reports surfaced about Dafne Keen reprising her role as X-23, and lately, Hugh Jackman and Channing Tatum teased on social media that Tatum might finally step into the shoes of Gambit, especially after his standalone project got scrapped.
Many fans speculated that the multitude of cameos and character variants would simply be fan service and nostalgia, leading to a disappointing experience akin to last year’s ‘Flash.’ However, if the rumors hold true, Elektra, Gambit, and X-23 are poised to play substantial roles.

Twenty years ago this month, the fairy tale-like romantic comedy “13 Going on 30” starring Jennifer Garner made its way into cinemas. The actress played Jenna Rink, a socially awkward soon-to-be 13-year-old who quickly realizes that she “hates being 13.” She makes a birthday wish to be “thirty, flirty and thriving.” With the little help of some wishing dust, she wakes up the next morning to discover that her wish has come true.
It was a defining moment in Garner’s early career. Her role as Sydney Bristow in the television action thriller series “Alias” had made her a breakout star (including at awards shows) just a few years earlier. She won the Golden Globe for Best Drama Actress in 2002 and had competed again in 2003 and earlier in 2004. She had also been nominated for two Emmy Awards one Screen Actors Guild trophy.

Twenty years after its release, the Jennifer Garner-led comedy 13 Going on 30 is still thriving.
Sony released Gary Winick’s comedy in theaters April 23, 2004, and the film earned $96 million ($159 million today) at the global box office. Also featuring Mark Ruffalo, Judy Greer and Andy Serkis, the movie centered on teenage Jenna Rink (played by Christa B. Allen, now known as Christa Belle), who gets embarrassed at a party and makes a wish that transforms her into her 30-year-old self (Garner).
Co-writers Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa, in addition to Belle, separately share with The Hollywood Reporter about other actresses being considered for Garner’s part, Ruffalo feeling hesitant to do the “Thriller” dance, memories of Winick (who died of cancer in 2011 at age 49), the status of a stage musical, and persistent chatter among the film’s team regarding a potential onscreen reboot.

Pedro Pascal did not become the name that he is today immediately after entering the Hollywood industry. It took him a long time and a great amount of patience. While skill was everpresent, recognition wasn’t. He made his name with effort seeping through every scene. Now he stands as Joel, the Mandalorian, and Javier all at the same time.

As far as investigators go, Jim Rockford (James Garner) is a bit of a departure from the mostly-polished (Columbo excepted) detectives of television's first decade. A slouchily dressed detective who lived in a trailer and served time in San Quentin, Rockford was cool — if not always collected. "The Rockford Files" ran for six seasons on NBC beginning in 1974 and was later resurrected for a series of '90s TV movies. In that time, audiences were introduced not only to Rockford, but to a cast of supporting characters including his truck driver dad Rocky (Noah Beery Jr.), LAPD pal Becker (Joe Santos), and the con artist Angel (Stuart Margolin).
Garner passed away in 2014, and only a few "Rockford Files" castmates are still with us today. Those who are still around include notable recurring guest stars like famously mustachioed "Blue Bloods" star Tom Selleck, Egot-winning multi-hyphenate Rita Moreno, and "Happy Gilmore" director...

Our planet can be absolutely terrifying. From unpredictable earthquakes to monstrous storms, there’s really no shortage of ways in which our cosmic home can kill us. And yet, our species perseveres, with humanity going so far as to entertain itself by telling stories about how we can overcome – or at the very least survive – the fury of nature. In fact, these stories have become so prevalent in popular culture that disaster movies are known to be one of the most profitable genres in all of cinema, and while some audiences remain critical so-called “disaster-porn,” I’d argue that the best of these films are really about the endurance of the human spirit.
And if you’re planning on telling a story about people coming to terms with how fragile they are when confronted with nature, why not place the camera in the hands of your own main characters? I mean,...

We retired Strike Talk, the Deadline podcast by Billy Ray and Todd Garner Deadline hatched to lend perspective and serve as a beacon of hope to the industry during the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. We’ve put the band back together because a potential standoff between the signatories and the negotiators for the Teamster and IATSE guilds looms just up the road when their contracts expire July 31. Are the signatories going to repeat last year’s failed strategy of keeping the CEOs out of the room until too late to stop another disastrous Hollywood shut down? Ray and Garner pose that question to Lindsay Dougherty, who’s leading the negotiation for the Teamsters, and who here reveals she has not had even a passing chat with any of the CEOs that finally solved the last round of labor strife. Last week, it was announced that Julia Garner will portray MCU’s Silver Surfer. She’ll depict Shalla-Bal, known as Norrin’s love interest in the comics. However, in some versions, Shalla also serves as Galactus’s Herald, known as Sunglow.
Reactions to Julia Garner’s casting were mixed. Some in the community felt that changing Silver Surfer’s gender was disrespectful to the character’s legacy, as most associate the character with being male. Others believe that alternative versions of Silver Surfer, particularly female ones, deserve recognition.
Certainly, there are already calls to boycott the movie, but this isn’t the right approach. Regardless of your stance on the film, it’s important to watch it first, even if just to critique it later with an informed perspective. Speaking of Silver Surfer in live-action, we’ve previously seen him in ‘Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer,’ portrayed by Laurence Fishburne and Doug Jones.

Last week it was revealed that MCU’s Silver Surfer will be Julia Garner. Julia will be portraying Shalla-Bal, Norrin’s love interest in the comics, but there is a reality in which Shalla serves as the Herald of Galactus as well, Sunglow.
The reactions to Julia Garner’s casting were extremely polarizing with a good part of the community feeling that genderswapping Silver Surfer, whom 99% of people associate with being male, is extremely disrespectful to the character’s legacy. The second part of the fandom however feels that other versions of Silver Surfer – notably female ones, should get their moment of glory.
Needless to say there are already calls to boycott the movie, but this is wrong, no matter what your feelings are about the movie, you should first watch it, if only so you can criticize it later in an informed way. Now that we’ve touched upon...
