Good, not great
8 November 1999
Warning: Spoilers
Interesting "horror" film about Barrymore shrinking people and making them commit murders for him. It's not really a horror film at all. It's a drama with horrific touches. The sequences where the two miniature killers are chilling...but that's about it. Still it is a good film. Barrymore spends virtually the entire movie in drag (he's hiding from the police) and pulls it off. He's obviously enjoying himself immensely. Also Maureen O'Sullivan has a small role as his daughter and she's great. The only bad acting is by Rafaela Ottiano. She looks like a middle age Bride of Frankenstein and REALLY chews the scenery...but not in a good way. She gets annoying quick. So...it's good but not great.
