Poll: The Best Abrupt Movie Openings

A poll by Teriek-Williams
This is a list of films that start abruptly with little warning, or context of what is happening. However, it intriguingly informs the audience of the tone, severity, style and themes of what will follow.

Criteria

  • Must be an abrupt opening.
  • No revealing prompts in opening credits scenes.
  • No text descriptions (i.e.: Blade Runner, 12 Monkeys)
  • Cannot be overly long (i.e.: Inglourious Basterds).
  • No dialogue revealing contextual details.
