Review of Night Sins

Night Sins (1997 TV Movie)
10/10
Entertaining, Guilty Pleasure

This movie is loads of fun. Almost everyone in the town of Deer Run has a secret. As the Police Chief (with a past tragedy) and SBI Agent (Valerie Bertinelli) O'Malley investigate the kidnapping of a young boy they turn up the secrets of all the town's denizens. You meet a pedophile, closet homosexuals, a man having an affair with his neighbor, and even an evil chess club with a diabolical gamemaster. Even SBI Agent O'Malley has a secret. She fends off "migraines" with injections of a powerful drug. Every time we think we know who is bad, we learn that -- yes they are bad (and involved somehow in the abduction) -- but there is someone even worse waiting in the wings. This is trash, but high class trash. It may not be for members of the arty or experimental film crowd, but it has the most important element of any film. It's fun! As for a sequel -- bring it on!
