Shades of "My Mother, the Car" in this Michael Keaton vehicle that spins its wheels trying to come off as that perfect family movie for the holidays. Kelly "Mrs. John Travolta" Preston thinks her son is going nuts talking to a snowman which must have seemed very funny to the writers. The real question is why they felt the need to kill Keaton off--and remove the film's only sure-fire entertainer. Better approach might have been to have had animated snowman under the spell of a mountain dwarf--or something--and goad a living Keaton into being a better dad.
