I'm very surprised by the enormity of the negative voting here for Speed 2. I enjoyed the first Speed just as much as everyone, and yet I believe that Speed 2 was a decent sequel. True, without Mr. Reeves it doesn't feel quite the same, but I think Sandra Bullock does an excellent job with a poor script. And Jason Patrick would be a good hero if only people would give him a chance. Willem Defoe is a terrific villain in his role, and overall the movie has more good elements than bad. The fact that it's a sequel to a fantastic movie is what makes it so hard to be objective. I hope more people will realize that Speed 2 is not as bad as they think.
